< 2 Corinthians 10 >

1 Ṣùgbọ́n èmi Paulu fúnra mi fi inú tútù àti ìwà pẹ̀lẹ́ Kristi bẹ̀ yín, èmi ẹni ìrẹ̀lẹ̀ lójú yín nígbà tí mo wà láàrín yín, ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí èmi kò sí, mo di ẹni ìgboyà sí yín.
Moreover, I, Paul, myself, exhort you, through the meekness and considerateness of the Christ, —I who, to look upon, indeed, am lowly toward you, but, absent, am bold towards you; —
2 Ṣùgbọ́n èmi bẹ̀ yín pé nígbà tí mo wà láàrín yín, kí èmi ba à lè lo ìgboyà pẹ̀lú ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé náà, eléyìí tí mo ti fọkàn sí láti fi dojúkọ àwọn kan, ti ń funra sí wa bí ẹni tí ń rìn nípa ìlànà ti ayé yìí.
I entreat, however, that, when present, I may not be bold with the assurance wherewith I think to be daring against some who account of us as though, according to flesh, we were walking, —
3 Nítorí pé, bí àwa tilẹ̀ n gbé nínú ayé, ṣùgbọ́n àwa kò jagun nípa ti ara.
For, though, in flesh, we walk, not, according to flesh, do we war, —
4 Nítorí ohun ìjà wa kì í ṣe ti ara, ṣùgbọ́n ó lágbára nínú Ọlọ́run láti wó ibi gíga palẹ̀.
For, the weapons of our warfare, are not fleshly, but mighty, by God, unto a pulling down of strongholds, —
5 Àwa ń sọ gbogbo èrò àti gbogbo ohun gíga ti ń gbe ara rẹ̀ ga sí ìmọ̀ Ọlọ́run kalẹ̀, àwa sì ń di gbogbo èrò ní ìgbèkùn wá sí ìtẹríba fún Kristi.
When we pull down, calculations, and every height that uplifteth itself against the knowledge of God, and when we bring into captivity every thought unto the obedience of the Christ,
6 Àwa sì ti murá tan láti jẹ gbogbo àìgbọ́ràn ní yà, nígbà tí ìgbọ́ràn yín bá pé.
And when we hold ourselves, in readiness, to avenge all disobedience, as soon as your obedience shall be fulfilled!
7 Ẹ̀yin sì ń wo nǹkan gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti fihàn lóde. Bí ẹnikẹ́ni bá ní ìgboyà nínú ara rẹ̀, ti Kristi ni òun, kí ó tún rò lẹ́ẹ̀kan si pé, bí òun ti jẹ́ ti Kristi, gẹ́gẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwa pẹ̀lú jẹ́ ti Kristi.
The things that lie on the surface, ye are looking at: —if anyone hath come to trust in himself that he is, Christ’s, this, let him reckon, again, with himself—that, even as, he, is Christ’s, so, also are, we.
8 Nítorí bí mo tilẹ̀ ń ṣògo bí ó ti wù mi nítorí agbára, tí Olúwa ti fi fún wá fún ìdàgbàsókè, dípò fífà yín ṣubú, ojú kí yóò tì mí.
Yea, if, somewhat more abundantly, I should boast concerning our authority—which the Lord hath given for building up and not for pulling you down, I shall not be put to shame, —
9 Kí ó má ṣe dàbí ẹni pé èmi ń fi ìwé kíkọ dẹ́rùbà yín.
That I may not seem as though I would be terrifying you through means of my letters;
10 Nítorí wọ́n wí pé, “Ìwé rẹ wúwo, wọn sì lágbára; ṣùgbọ́n ní ti ara ìrísí rẹ̀ jẹ aláìlera, ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ kò níláárí.”
Because, The letters, it is true (saith one), are weighty and strong, but, the presence of the body, is weak, and, the discourse, contemptible; —
11 Kí irú ènìyàn bẹ́ẹ̀ mọ̀ pé, irú ẹni tí àwa jẹ́ nínú ọ̀rọ̀ nípa ìwé kíkọ nígbà tí àwa kò sí, irú ẹni bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwa sì jẹ́ nínú iṣẹ́ pẹ̀lú nígbà ti àwa bá wà.
This, let such a one reckon—that, what we are, in our word, through means of letters, being absent, such, also, being present, are we, in our deed.
12 Nítorí pé àwa kò dáṣà láti ka ara wa mọ́, tàbí láti fi ara wa wé àwọn mìíràn nínú wọn tí ń yin ara wọn; ṣùgbọ́n àwọn fúnra wọn jẹ́ aláìlóye bí wọn ti ń fi ara wọn díwọ̀n ara wọ́n, tí wọ́n sì ń fi ara wọn wé ara wọn.
For we dare not class or compare ourselves with some who do, themselves, commend; but, they, among themselves, measuring, themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without discernment!
13 Ṣùgbọ́n àwa kò ṣògo rékọjá ààlà wa, ṣùgbọ́n nípa ààlà ìwọ̀n tí Ọlọ́run ti pín fún wa, èyí tí ó mú kí ó ṣe é ṣe láti dé ọ̀dọ̀ yín.
We, however, not as to the things without measure, will boast ourselves, but, according to the measure of the limit which God apportioned unto us, as a measure—to reach as far as even you!
14 Nítorí àwa kò nawọ́ wa rékọjá rárá, bí ẹni pé àwa kò dé ọ̀dọ̀ yín: nítorí àwa tilẹ̀ dé ọ̀dọ̀ yín pẹ̀lú nínú ìyìnrere Kristi.
For, not as though we were not reaching unto you, are we over-stretching ourselves, for, as far as even you, were we beforehand in the glad-message of the Christ:
15 Àwa kò ṣògo rékọjá ààlà wa, èyí nì, lórí iṣẹ́ ẹlòmíràn, ṣùgbọ́n àwa ní ìrètí pé, bí ìgbàgbọ́ yín ti ń dàgbà sí i, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ààlà wa, àwa ó dí gbígbéga lọ́dọ̀ yín sí i lọ́pọ̀lọ́pọ̀.
Not, as to the things without measure, boasting ourselves in other men’s toils, but having, hope—your faith, growing—among you, to be enlarged, according to our limit for something beyond, —
16 Kí a bá à lè wàásù ìyìnrere ní àwọn ìlú tí ń bẹ níwájú yín, kí a má sì ṣògo nínú ààlà ẹlòmíràn nípa ohun tí ó wà ní àrọ́wọ́tó.
Unto the regions beyond you, to carry the glad-message: not, within another man’s limit, as to the things made ready, to boast ourselves.
17 “Ṣùgbọ́n jẹ́ kí ẹni tí ó bá ń ṣògo, kí ó máa ṣògo nínú Olúwa.”
He that boasteth, however, in the Lord, let him boast;
18 Nítorí kì í ṣe ẹni tí ń yin ara rẹ̀ ni ó ní ìtẹ́wọ́gbà, bí kò ṣe ẹni tí Olúwa bá yìn.
For, not he that commendeth himself, he, is approved, but he whom, the Lord, doth commend.
