< 2 Corinthians 1 >

1 Paulu aposteli Jesu Kristi nípa ìfẹ́ Ọlọ́run, àti Timotiu arákùnrin wá, Sí ìjọ Ọlọ́run tí ó wà ní Kọrinti pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ tí ó wà ní gbogbo Akaia:
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, through the will of God, and Timothy the brother, —unto the assembly of God which is in Corinth, together with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
2 Oore-ọ̀fẹ́ sí yín àti àlàáfíà láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run Baba wa, àti Jesu Kristi Olúwa.
Favour unto you, and peace, from God [our] Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Olùbùkún ni Ọlọ́run, àti Baba Jesu Kristi Olúwa wa, Baba ìyọ́nú, àti Ọlọ́run ìtùnú gbogbo.
Blessed, be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassions, and God of all encouragement,
4 Ẹni tí ń tù wá nínú ni gbogbo ìdààmú wa, ki àwa pẹ̀lú lè máa tu àwọn tí ó wá nínú ìdààmú nínú, nípá ìtùnú náà ti a fi ń tú àwa fúnra wa nínú láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run wá.
Who encourageth us in all our tribulation, to the end we may be able to encourage them who are in any tribulation—through means of the encouragement wherewith we, ourselves, are encouraged by God.
5 Nítorí pé bí àwa ti pín nínú ìjìyà Kristi, gẹ́gẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ nì ìtùnú wa dí púpọ̀ pẹ̀lú nípa Kristi.
Because, even as the sufferings of the Christ overflow unto us, so, through the Christ, overfloweth, our encouragement also.
6 Ṣùgbọ́n bí a bá sì ń pọ́n wa lójú, ó jẹ́ fún ìtùnú àti ìgbàlà yín; tàbí bi a bá ń tù wá nínú, ó jẹ́ fún ìtùnú yín ti ń ṣiṣẹ́ sùúrù láti mú yin ní irú ìfaradà ìyà kan náà ti àwa pẹ̀lú ń jẹ́.
But, whether we are in tribulation, it is for your encouragement and salvation; whether we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which worketh inwardly by the endurance of the same sufferings which, we also, suffer; —
7 Àti pé ìrètí wa nípa tiyín dúró ṣinṣin, àwa si mọ̀ pé, bí ẹ̀yin ti jẹ alábápín nínú ìyà wa, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹ̀yin ń pín nínú ìtùnú náà pẹ̀lú.
And so, our hope, is sure in your behalf, —knowing that, —as ye are sharers of the sufferings, so, also of the encouragement.
8 Arákùnrin àti arábìnrin, àwa kò fẹ́ kí ẹ̀yin jẹ́ òpè nípa wàhálà tí ó dé bá wa ní agbègbè Asia, ní ti pé a pọ́n wa lójú gidigidi rékọjá agbára ìfaradà wa, tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí ìrètí kò tilẹ̀ sí fún ẹ̀mí wa mọ́.
For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, as to our tribulation which happened in Asia, —that, exceedingly, beyond power, were we weighed down, so that we despaired, even of life.
9 Nítòótọ́, nínú ọkàn wa a tilẹ̀ ní ìmọ̀lára wí pé a tí gba ìdálẹ́bi ikú, ṣùgbọ́n èyí farahàn láti má mú wa gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ara wa bí kò ṣe Ọlọ́run tí ń jí òkú dìde.
But, we ourselves, within ourselves, have had the sentence of death, that we might not rest our confidence upon ourselves, but upon God, who raiseth the dead,
10 Ẹni tí ó gbà wá kúrò nínú irú ikú tí ó tóbi bẹ́ẹ̀, yóò sí tún gbà wá; òun ní àwa gbẹ́kẹ̀lé pé yóò sí máa gbà wá síbẹ̀síbẹ̀,
Who, out of so great a death, rescued us, and will rescue, —unto whom we have turned our hope, [that], even yet, he will rescue:
11 bí ẹ̀yin pẹ̀lú ti ń fi àdúrà yín ràn wá lọ́wọ́. Àti pé ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn ni yóò dúpẹ́ nítorí wa fún oore-ọ̀fẹ́ ojúrere tí a rí gbà nípa ìdáhùn sí àdúrà ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ènìyàn.
Ye also labouring together on our behalf, by your supplication, that, unto many persons, being due the gift of favour, unto us, through means of many, might thanks be given in our behalf.
12 Nítorí èyí ní ìṣògo wá, ẹ̀rí láti inú ọkàn wa pẹ̀lú si jẹ́rìí wí pé àwa ń gbé ìgbésí ayé tí ó ní ìtumọ̀ pàápàá jùlọ nínú ìbágbépọ̀ wa pẹ̀lú yín, nínú ìwà mímọ́ àti òtítọ́ láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run wá. Kì í ṣe nípa ọgbọ́n ti ara ni àwa ń ṣe èyí bí kò ṣe nípa oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run.
For, our boasting, is, this, —the witness of our conscience, that, in sanctity and sincerity of God, [and] not in fleshly wisdom, but in God’s favour, have we behaved ourselves in the world, —and more abundantly towards you.
13 Nítorí pé àwa kò kọ̀wé ohun tí eyín kò lè kà àti ni mòye rẹ̀ sí yín. Mo sì tún ní ìrètí wí pé.
For, no other things, are we writing unto you, than what ye are either reading or even acknowledging, —I hope, moreover, that, throughout, ye will acknowledge,
14 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀yin pẹ̀lú ti ní ìmọ̀ nípa wa ní apá kan, bákan náà ni ẹ ó ní ìmọ̀ lẹ́kùnrẹ́rẹ́ tí ẹ ó sì fi wá yangàn, bí àwa pẹ̀lú yóò ṣe fi yín yangàn ní ọjọ́ Jesu Olúwa.
According as ye have also acknowledged us, in part, —that, your theme of boasting, we are, even indeed as, ye, also [shall be], ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
15 Nítorí mo ní ìdánilójú yìí wí pé, mo pinnu láti kọ́kọ́ bẹ̀ yín wò kí ẹ lè jẹ àǹfààní ìgbà méjì.
And, in this confidence, I purposed, before, to come unto you, —in order that, a second joy, ye might have, —
16 Mo pinnu láti bẹ̀ yín wò ní ìrìnàjò mi sí Makedonia àti láti tún bẹ̀ yín wò nígbà tí mo bá ń padà bọ̀ láti Makedonia àti wí pé kí ẹ̀yin kí ó lè rán mi láti ọ̀dọ̀ yín ní ìrìnàjò mi sí Judea.
And, by your means, to pass into Macedonia, and, again, from Macedonia, to come unto you, and, by you, be set forward unto Judea: —
17 Nítorí náà nígbà tí èmi ń gbèrò bẹ́ẹ̀, èmi ha ṣiyèméjì bí? Tàbí àwọn ohun tí mo pinnu, mo ha pinnu wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ti ará bí, pé kí ó jẹ́ “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ní, bẹ́ẹ̀ ní” àti “Bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́, bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́”?
This, then, being my purpose, perhaps, after all, with lightness, I dealt [with the matter]? or, the things that I purpose, according to the flesh, I purpose, —that, with me, should be the Yea, yea, and the Nay, nay?
18 Ṣùgbọ́n bí Ọlọ́run tí jẹ́ olóòtítọ́, ọ̀rọ̀ wa fún yín kí í ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àti bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́.
Faithful, however, is God, in that, our discourse, which was [delivered] unto you, is not Yea and Nay;
19 Nítorí pé Jesu Kristi, Ọmọ Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí a tí wàásù rẹ̀ láàrín yín nípasẹ̀ èmí àti Silfanu àti Timotiu, kì í ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ ni bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́, ṣùgbọ́n nínú rẹ̀ ni bẹ́ẹ̀ ní.
For, the Son of God, Christ Jesus—who, among you, through us, was proclaimed, —through me, and Silvanus, and Timothy, became not Yea and Nay, —but Yea, in him, hath it become;
20 Nítorí tí gbogbo ìlérí Ọlọ́run dí bẹ́ẹ̀ ni nínú Kristi. Nítorí ìdí èyí ní a ṣe ń wí pé “Àmín” nípasẹ̀ rẹ̀ sí ògo Ọlọ́run.
For, how many soever be the promises of God, in him, is the Yea, —wherefore also, through him, [be] the Amen, unto God, for glory, through us.
21 Ǹjẹ́ nísinsin yìí, Ọlọ́run ni ó fi ẹsẹ̀ wa múlẹ̀ pẹ̀lú yín nínú Kristi, Òun ni ó ti fi àmì òróró yàn wá,
Now, he that confirmeth us, together with you, for Christ, and hath anointed us, is God:
22 ó sì fi èdìdì rẹ̀ dì wá pẹ̀lú, ó sì tí fi Ẹ̀mí rẹ́ sí wa ní ọkàn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀rí ìdánilójú ohun tí ó ń bọ̀.
Who also hath sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
23 Mo sì pe Ọlọ́run ṣe ẹlẹ́rìí ọkàn mi pé nítorí àti dá yín sí ní èmi kò ṣe padà sí Kọrinti.
But, I, call upon God, as a witness, against my own soul, —that, to spare you, not yet, have I come unto Corinth:
24 Kì í ṣe nítorí tí àwa jẹ gàba lórí ìgbàgbọ́ yín, ṣùgbọ́n àwa ń ṣiṣẹ́ pọ̀ pẹ̀lú yín fún ayọ̀ yín nítorí nípa ìgbàgbọ́ ni ẹ̀yin dúró ṣinṣin.
Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are, helpers, of your joy, for, by your faith, ye stand.
