< 2 Kings 9 >

1 Wòlíì Eliṣa fi àṣẹ pe ọkùnrin kan láti ẹgbẹ́ àwọn wòlíì, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Ki agbádá rẹ sínú ọ̀já àmùrè rẹ, gba ṣágo kékeré òróró yìí pẹ̀lú rẹ, kí o sì lọ sí Ramoti Gileadi.
Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.
2 Nígbà tí o bá dé bẹ̀, wá Jehu ọmọ Jehoṣafati, ọmọ Nimṣi kiri. Lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ ọ rẹ̀, mú un kúrò lọ́dọ̀ àwọn ẹlẹgbẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀, kí o sì mú un wọ inú yàrá lọ́hùn ún lọ.
When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from among his brothers, and take him to an inner room.
3 Nígbà náà, mú ṣágo kékeré yìí, kí o sì da òróró náà lé e lórí, kí o sì wí pé, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí, “Èmi fi àmì òróró yàn ọ́ ní ọba lórí Israẹli.”’ Nígbà náà, ṣí ìlẹ̀kùn, kí o sì sáré, má ṣe jáfara!”
Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Yahweh says, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”
4 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin náà, wòlíì náà lọ sí Ramoti Gileadi.
So the young man, the young prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
5 Nígbà tí ó dé, ó rí àwọn olórí ẹgbẹ́ ọmọ-ogun tí wọ́n jókòó papọ̀. “Èmi ní iṣẹ́ fún ọ, olórí,” Ó wí. “Sí ta ni nínú wa?” Jehu béèrè. Òun sì wí pé, “Sí ọ, balógun,” Ó dáhùn.
When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which one of us?” He said, “To you, O captain.”
6 Jehu dìde sókè, ó sì wọ inú ilé lọ. Nígbà náà, wòlíì náà da òróró náà sórí Jehu; ó sì wí pé, “Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí: ‘Èmi fi àmì òróró yàn ọ́ ní ọba lórí àwọn ènìyàn Olúwa Israẹli.
He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.
7 Kí ìwọ kí ó pa ilé Ahabu ọ̀gá à rẹ̀ run, Èmi yóò sì gbẹ̀san ẹ̀jẹ̀ gbogbo àwọn ìránṣẹ́ mi wòlíì àti gbogbo ẹ̀jẹ̀ àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa tí a ta sílẹ̀ látọwọ́ ọ Jesebeli.
You must strike your master Ahab’s house, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.

For the whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
9 Èmi yóò ṣe ilé Ahabu gẹ́gẹ́ bí ilé Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati àti ilé Baaṣa ọmọ Ahijah.
I will make Ahab’s house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be no one to bury her.’” Then he opened the door and fled.
11 Nígbà tí Jehu jáde lọ bá àwọn ọgbà ìjòyè e rẹ̀, ọ̀kan nínú wọn sì bi í pé, “Ṣé gbogbo nǹkan dára?” Kí ni ó dé tí aṣiwèrè fi tọ̀ ọ́ wá, “Ìwọ mọ ọkùnrin náà àti irú nǹkan tí ó ń sọ,” Jehu fèsì.
When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this madman come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and how he talks.”
12 “Ìyẹn kì í ṣe òótọ́!” Wọ́n wí. “Sọ fún wa.” Jehu wí, “Èyí ni ohun tí ó sọ fún mi: ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí, “Èmi fi àmì òróró yàn ọ́ ní ọba lórí Israẹli.”’”
They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Yahweh says, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”
13 Wọ́n ṣe gírí, wọ́n sì mú agbádá a wọn, wọ́n sì tàn wọ́n sí abẹ́ rẹ̀ ní orí àtẹ̀gùn. Nígbà náà, wọ́n fọn ìpè, wọ́n sì kígbe, “Jehu jẹ ọba!”
Then they hurried, and each man took his cloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”
So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was defending Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
15 ṣùgbọ́n ọba Joramu ti padà sí Jesreeli láti lọ sàn nínú ọgbẹ́ tí àwọn ará Aramu ti dá sí i lára nínú ogun pẹ̀lú ọba Hasaeli ti Aramu.) Jehu wí pé, “Tí èyí bá jẹ́ ọ̀nà tí ò ń rò, má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹnìkankan kí ó yọ jáde nínú ìlú ńlá láti lọ sọ ìròyìn náà ní Jesreeli.”
but King Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.”
16 Nígbà náà Jehu wọ inú kẹ̀kẹ́ rẹ̀, ó sì gùn ún lọ sí Jesreeli, nítorí Joramu ń sinmi níbẹ̀ àti Ahasiah ọba Juda sì sọ̀kalẹ̀ láti wá wò Joramu.
So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
17 Nígbà tí olùṣọ́ kan tí ó dúró ní ilé ìṣọ́ ní Jesreeli, rí ọ̀wọ́ ogun Jehu tí wọ́n ń súnmọ́ tòsí, ó pè jáde, “Mo rí àwọn ọ̀wọ́ ogun tí ó ń bọ̀.” “Mú ọkùnrin ẹlẹ́ṣin kan,” Joramu pa á láṣẹ. “Rán an lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ wọn kí o sì béèrè pé, ‘Ṣé ẹ̀yin wá pẹ̀lú àlàáfíà?’”
Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”
18 Ọkùnrin ẹlẹ́ṣin náà, lọ láti lọ bá Jehu ó sì wí pé, “Èyí ni ohun tí ọba wí: ‘Ṣé ìwọ wá pẹ̀lú àlàáfíà?’” “Kí ni ìwọ ní ṣe pẹ̀lú àlàáfíà?” Jehu sì dáhùn. “Bọ́ sí ẹ̀yìn mi.” Olùṣọ́ náà sì wí fún un pé, “Ìránṣẹ́ náà ti dé ọ̀dọ̀ wọn, ṣùgbọ́n kò tún padà wá mọ́.”
So one went on horseback to meet him, and said, “the king says, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”
19 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, ọba rán ọkùnrin ẹlẹ́ṣin kejì. Nígbà náà ó wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ wọn, ó wí pé, “Èyí ni ohun tí ọba sọ: “Ṣé ìwọ wá pẹ̀lú àlàáfíà?” Jehu dáhùn, “Dúró sí ẹ̀yìn mi.”
Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them and said, “The king says, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”
20 Olùṣọ́ náà sì fi sùn. “Ó ti dé ọ̀dọ̀ wọn, ṣùgbọ́n kò tún padà wá mọ́ pẹ̀lú. Wíwá rẹ̀ sì dàbí ti Jehu ọmọ Nimṣi, ó ń wa kẹ̀kẹ́ bí ti aṣiwèrè.”
The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”
21 “Fi ìwọ̀ kọ́ kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun mi.” Joramu pa á láṣẹ. Àti nígbà tí a fi kọ́, Joramu ọba Israẹli àti Ahasiah ọba Juda, gun kẹ̀kẹ́ lọ, olúkúlùkù nínú kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun tirẹ̀, láti lọ bá Jehu. Wọ́n bá a pàdé ní ibi oko tí ó ti jẹ́ ti Naboti ará Jesreeli.
Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite’s land.
22 Nígbà tí Joramu rí Jehu, ó béèrè pé, “Ṣé ìwọ wá pẹ̀lú àlàáfíà, Jehu?” “Báwo ni àlàáfíà yóò ṣe wà,” Jehu dáhùn, “Ní ìwọ̀n ìgbà tí gbogbo ìbọ̀rìṣà àti iṣẹ́ àjẹ́ ti màmá rẹ Jesebeli di púpọ̀?”
When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”
23 Joramu yí ọwọ́ rẹ̀ padà, ó sì sálọ, ó sì ń pe Ahasiah, “Ọ̀tẹ̀ dé, Ahasiah!”
Joram turned his hands and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “This is treason, Ahaziah!”
24 Nígbà náà, Jehu fa ọrun rẹ̀, ó sì yin Joramu láàrín èjìká méjèèjì. Ọfà náà sì wọ inú ọkàn rẹ̀, ó sì ṣubú lulẹ̀ láti orí kẹ̀kẹ́ rẹ̀.
Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
25 Jehu sọ fún Bidikari, balógun kẹ̀kẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀ pé, “Gbé e sókè kí ó sì jù ú sí orí oko tí ó jẹ́ ti Naboti ará Jesreeli. Rántí bí èmi àti ìwọ ti ń gun kẹ̀kẹ́ papọ̀ lẹ́yìn Ahabu baba à rẹ nígbà tí Olúwa sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ nípa rẹ̀,
Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:
26 ‘Ní àná, mo rí ẹ̀jẹ̀ Naboti pẹ̀lú ẹ̀jẹ̀ ọmọ rẹ̀ ọkùnrin, ni Olúwa wí.’ Ǹjẹ́ nítorí náà, ẹ gbé e sókè, kí o sì jù ú sí orí ilẹ̀ oko náà ní ìbámu pẹ̀lú ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa.”
‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to Yahweh’s word.”
27 Nígbà tí Ahasiah ọba, Juda rí ohun tí ó ti ṣẹlẹ̀, ó sálọ sójú ọ̀nà sí Beti-Haggani. Jehu sì lépa rẹ̀, ó ń kígbe, “Pa á pẹ̀lú!” Wọ́n ṣá a ní ọgbẹ́ nínú kẹ̀kẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀ ní ọ̀nà lọ sí Guri lẹ́bàá a Ibleamu, ṣùgbọ́n ó sálọ sí Megido, ó sì kú síbẹ̀.
But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28 Ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ sì gbé e pẹ̀lú kẹ̀kẹ́ lọ sí Jerusalẹmu, ó sì sin ín pẹ̀lú, baba a rẹ̀ nínú ibojì rẹ̀ ní ìlú ńlá ti Dafidi.
His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in David’s city.
29 (Ní ọdún kọkànlá ti Joramu ọmọ Ahabu, Ahasiah ti di ọba Juda.)
In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.
30 Nígbà náà Jehu lọ sí Jesreeli. Nígbà tí Jesebeli gbọ́ nípa rẹ̀, ó kun ojú u rẹ̀, ó to irun rẹ̀, ó sì wò jáde láti ojú fèrèsé.
When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and adorned her head, and looked out at the window.
31 Bí Jehu ti wọ ẹnu ìlẹ̀kùn, ó béèrè, “Ṣé ìwọ wá ní àlàáfíà, Simri, ìwọ olùpa ọ̀gá à rẹ?”
As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”
32 Ó gbójú sókè láti wo fèrèsé, ó sì pè jáde, “Ta ni ó wà ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ mi? Ta ni?” Ìwẹ̀fà méjì tàbí mẹ́ta bojú wò ó nílẹ̀.
He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.
33 Jehu sọ wí pé, “Gbé e jù sílẹ̀!” Wọ́n sì jù ú sílẹ̀. Díẹ̀ nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀ rẹ̀ sì fọ́n sí ara ògiri àti àwọn ẹṣin bí wọ́n ti tẹ̀ ẹ́ mọ́lẹ̀ lábẹ́ ẹsẹ̀ wọn.
He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.
34 Jehu wọ inú ilé lọ, ó jẹ, ó sì mu. “Tọ́jú obìnrin yẹn tí a fi bú,” Ó wí, “Kí o sì sin ín, nítorí ọmọbìnrin ọba ni ó jẹ́.”
When he had come in, he ate and drank. Then he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”
35 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n jáde lọ láti lọ sin ín, wọn kò rí nǹkan kan àyàfi agbárí i rẹ̀, ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ méjèèjì àti ọwọ́ rẹ̀ méjèèjì.
They went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull, the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36 Wọ́n padà lọ sọ fún Jehu, ẹni tí ó wí pé, “Èyí ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tí ó sọ nípasẹ̀ ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ Elijah ará Tiṣibi wí pé, ‘Ní orí oko Jesreeli ni àwọn ajá yóò ti jẹ ẹran-ara Jesebeli.
Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,
37 Òkú Jesebeli yóò dàbí ohun ẹ̀gbin ní orí oko Jesreeli, dé bi pé, ẹnikẹ́ni kì yóò lè sọ pé, “Jesebeli ni èyí.”’”
and the body of Jezebel will be as dung on the surface of the field on Jezreel’s land, so that they won’t say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
