< 2 Samuel 6 >
1 Dafidi sì tún kó gbogbo àwọn akọni ọkùnrin ní Israẹli jọ, wọ́n sì jẹ́ ẹgbàá mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dógún.
Once again David called up all specially chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand in total.
2 Dafidi sì dìde, ó sì lọ àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn tí ń bẹ́ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ́, láti Baalahi ní Juda wá, láti mú àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run tí ibẹ̀ wá, èyí tí a ń pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní orúkọ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun tí ó jókòó láàrín àwọn kérúbù.
He went with all his men to Baalah in Judah to bring back the Ark of God, which belongs to the Lord Almighty who sits between the cherubim that are on the Ark.
3 Wọ́n sì gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run náà gun kẹ̀kẹ́ tuntun kan, wọ́n sì mú un láti ilé Abinadabu wá, èyí tí ó wà ní Gibeah: Ussa àti Ahio, àwọn ọmọ Abinadabu sì ń dá kẹ̀kẹ́ tuntun náà.
They placed the Ark of God on a new cart and brought it from Abinadab's house, which was on a hill. Uzzah and Ahio, Abinadab's sons, were directing the cart
4 Wọ́n sì mú un láti ilé Abinadabu jáde wá, tí ó wà ní Gibeah, pẹ̀lú àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run, Ahio sì ń rìn níwájú àpótí ẹ̀rí náà.

David and all the Israelites were celebrating in the Lord's presence, singing songs accompanied by zithers, harps, tambourines, rattles, and cymbals.
6 Nígbà tí wọ́n dé sí ilẹ̀ ìpakà Nakoni, Ussa sì na ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sí àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run, ó sì dìímú, nítorí tí màlúù kọsẹ̀.
But when they came to the threshing floor of Nachon, the oxen stumbled, so Uzzah reached out to stop the Ark of God from falling.
7 Ìbínú Olúwa sì ru sí Ussa; Ọlọ́run sì pa á níbẹ̀ nítorí ìṣísẹ̀ rẹ̀; níbẹ̀ ni ó sì kù ní ẹ̀bá àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run.
The Lord was angry with Uzzah, and God struck him down right there for his disobedience, and he died beside the Ark of God.
8 Inú Dafidi sì bàjẹ́ nítorí tí Olúwa gé Ussa kúrò, ó sì pe orúkọ ibẹ̀ ní Peresi-Usa títí ó fi di òní yìí.
David was angry because of the Lord's violent outburst against Uzzah. He called the place Perez-uzzah, which is still its name today.
9 Dafidi sì bẹ̀rù Olúwa ní ọjọ́ náà, ó sì wí pé, “Àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa yóò ti ṣe tọ̀ mí wá?”
David became afraid of the Lord that day. “How can I ever bring back the Ark of God home to me?” he asked.
10 Dafidi kò sì fẹ́ mú àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ sí ìlú Dafidi; ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi sì mú un yà sí ilé Obedi-Edomu ará Gitti.
Not wanting to bring the Ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David, he had it taken to the home of Obed-edom the Gittite.
11 Àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sì gbé ní ilé Obedi-Edomu ará Gitti ní oṣù mẹ́ta; Olúwa sì bùkún fún Obedi-Edomu, àti gbogbo ilé rẹ̀.
The Ark of the Lord remained in Obed-edom's home for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom's whole household.
12 A sì rò fún Dafidi ọba pé, “Olúwa ti bùkún fún ilé Obedi-Edomu, àti gbogbo èyí tí í ṣe tirẹ̀, nítorí àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run.” Dafidi sì lọ, ó sì mú àpótí ẹ̀rí náà gòkè láti ilé Obedi-Edomu wá sí ìlú Dafidi pẹ̀lú ayọ̀.
King David was told, “The Lord has blessed Obed-edom's household and all that he has because of the Ark of God.” So David went and had the Ark of God brought from Obed-edom's house to the City of David. There was a lot of celebration!
13 Ó sì ṣe nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn tí ó ru àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa bá sì ṣí ẹsẹ̀ mẹ́fà, òun a sì fi màlúù àti ẹran àbọ́pa rú ẹbọ.
After those carrying the Ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf.
14 Dafidi sì fi gbogbo agbára rẹ̀ jó níwájú Olúwa; Dafidi sì wọ efodu ọ̀gbọ̀.
Wearing a priest's ephod, David danced as hard as he could before the Lord
15 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Dafidi àti gbogbo ilé Israẹli sì gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa gòkè wá, pẹ̀lú ìhó ayọ̀, àti pẹ̀lú ìró ìpè.
as he and all the Israelites brought along the Ark of the Lord, with plenty of shouting and the sound of horns being blown.
16 Bí àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sì ti wọ ìlú Dafidi wá; Mikali ọmọbìnrin Saulu sì wo láti ojú fèrèsé, ó sì rí Dafidi ọba ń fò sókè ó sì ń jó níwájú Olúwa; òun sì kẹ́gàn rẹ̀ ní ọkàn rẹ̀.
As the Ark of the Lord was carried into the City of David, Saul's daughter Michal looked down from a window. She watched King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she really loathed him.
17 Wọ́n sì mú àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa náà wá, wọ́n sì gbé e kalẹ̀ sípò rẹ̀ láàrín àgọ́ náà tí Dafidi pa fún un. Dafidi sì rú ẹbọ sísun àti ẹbọ ìrẹ́pọ̀ níwájú Olúwa.
They brought the Ark of the Lord and put it on its place inside the tent that David had set up for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and friendship offerings before the Lord.
18 Dafidi sì parí ìṣe ẹbọ sísun àti ẹbọ ìrẹ́pọ̀ náà, ó sì súre fún àwọn ènìyàn náà ní orúkọ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
Once he had finished offering the sacrifices, David blessed the people in the name of the Lord Almighty.
19 Ó sì pín fún gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà, àní fún gbogbo ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn Israẹli, àti ọkùnrin àti obìnrin; fún olúkúlùkù ìṣù àkàrà kan àti ekìrí ẹran kan, àti àkàrà díndín kan. Gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà sì túká lọ, olúkúlùkù sí ilé rẹ̀.
He gave all the Israelites, both men and women, a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake. Then he sent everyone home.
20 Dafidi sì yípadà láti súre fún àwọn ará ilé rẹ̀, Mikali ọmọbìnrin Saulu sì jáde láti wá pàdé Dafidi, ó sì wí pé, “Báwo ni ọba Israẹli ṣe ṣe ara rẹ̀ lógo bẹ́ẹ̀ lónìí, tí ó bọ́ ara rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ lónìí lójú àwọn ìránṣẹ́bìnrin àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bi ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ènìyàn lásán tí ń bọ́ra rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.”
When David got home to bless his family, Michal, Saul's daughter came out to meet him and said, “How distinguished the king of Israel made himself look today, taking off his robes so everyone's servant girls could see, just as somebody crude would expose himself!”
21 Dafidi sì wí fún Mikali pé, “Níwájú Olúwa ni, ẹni tí ó yàn mí fẹ́ ju baba rẹ lọ, àti ju gbogbo ìdílé rẹ lọ, láti fi èmi ṣe olórí àwọn ènìyàn Olúwa, àní lórí Israẹli, èmi ó sì súre níwájú Olúwa.
David told Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his family when he named me ruler over the Lord's people Israel. I will continue to celebrate before the Lord,
22 Èmi ó sì tún rẹ ara mi sílẹ̀ jú bẹ́ẹ̀ lọ, èmi ó sì ṣe aláìníyìn lójú ara mi, àti lójú àwọn ìránṣẹ́bìnrin náà ti ìwọ wí, lọ́dọ̀ wọn náà ni èmi ó sì ní ògo.”
in fact I'm going to make myself even less distinguished, become even more humble. However, I will be respected by those servant girls you spoke about.”
23 Mikali ọmọbìnrin Saulu kò sì bí ọmọ, títí o fi di ọjọ́ ikú rẹ̀ nítorí tí ó sọ̀rọ̀-òdì yìí sí Dafidi.
And Michal, Saul's daughter, never had any children.
