The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, "Do you know that Jehovah will take away your master from your head today?" He said, "Yes, I know it; hold your peace."
4 Nígbà náà Elijah sì wí fún un pé, “Dúró níbí, Eliṣa: Olúwa ti rán mi lọ sí Jeriko.” Ó sì dá a lóhùn pé, “Bí ó ti dájú pé Olúwa yè àti tí ìwọ náà yè, èmi kò ní fi ọ́ sílẹ̀.” Wọ́n sì jọ lọ sí Jeriko.
Elijah said to him, "Elisha, please wait here, for Jehovah has sent me to Jericho." He said, "As Jehovah lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." So they came to Jericho.

The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came near to Elisha, and said to him, "Do you know that Jehovah will take away your master from your head today?" He answered, "Yes, I know it. Hold your peace."
6 Nígbà náà Elijah wí fún un pé, “Dúró níbí; Olúwa rán mi lọ sí Jordani.” Ó sì dá a lóhùn pé, “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti jẹ́ wí pé, Olúwa yè àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí o ti yè, èmi kò ní fi ọ́ sílẹ̀.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn méjèèjì sì jọ ń lọ.
Elijah said to him, "Please wait here, for Jehovah has sent me to the Jordan." He said, "As Jehovah lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." They both went on.
7 Àádọ́ta àwọn ọkùnrin ọmọ wòlíì sì lọ láti lọ dúró ní ọ̀nà jíjìn, wọ́n sì kọ ojú da ibi tí Elijah àti Eliṣa ti dúró ní Jordani.
Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood opposite them at a distance; and they both stood by the Jordan.

Elijah took his cloak, and wrapped it together, and struck the waters, and they were divided here and there, so that the two of them went over on dry ground.

It happened, when they had gone over, that Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you." Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be on me."
10 “Ìwọ ti béèrè ohun tí ó ṣòro,” Elijah wí pé, “Síbẹ̀ tí ìwọ bá rí mi nígbà tí a bá gbà mí kúrò lọ́wọ́ rẹ, yóò jẹ́ tìrẹ bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́ kò ní rí bẹ́ẹ̀.”
He said, "You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so."
11 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti ń rìn lọ tí wọ́n sì ń sọ̀rọ̀ pọ̀, lọ́gán kẹ̀kẹ́ iná àti ẹṣin iná yọ sí wọn ó sì ya àwọn méjèèjì nípa, Elijah sì gòkè lọ sí ọ̀run pẹ̀lú àjà.

Elisha saw it, and he cried, "My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen." He saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and tore them in two pieces.
13 Ó sì mú agbádá tí ó ti jábọ́ láti ọ̀dọ̀ Elijah ó sì padà lọ, ó sì dúró lórí bèbè Jordani.
And he picked up the cloak of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

And he took the cloak of Elijah that fell from him, and struck the water, and it did not divide. And he said, "Where is Jehovah, the God of Elijah, even he?" And he struck the water a second time, and they divided to the one side and to the other; and Elisha crossed over.
15 Àwọn ọmọ wòlíì láti Jeriko, tí wọ́n ń wò, wí pé, “Ẹ̀mí Elijah sinmi lé Eliṣa.” Wọ́n sì lọ láti lọ bá a, wọ́n sì dojúbolẹ̀ níwájú rẹ̀.
When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho over against him saw him, they said, "The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha." They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
16 “Wò ó,” wọ́n wí pé, “Àwa ìránṣẹ́ ni àádọ́ta ọkùnrin alágbára. Jẹ́ kí wọ́n lọ láti lọ wá ọ̀gá rẹ wá. Bóyá ẹ̀mí Olúwa ti gbé e sókè, ó sì gbé e kalẹ̀ lórí òkè ńlá tàbí lórí ilẹ̀.” “Rárá,” Eliṣa dá a lóhùn pé, “Má ṣe rán wọn.”
And they said to him, "See now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. Perhaps the Spirit of Jehovah has taken him up and thrown him into the Jordan, or on some mountain, or into some valley." And he said, "Do not send them."
17 Ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n rọ̀ ọ́ títí ojú fi tì í láti gbà. Ó wí pé, “Rán wọn.” Wọ́n sì rán àádọ́ta ènìyàn tí ó wá a fún ọjọ́ mẹ́ta ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò rí i.
When they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, "Send them." They sent therefore fifty men; and they searched for three days, but did not find him.

They came back to him, while he stayed at Jericho; and he said to them, "Did I not tell you not to go?"

The men of the city said to Elisha, "Look, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land miscarries."
20 Ó sì wí pé, “Mú àwokòtò tuntun fún mi wá, kí o sì mú iyọ̀ sí inú rẹ̀.” Wọ́n sì gbé e wá fún un.
He said, "Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it." They brought it to him.

He went out to the spring of the waters, and threw salt into it, and said, "Thus says Jehovah, 'I have healed these waters. There shall not be from there any more death or miscarrying.'"
22 Omi náà sì ti dára ni mímu títí di òní, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀rọ̀ tí Eliṣa ti sọ.
So the waters were healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.

He went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up by the way, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, and said to him, "Go up, you baldy. Go up, you baldhead."
24 Ó sì yípadà, ó sì wò wọ́n ó sì fi wọ́n bú ní orúkọ Olúwa. Nígbà náà beari méjì sì jáde wá láti inú igbó ó sì lu méjìlélógójì lára àwọn ọ̀dọ́ náà.

He went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.
