< 2 Chronicles 32 >

1 Lẹ́yìn gbogbo èyí ti Hesekiah ti fi òtítọ́ ṣe, Sennakeribu ọba Asiria wá ó sì gbógun ti Juda. Ó gbógun ti àwọn ìlú ààbò, ó ń ronú láti ṣẹ́gun wọn fún ara rẹ̀.
After these things, and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and camped against the fortified cities, and thought to win them for himself.
2 Nígbà tí Hesekiah rí i pé Sennakeribu ti wá, àti pé ó fẹ́ láti dá ogun sílẹ̀ lórí Jerusalẹmu,
When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that he intended to fight against Jerusalem,
3 Ó gbèrò pẹ̀lú àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀ àti àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀ láti di orísun omi ní ìta ìlú ńlá, wọ́n sì ràn án lọ́wọ́.
he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the springs which were outside of the city; and they helped him.
4 Ọ̀pọ̀ ogun ọkùnrin péjọ, wọ́n sì dí gbogbo àwọn orísun àti àwọn omi tó ń sàn tí ó ń sàn gba ti ilẹ̀ náà. “Kí ni ó dé tí àwọn ọba Asiria fi wá tí wọ́n sì rí ọ̀pọ̀ omi?” Wọ́n wí.
So many people gathered together, and they stopped all the springs, and the brook that flowed through the midst of the land, saying, "Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?"
5 Nígbà náà ó ṣiṣẹ́ gidigidi ní títún gbogbo ara ògiri tí ó ti bàjẹ́ ṣe, ó sì ń kọ́ àwọn ilé ìṣọ́ gíga sókè rẹ̀. Ó kọ́ ògiri mìíràn sí ìta. Ó sì tún pẹ̀lú ibi ìtẹ́jú ilé ní ti ìlú ńlá Dafidi. Ó ṣe ọ̀pọ̀ iye ohun ìjà àti àwọn àpáta.
He took courage, and built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised towers upon it, and the other wall outside, and strengthened Millo in the City of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance.
6 Ó yan àwọn ìjòyè ológun sórí àwọn ènìyàn, ó sì pè wọ́n jọ, níwájú rẹ̀ ní ìbámu ní ìlú ńlá ti Dafidi. Ó sì ki wọ́n láyà pẹ̀lú àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí:
He set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the broad place at the gate of the city, and spoke comfortably to them, saying,
7 “Ẹ jẹ́ alágbára, àti kí ẹ sì ní ìgboyà. Ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù tàbí ní ìrẹ̀wẹ̀sì ọkàn nítorí tí ọba Asiria àti ọ̀pọ̀ ọmọ-ogun pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, nítorí tí agbára ńlá wà pẹ̀lú wa ju òun lọ.
"Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude who is with him; for there is a greater with us than with him.
8 Agbára ẹran-ara nìkan ni ó wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ ṣùgbọ́n, Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa pẹ̀lú wa láti ràn wá lọ́wọ́ àti láti ja ìjà wa.” Àwọn ènìyàn sì ní ìgboyà láti ara ohun tí Hesekiah ọba Juda wí.
With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles." The people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
9 Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí Sennakeribu ọba Asiria àti gbogbo àwọn ogun rẹ̀ ń gbógun sí Lakiṣi. Ó rán àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀ sí Jerusalẹmu pẹ̀lú iṣẹ́ yí fún Hesekiah ọba Juda àti fún gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn Juda tí ó wà níbẹ̀:
After this, Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem, (now he was before Lachish, and all his power with him), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah who were at Jerusalem, saying,
10 “Èyí ni ohun tí Sennakeribu ọba Asiria wí, ‘Lórí kí ni ẹ̀yin gbé ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé yín lé, tí ẹ̀yin fi dúró sí Jerusalẹmu lábẹ́ ìgbógun sí?’
Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, "In whom do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem?
11 Nígbà tí Hesekiah wí pé, ‘Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa yóò gbà wá kúrò lọ́wọ́ ọba Asiria,’ ó ń ṣì yín tọ́ ṣọ́nà, kí ẹ bá lè kú fún ebi àti òǹgbẹ.
Doesn't Hezekiah persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, 'The LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?'
12 Ṣé Hesekiah fúnra rẹ̀ kò mú àwọn ọlọ́run ibi gíga àti àwọn pẹpẹ kúrò, tí ó ń wí fún Juda àti Jerusalẹmu pé, ‘Ẹ̀yin gbọdọ̀ sìn níwájú pẹpẹ kan àti láti sun àwọn ẹbọ lórí rẹ̀’?
Hasn't the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, 'You shall worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn incense?'
13 “Ṣé ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ ohun tí èmi àti àwọn baba mi ti ṣe sí gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ mìíràn? Ǹjẹ́ àwọn Ọlọ́run tí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè mìíràn ní agbára láti gba ilẹ̀ wọn kúrò lọ́wọ́ mi?
Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?
14 Ta ni nínú gbogbo àwọn òrìṣà orílẹ̀-èdè wọ̀nyí tí àwọn baba mi ti parun, tí ó le gbà ènìyàn rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́ mi, tí Ọlọ́run yín yóò fi le gbà yín lọ́wọ́ mi?
Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?
15 Nísinsin yìí, ẹ má ṣe jẹ́ kí Hesekiah ó tàn yín àti ṣì yín tọ́ ṣọ́nà báyìí. Ẹ má ṣe gbà á gbọ́, nítorí tí kò sí ọlọ́run orílẹ̀-èdè mìíràn tàbí ìjọba tí ó ní agbára láti gba àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ kúrò lọ́wọ́ mi tàbí lọ́wọ́ àwọn baba mi, mélòó mélòó wa ni Ọlọ́run yín tí yóò gbà yín kúrò lọ́wọ́ mi!”
Now therefore do not let Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you in this way, neither believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand?"
16 Àwọn ìjòyè Sennakeribu sọ̀rọ̀ síwájú sí i ní ìlòdì sí Olúwa Ọlọ́run àti sí ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ Hesekiah.
His servants spoke yet more against the LORD God, and against his servant Hezekiah.
17 Ọba pẹ̀lú sì kọ àwọn ìwé ní bíbú Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli àti ní sísọ èyí ní ìlòdì sí: “Ní gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ọlọ́run àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ mìíràn kò ṣe gba àwọn ènìyàn wọn kúrò lọ́wọ́ mi. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Ọlọ́run Hesekiah kì yóò gba àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ kúrò lọ́wọ́ mi.”
He also wrote letters insulting the LORD, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, "As the gods of the nations of the lands, which have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall the God of Hezekiah not deliver his people out of my hand."
18 Lẹ́yìn náà wọ́n pè jáde ní èdè Heberu sí àwọn ènìyàn Jerusalẹmu tí ó wà lára ògiri, láti dá ọjọ́ fún wọn, ki wọn kí ó lè fi agbára mú ìlú náà.
They cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.
19 Wọ́n sọ̀rọ̀ nípa Ọlọ́run Jerusalẹmu bí wọ́n ti ṣe nípa àwọn ọlọ́run àwọn ènìyàn mìíràn ti àgbáyé, iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ àwọn ènìyàn.
They spoke of the God of Jerusalem, as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men's hands.
20 Ọba Hesekiah àti wòlíì Isaiah ọmọ Amosi sọkún jáde nínú àdúrà sí ọ̀run nípa èyí.
Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.
21 Olúwa sì ran angẹli tí ó pa gbogbo àwọn ọmọ-ogun àti àwọn adarí àti àwọn ìjòyè tí ó wà nínú àgọ́ ọba Asiria run. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó padà sí ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ ní ìtìjú. Nígbà tí ó sì lọ sínú ilé ọlọ́run rẹ̀, díẹ̀ nínú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ gé e lulẹ̀ pẹ̀lú idà.
The LORD sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. When he had come into the house of his god, some of his own offspring killed him there with the sword.
22 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Olúwa yọ Hesekiah àti àwọn ènìyàn Jerusalẹmu kúrò lọ́wọ́ Sennakeribu ọba Asiria àti lọ́wọ́ gbogbo àwọn mìíràn. Ó tọ́jú wọn ní gbogbo ọ̀nà.
Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all others, and gave them rest on every side.
23 Ọ̀pọ̀ mú ọrẹ wá sí Jerusalẹmu fún Olúwa àti àwọn ẹ̀bùn iyebíye fún Hesekiah ọba Juda. Ó sì gbéga lójú gbogbo àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè lẹ́yìn náà.
Many brought gifts to the LORD to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah; so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.
24 Ní ọjọ́ wọ́n nì Hesekiah ṣe àárẹ̀, ó sì dójú ikú. Ó gbàdúrà sí Olúwa tí ó dá a lóhùn, tí ó sì fún un ní àmì àgbàyanu.
In those days Hezekiah was sick even to death: and he prayed to the LORD; and he spoke to him, and gave him a sign.
25 Ṣùgbọ́n ọkàn Hesekiah ṣe ìgbéraga, kò sì kọbi ara sí i inú rere tí a fihàn án. Nítorí náà, ìbínú Olúwa wà lórí rẹ̀ àti lórí Juda àti Jerusalẹmu.
But Hezekiah did not render again according to the benefit done to him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath on him, and on Judah and Jerusalem.
26 Nígbà náà ni Hesekiah ronúpìwàdà ní ti ìgbéraga ọkàn rẹ̀, àwọn ènìyàn Jerusalẹmu sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, nítorí náà, ìbínú Olúwa kò wá sí orí wọn ní ìgbà àwọn ọjọ́ Hesekiah.
Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.
27 Hesekiah ní ọ̀pọ̀ ọrọ̀ ńlá àti ọlá, ó sì ṣe àwọn ilé ìṣúra fún fàdákà àti wúrà rẹ̀ àti fún àwọn òkúta iyebíye rẹ̀, àwọn tùràrí olóòórùn dídùn àwọn àpáta àti gbogbo oríṣìí nǹkan iyebíye.
Hezekiah had a very great amount of riches and honor: and he provided him treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all kinds of goodly vessels;
28 Ó kọ́ àwọn ilé pẹ̀lú láti tọ́jú àwọn ọkà àwọn tí wọ́n ka, ọtí tuntun àti òróró; ó sì ṣe àwọn àtíbàbà fún oríṣìí àwọn ẹran ọ̀sìn àti àwọn àṣémọ́ fun àwọn ọ̀wọ̀ ẹran.
storehouses also for the increase of grain and new wine and oil; and stalls for all kinds of animals, and flocks in folds.
29 Ó kọ́ àwọn ìletò, ó sì gba ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn ọ̀wọ́ ẹran àti agbo ẹran, nítorí tí Ọlọ́run ti fún un ní ọ̀pọ̀ ọrọ̀ ńlá.
Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance; for God had given him very much substance.
30 Hesekiah ni ó dí ojú ìṣúra apá òkè ti orísun Gihoni. Ó sì gbe gba ìsàlẹ̀ sí ìhà ìwọ oòrùn ìlú ńlá ti Dafidi. Ó ṣe àṣeyọrí rere nínú gbogbo ohun tí ó dáwọ́lé.
This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper spring of the waters of Gihon, and brought them straight down on the west side of the City of David. Hezekiah prospered in all his works.
31 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí a rán àwọn oníṣẹ́ ọba wá láti Babeli láti bi í lérè nípa àmì ìyanu tí ó ṣẹlẹ̀ nì, Ọlọ́run fi sílẹ̀ láti dán an wò àti láti mọ gbogbo nǹkan tí ó wà lọ́kàn rẹ̀.
However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.
32 Gbogbo iṣẹ́ yòókù ti ìjọba Hesekiah àti àwọn ìṣe rẹ̀, ìfarajì rẹ̀ ni a kọ sínú ìwé ìran wòlíì Isaiah ọmọ Amosi nínú ìwé àwọn ọba Juda àti Israẹli
Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his good deeds, look, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
33 Hesekiah sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀. A sì sin ín sórí òkè níbi tí àwọn ibojì àwọn àtẹ̀lé Dafidi wà. Gbogbo Juda àti àwọn ènìyàn Jerusalẹmu ni ó bu ọlá fún un nígbà tí ó kú. Manase ọmọ rẹ̀ sì rọ́pò rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọba.
Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the ascent of the tombs of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honor at his death. Manasseh his son reigned in his place.
