< 2 Samuel 21 >
1 Ìyàn kan sì mú lọ́jọ́ Dafidi ní ọdún mẹ́ta, láti ọdún dé ọdún; Dafidi sì béèrè lọ́dọ̀ Olúwa, Olúwa sì wí pé, “Nítorí ti Saulu ni, àti nítorí ilé rẹ̀ tí ó kún fún ẹ̀jẹ̀, nítorí pé ó pa àwọn ará Gibeoni.”
Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
2 Ọba sì pe àwọn ará Gibeoni, ó sì bá wọn sọ̀rọ̀; àwọn ará Gibeoni kì í ṣe ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n jẹ́ àwọn tí ó kù nínú àwọn ọmọ Amori; àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sì ti búra fún wọn, Saulu sì ń wá ọ̀nà àti pa wọ́n ní ìtara rẹ̀ fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli àti Juda.
And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
3 Dafidi sì bi àwọn ará Gibeoni léèrè pé, “Kí ni èmi ó ṣe fún un yín? Àti kín ni èmi ó fi ṣe ètùtù, kí ẹ̀yin lè súre fún ilẹ̀ ìní Olúwa?”
Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that all of you may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
4 Àwọn ará Gibeoni sì wí fún un pé, “Kì í ṣe ọ̀rọ̀ fàdákà tàbí wúrà láàrín wa àti Saulu tàbí ìdílé rẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò sì fẹ́ kí ẹ pa ẹnìkan ní Israẹli.” Dafidi sì wí pé, “Èyí tí ẹ̀yin bá wí ni èmi ó ṣe?”
And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shall you kill any man in Israel. And he said, What all of you shall say, that will I do for you.
5 Wọ́n sì wí fún ọba pé, “Ọkùnrin tí ó run wá, tí ó sì rò láti pa wá rẹ́ ki a má kù níbikíbi nínú gbogbo agbègbè Israẹli.
And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
6 Mú ọkùnrin méje nínú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ fún wá, àwa ó sì so wọ́n rọ̀ fún Olúwa ní Gibeah ti Saulu ẹni tí Olúwa ti yàn.” Ọba sì wí pé, “Èmi ó fi wọ́n fún yín.”
Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.
7 Ṣùgbọ́n ọba dá Mefiboṣeti sí, ọmọ Jonatani, ọmọ Saulu, nítorí ìbúra Olúwa tí ó wà láàrín Dafidi àti Jonatani ọmọ Saulu.
But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 Ọba sì mú àwọn ọmọkùnrin méjèèjì tí Rispa ọmọbìnrin Aiah bí fún Saulu, àní Ammoni àti Mefiboṣeti àwọn ọmọkùnrin márààrún ti Merabu, ọmọbìnrin Saulu, àwọn tí ó bí fún Adrieli ọmọ Barsillai ará Mehola.
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
9 Ó sì fi wọ́n lé àwọn ará Gibeah lọ́wọ́, wọ́n sì so wọ́n rọ̀ lórí òkè níwájú Olúwa: àwọn méjèèjì sì ṣubú lẹ́ẹ̀kan, a sì pa wọ́n ní ìgbà ìkórè, ní ìbẹ̀rẹ̀, ìkórè ọkà barle.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.
10 Rispa ọmọbìnrin Aiah sì mú aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ kan, ó sì tẹ́ fún ará rẹ̀ lórí àpáta ní ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ ìkórè, títí omi fi dà sí wọn lára láti ọ̀run wá, kò sì jẹ́ kí àwọn ẹyẹ ojú ọ̀run bà lé wọn lọ́sàn, tàbí àwọn ẹranko igbó lóru.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
11 A sì ro èyí, tí Rispa ọmọbìnrin Aiah obìnrin Saulu ṣe, fún Dafidi.
And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12 Dafidi sì lọ ó sì kó egungun Saulu, àti egungun Jonatani ọmọ rẹ̀ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ àwọn ọkùnrin Jabesi Gileadi, àwọn tí ó jí wọn kúrò ní ìta Beti-Ṣani, níbi tí àwọn Filistini gbé so wọ́n rọ̀, nígbà tí àwọn Filistini pa Saulu ní Gilboa.
And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
13 Ó sì mú egungun Saulu àti egungun Jonatani ọmọ rẹ̀ láti ibẹ̀ náà wá; wọ́n sì kó egungun àwọn tí a ti so rọ̀ jọ.
And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
14 Wọ́n sì sin egungun Saulu àti ti Jonatani ọmọ rẹ̀ ní ilé Benjamini, ní Ṣela, nínú ibojì Kiṣi baba rẹ̀, wọ́n sì ṣe gbogbo èyí tí ọba paláṣẹ, lẹ́yìn èyí ni Ọlọ́run si gba ẹ̀bẹ̀ nítorí ilẹ̀ náà.
And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the tomb of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was implored for the land.
15 Ogun sì tún wà láàrín àwọn Filistini àti Israẹli; Dafidi sì sọ̀kalẹ̀, àti àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, ó sì bá àwọn Filistini jà, ó sì rẹ Dafidi.
Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
16 Iṣbi-Benobu sì jẹ́ ọ̀kan nínú àwọn Rafa, ẹni tí ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ wọn ọ̀ọ́dúnrún ṣékélì idẹ, ó sì sán idà tuntun, ó sì gbèrò láti pa Dafidi.
And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n Abiṣai ọmọ Seruiah ràn án lọ́wọ́, ó sì kọlu Filistini náà, ó sì pa á. Nígbà náà ni àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Dafidi sì búra fún un pé, “Ìwọ kì yóò sì tún bá wa jáde lọ sí ibi ìjà mọ́ kí ìwọ má ṣe pa iná Israẹli.”
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and stroke the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David swore unto him, saying, You shall go no more out with us to battle, that you quench not the light of Israel.
18 Lẹ́yìn èyí, ìjà kan sì tún wà láàrín àwọn Israẹli àti àwọn Filistini ní Gobu, nígbà náà ni Sibekai ará Huṣati pa Safu, ẹni tí í ṣe ọ̀kan nínú àwọn Rafa.
And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.
19 Ìjà kan sì tún wà ní Gobu láàrín àwọn Israẹli àti àwọn Filistini, Elhanani ọmọ Jairi ará Bẹtilẹhẹmu sì pa arákùnrin Goliati ará Gitti, ẹni tí ọ̀pá ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ dàbí ìdábùú apásá ìhunṣọ.
And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20 Ìjà kan sì tún wà ní Gati, ọkùnrin kan sì wà tí ó ga púpọ̀, ó sì ní ìka mẹ́fà ní ọwọ́ kan, àti ọmọ ẹsẹ̀ mẹ́fà ní ẹsẹ̀ kan, àpapọ̀ rẹ̀ sì jẹ́ mẹ́rìnlélógún; a sì bí òun náà ní Rafa.
And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
21 Nígbà tí òun sì pe Israẹli ní ìjà. Jonatani ọmọ Ṣimea arákùnrin Dafidi sì pa á.
And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.
22 Àwọn mẹ́rẹ̀ẹ̀rin wọ̀nyí ni ìran Rafa ní Gati, wọ́n sì ti ọwọ́ Dafidi ṣubú àti ọwọ́ àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀.
These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
