< 2 Chronicles 27 >
1 Jotamu sì jẹ́ ẹni ọdún mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n nígbà tí ó jẹ ọba, ó sì di ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún ọdún mẹ́rìndínlógún. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ sì ni Jeruṣa ọmọbìnrin Sadoku.
Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerushah daughter of Zadok.
2 Ó sì ṣe ohun tí ó tọ́ ní ojú Olúwa, gẹ́gẹ́ bí baba rẹ̀ Ussiah ti ṣe, ṣùgbọ́n kìkì wí pé kò wọ ilé Olúwa. Àwọn ènìyàn síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ wọ́n ń ṣe iṣẹ́ ibi wọn.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Uzziah had done. In addition, he did not enter the temple of the LORD. But the people still behaved corruptly.
3 Jotamu sì kọ́ ẹnu-ọ̀nà gíga ilé Olúwa ó sì ṣe iṣẹ́ lórí odi ni pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ Ofeli.
Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD, and he worked extensively on the wall at the hill of Ophel.
4 Ó sì kọ́ àwọn ìlú ní Juda òkè àti nínú igbó àti ilé ìṣọ́, ó mọ ilé odi.
He also built cities in the hill country of Judah and fortresses and towers in the forests.
5 Jotamu sì ṣẹ́ ogun lórí ọba àwọn ará Ammoni ó sì borí wọn. Ní ọdún náà àwọn ará Ammoni wọ́n sì san fún ọgọ́rùn-ún tálẹ́ǹtì fàdákà àti ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá òsùwọ̀n alikama àti ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá barle. Àwọn ará Ammoni gbé e wá ní iye kan náà àti pẹ̀lú ní ọdún kejì àti ní ọdún kẹta.
Jotham waged war against the king of the Ammonites and defeated them, and that year they gave him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. They paid him the same in the second and third years.
6 Jotamu sì di alágbára nítorí ó rìn ní ọ̀nà tó tọ́ níwájú Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀.
So Jotham grew powerful because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.
7 Ìyókù iṣẹ́ ìjọba Jotamu, pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn ogun rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ohun mìíràn tí ó ṣe, ni a kọ sínú ìwé àwọn ọba Israẹli àti ti Juda.
As for the rest of the acts of Jotham, along with all his wars and his ways, they are indeed written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
8 Ó sì jẹ́ ẹni ọdún mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n nígbà tí ó jẹ ọba, ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún ọdún mẹ́rìndínlógún.
He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years.
9 Jotamu sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba a rẹ̀ a sì sin ín ní ìlú Dafidi, Ahasi ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
And Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. And his son Ahaz reigned in his place.
