< 2 Samuel 20 >

1 Ọkùnrin Beliali kan sì ń bẹ níbẹ̀ orúkọ rẹ̀ sì ń jẹ́ Ṣeba ọmọ Bikri ará Benjamini; ó sì fún ìpè ó sì wí pé, “Àwa kò ní ipa nínú Dafidi, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwa kò ni ìní nínú ọmọ Jese! Kí olúkúlùkù ọkùnrin lọ sí àgọ́ rẹ̀, ẹ̀yin Israẹli!”
And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name [was] Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
2 Gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin Israẹli sì lọ kúrò lẹ́yìn Dafidi, wọ́n sì ń tọ́ Ṣeba ọmọ Bikri lẹ́yìn, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọkùnrin Juda sì fi ara mọ́ ọba wọn láti odò Jordani wá títí ó fi dé Jerusalẹmu.
So every man of Israel, withdrawing from David, followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah adhered to their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
3 Dafidi sì wà ní ilé rẹ̀ ní Jerusalẹmu; ọba sì mú àwọn obìnrin mẹ́wàá tí í ṣe àlè rẹ̀, àwọn tí ó ti fi sílẹ̀ láti máa ṣọ́ ilé, Ó sì há wọn mọ́ ilé, ó sì ń bọ́ wọn, ṣùgbọ́n kò sì tún wọlé tọ̀ wọ́n mọ́. A sì sé wọn mọ́ títí di ọjọ́ ikú wọn, wọ́n sì wà bí opó.
And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women [his] concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in custody, and fed them, but went not in to them. So they were shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.
4 Ọba sì wí fún Amasa pé, “Pe àwọn ọkùnrin Juda fún mi ní ìwọ̀n ọjọ́ mẹ́ta òní, kí ìwọ náà kí o sì wà níhìn-ín yìí.”
Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble to me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.
5 Amasa sì lọ láti pe àwọn ọkùnrin Juda; ṣùgbọ́n ó sì dúró pẹ́ ju àkókò tí a fi fún un.
So Amasa went to assemble [the men of] Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.
6 Dafidi sì wí fún Abiṣai pé, “Nísinsin yìí Ṣeba ọmọ Bikri yóò ṣe wá ní ibi ju ti Absalomu lọ; ìwọ mú àwọn ìránṣẹ́ olúwa rẹ, kí o sì lépa rẹ̀, kí ó má ba à rí ìlú olódi wọ̀, kí ó sì bọ́ lọ́wọ́ wa.”
And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than [did] Absalom: take thou thy lord's servants, and pursue him, lest he get for himself fortified cities, and escape us.
7 Àwọn ọmọkùnrin Joabu sì jáde tọ̀ ọ́ lọ, àti àwọn Kereti, àti àwọn Peleti, àti gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin alágbára, wọ́n sì ti Jerusalẹmu jáde lọ, láti lépa Ṣeba ọmọ Bikri.
And there went out after him Joab's men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
8 Nígbà tí wọ́n dé ibi òkúta ńlá tí ó wà ní Gibeoni, Amasa sì ṣáájú wọn, Joabu sì di àmùrè sí agbádá rẹ̀ tí ó wọ̀, ó sì sán idà rẹ̀ mọ́ ìdí, nínú àkọ̀ rẹ̀, bí ó sì ti ń lọ, ó yọ́ jáde.
When they [were] at the great stone which [is] in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab's garment that he had put on was girded to him, and upon it a girdle [with] a sword fastened upon his loins in its sheath; and as he went forth it fell out.
9 Joabu sì bi Amasa léèrè pé, “Àlàáfíà ha kọ́ ni bí, ìwọ arákùnrin mi?” Joabu sì na ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ̀, di Amasa ní irùngbọ̀n mú láti fi ẹnu kò ó lẹ́nu.
And Joab said to Amasa, [Art] thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.
10 Ṣùgbọ́n Amasa kò sì kíyèsi idà tí ń bẹ lọ́wọ́ Joabu, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni òun sì fi gún un ní ikùn, ìfun rẹ̀ sì tú dà sílẹ̀, òun kò sì tún gún un mọ́, Amasa sì kú. Joabu àti Abiṣai arákùnrin rẹ̀ sì lépa Ṣeba ọmọ Bikri.
But Amasa took no heed to the sword that [was] in Joab's hand: so he smote him in the fifth [rib], and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
11 Ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọdékùnrin tí ó wà lọ́dọ̀ Joabu sì dúró tì Amasa, ó sì wí pé, “Ta ni ẹni tí ó fẹ́ràn Joabu? Ta ni ó sì ń ṣe ti Dafidi, kí ó máa tọ Joabu lẹ́yìn.”
And one of Joab's men stood by him, and said, He that favoreth Joab, and he that [is] for David, [let him go] after Joab.
12 Amasa sì ń yíràá nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀ láàrín ọ̀nà. Ọkùnrin náà sì rí i pé gbogbo ènìyàn sì dúró tì í, ó sì gbé Amasa kúrò lójú ọ̀nà lọ sínú igbó, ó sì fi aṣọ bò ó, nígbà tí ó rí i pé ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá dé ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀, á dúró.
And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
13 Nígbà tí ó sì gbé Amasa kúrò lójú ọ̀nà gbogbo ènìyàn sì tọ Joabu lẹ́yìn láti lépa Ṣeba ọmọ Bikri.
When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
14 Ṣeba kọjá nínú gbogbo ẹ̀yà Israẹli sí Abeli-Beti-Maaka, àti gbogbo àwọn ará Beri; wọ́n sì kó ara wọn jọ, wọ́n sì tọ̀ ọ́ lẹ́yìn pẹ̀lú.
And he went through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, and to Beth-maachah, and all the Berites: and they were assembled, and went also after him.
15 Wọ́n wá, wọ́n sì dó tì Ṣeba ní Abeli-Beti-Maaka, wọ́n sì mọ odi ti ìlú náà, odi náà sì dúró ti odi ìlú náà, gbogbo ènìyàn tí ń bẹ lọ́dọ̀ Joabu sì ń gbìyànjú láti wó ògiri náà lulẹ̀.
And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that [were] with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
16 Obìnrin ọlọ́gbọ́n kan sì kígbe sókè láti ìlú náà wá pé, “Fetísílẹ̀! Fetísílẹ̀! Èmi bẹ̀ yín, ẹ sọ fún Joabu pé, ‘Súnmọ́ ìhín yìí èmi ó sì bá a sọ̀rọ̀.’”
Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, to Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.
17 Nígbà tí òun sì súnmọ́ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀, obìnrin náà sì wí pé, “Ìwọ ni Joabu bí?” Òun sì dáhùn wí pé, “Èmi náà ni.” Obìnrin náà sì wí fún un pé, “Gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ.” Òun sì dáhùn wí pé, “Èmi ń gbọ́.”
And when he was come near to her, the woman said, [Art] thou Joab? And he answered, I [am he]. Then she said to him, Hear the words of thy handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.
18 Ó sì sọ̀rọ̀ wí pé, “Wọ́n ti ń wí ṣáájú pé, ‘Gba ìdáhùn rẹ ní Abeli,’ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n sì parí ọ̀ràn náà.
Then she spoke, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They will surely ask [counsel] at Abel: and so they ended [the matter].
19 Èmi ni ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ẹni àlàáfíà àti olóòtítọ́ ní Israẹli, ìwọ ń wá ọ̀nà láti pa ìlú kan run tí ó jẹ́ ìyá ní Israẹli, èéṣe tí ìwọ ó fi gbé ìní Olúwa mì.”
I [am one of them that are] peaceable [and] faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?
20 Joabu sì dáhùn wí pé, “Kí a má rí i, kí a má rí i lọ́dọ̀ mi pé èmi gbé mì tàbí èmi sì parun.
And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.
21 Ọ̀ràn náà kò sì rí bẹ́ẹ̀; ṣùgbọ́n ọkùnrin kan láti òkè Efraimu, tí orúkọ rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Ṣeba, ọmọ Bikri, ni ó gbé ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sókè sí ọba, àní sí Dafidi: fi òun nìkan ṣoṣo lé wa lọ́wọ́, èmi ó sì fi ìlú sílẹ̀.” Obìnrin náà sì wí fún Joabu pé, “Wò ó, orí rẹ̀ ni a ó sì sọ láti inú odi wá.”
The matter [is] not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, [even] against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said to Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
22 Obìnrin náà sì mú ìmọ́ràn rẹ̀ tọ gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà, wọ́n sì bẹ Ṣeba ọmọ Bikri lórí, wọ́n sì sọ ọ́ sí Joabu. Òun sì fún ìpè, wọ́n sì túká ní ìlú náà, olúkúlùkù sí àgọ́ rẹ̀. Joabu sí padà lọ sí Jerusalẹmu àti sọ́dọ̀ ọba.
Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast [it] out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.
23 Joabu sì ni olórí gbogbo ogun Israẹli; Benaiah ọmọ Jehoiada sì jẹ́ olórí àwọn Kereti, àti ti àwọn Peleti.
Now Joab [was] over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada [was] over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:
24 Adoniramu sì jẹ́ olórí àwọn agbowó òde; Jehoṣafati ọmọ Ahiludi sì jẹ́ olùkọsílẹ̀ ohun tí ó ń ṣẹlẹ̀ ní ìlú.
And Adoram [was] over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud [was] recorder:
25 Ṣefa sì jẹ́ akọ̀wé; Sadoku àti Abiatari sì ni àwọn àlùfáà.
And Sheva [was] scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar [were] the priests:
26 Ira pẹ̀lú, ará Jairi ni ń ṣe àlùfáà lọ́dọ̀ Dafidi.
And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.
