< 2 Chronicles 26 >
1 Nígbà náà gbogbo ènìyàn Juda mú Ussiah, ẹni tí ó jẹ́ ẹni ọdún mẹ́rìndínlógún wọ́n sì fi jẹ ọba ní ipò baba rẹ̀ Amasiah.
All the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
2 Òun ni ẹni náà tí ó tún Elati kọ́, ó sì mú padà sí Juda lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí Amasiah ọba ti sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀.
He built Eilat, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
3 Ussiah sì jẹ́ ẹni ọdún mẹ́rìndínlógún nígbà tí ó di ọba, ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún ọdún méjìléláàádọ́ta. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ sì ni Jekoliah; ó sì wá láti Jerusalẹmu.
Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah, of Jerusalem.
4 Ó sì ṣe ohun tí ó tọ́ ní ojú Olúwa, gẹ́gẹ́ bi baba rẹ̀ Amasiah ti ṣe.
He did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.
5 Ó sì wá Olúwa ní ọjọ́ Sekariah, ẹni tí ó ní òye nínú ìran Ọlọ́run. Níwọ́n ọjọ́ tí ó wá ojú Olúwa, Ọlọ́run fún un ní ohun rere.
He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the fear of God, and as long as he sought Jehovah, God made him to prosper.
6 Ó sì lọ sí ogun pẹ̀lú Filistini ó sì wó odi Gati lulẹ̀, Jabne àti Aṣdodu. Ó sì kó ìlú rẹ̀ tí ó wà ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ Aṣdodu àti níbìkan láàrín àwọn ará Filistini.
He went forth and warred against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
7 Ọlọ́run sì ràn án lọ́wọ́ lórí àwọn ará Filistini àti Arabia tí ń gbé ní Gur-baali àti lórí àwọn ará Mehuni.
God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and the Meunites.
8 Àwọn ará Ammoni gbé ẹ̀bùn wá fún Ussiah, orúkọ rẹ̀ sì tàn káàkiri títí ó fi dé àtiwọ Ejibiti, nítorí ó ti di alágbára ńlá.
The Meunites gave tribute to Uzziah, and his name spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt; for he grew exceeding strong.
9 Ussiah sì kọ́ ilé ìṣọ́ ní Jerusalẹmu níbi ẹnu-bodè igun, àti níbi ẹnu-bodè àfonífojì àti níbi ìṣẹ́po odi ó sì mú wọn le
Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, and at the Valley Gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
10 Ó sì tún ilé ìṣọ́ aginjù kọ́, ó sì gbẹ́ kànga púpọ̀, nítorí ó ni ẹran ọ̀sìn púpọ̀ ní ilẹ̀ ìsàlẹ̀ àti ní pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀. Ó sì ní àwọn ènìyàn tí ń ṣiṣẹ́ ní pápá àti ọgbà àjàrà ní orí òkè ní ilẹ̀ ọlọ́ràá, nítorí ó fẹ́ràn àgbẹ̀ ṣíṣe.
He built towers in the wilderness, and dug out many cisterns, for he had many cattle; in the Shephelah and in the plain he had farmers, and vinedressers in the hills and in the fertile fields, for he loved the land.
11 Ussiah sì ní àwọn ẹgbẹ́ ogun tí wọ́n kọ́ dáradára, wọ́n múra tán láti lọ pẹ̀lú ẹgbẹgbẹ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí iye kíkà wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọwọ́ Jeieli akọ̀wé àti Maaseiah ìjòyè lábẹ́ ọwọ́ Hananiah, ọ̀kan lára àwọn olórí ogun ọba.
Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men, who went out to war by bands, according to the number of their reckoning made by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.
12 Àpapọ̀ iye olórí àwọn alágbára akọni ogun jẹ́ ẹgbẹ̀tàlá.
The whole number of the heads of ancestral houses, even the mighty men of valor, was two thousand and six hundred.
13 Lábẹ́ olórí àti olùdarí wọn, wọ́n sì jẹ́ alágbára akọni ogun ọ̀kẹ́ mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dógún ó lé ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbàárin, tí ó ti múra fún ogun ńlá náà, àti alágbára ńlá jagunjagun kan láti ran ọba lọ́wọ́ sí ọ̀tá rẹ̀.
Under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, who made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
14 Ussiah sì pèsè ọ̀kọ̀, asà, akọ́rọ́, àti ohun èlò ìhámọ́ra ọrun títí dé òkúta kànnàkànnà fún ọwọ́ àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the army, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, and stones for slinging.
15 Ní Jerusalẹmu ó sì ṣe ohun ẹ̀rọ ìjagun, iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ ọlọ́gbọ́n ènìyàn, láti wà lórí ilé ìṣọ́ àti lórí igun odi láti fi tafà àti láti fi sọ òkúta ńlá. Orúkọ rẹ̀ sì tàn káàkiri, nítorí a ṣe ìrànlọ́wọ́ ìyanu fún un títí ó fi di alágbára.
He made in Jerusalem engines, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and on the battlements, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. His name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, until he was strong.
16 Ṣùgbọ́n lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí Ussiah jẹ́ alágbára tán, ìgbéraga rẹ̀ sì gbé e ṣubú. Ó sì di aláìṣòótọ́ sí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀. Ó sì wọ ilé Olúwa láti sun tùràrí lórí pẹpẹ tùràrí.
But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly, and he trespassed against Jehovah his God; for he went into Jehovah's temple to burn incense on the altar of incense.
17 Asariah àlùfáà pẹ̀lú àwọn ọgọ́rin alágbára àlùfáà Olúwa mìíràn sì tẹ̀lé e.
Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of Jehovah, who were valiant men:
18 Wọ́n sì takò ọba Ussiah, wọn sì wí pé, “Kò dára fún ọ, Ussiah, láti sun tùràrí sí Olúwa. Èyí fún àwọn àlùfáà, àwọn ọmọ Aaroni, ẹni tí ó ti yà sí mímọ́ láti sun tùràrí. Fi ibi mímọ́ sílẹ̀, nítorí tí ìwọ ti jẹ́ aláìṣòótọ́, ìwọ kò sì ní jẹ́ ẹni ọlá láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa Ọlọ́run.”
and they resisted Uzziah the king, and said to him, "It isn't for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to Jehovah, but for the priests the descendants of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary; for you have trespassed; neither shall it be for your honor from Jehovah God."
19 Ussiah, ẹni tí ó ní àwo tùràrí ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀ tó ṣetán láti sun tùràrí sì bínú. Nígbà tí ó sì ń bínú sí àwọn àlùfáà níwájú wọn, níwájú pẹpẹ tùràrí ní ilé Olúwa, ẹ̀tẹ̀ sì yọ jáde ní iwájú orí rẹ̀.
Then Uzziah was angry; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense; and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke forth in his forehead before the priests in the house of Jehovah, beside the altar of incense.
20 Nígbà tí Asariah olórí àlùfáà àti gbogbo àwọn àlùfáà yòókù sì wò ó, wọ́n sì rí i wí pé ó ní ẹ̀tẹ̀ níwájú orí rẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n sì sáré gbé e jáde pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú, òun tìkára rẹ̀ ti fẹ́ láti jáde, nítorí tí Olúwa ti kọlù ú.
Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked on him, and look, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out quickly from there; yes, himself hurried also to go out, because Jehovah had struck him.
21 Ọba Ussiah sì ní ẹ̀tẹ̀ títí di ọjọ́ ikú rẹ̀. Ó sì gbé ní ilé àwọn adẹ́tẹ̀, a sì ké e kúrò ní ilé Olúwa. Jotamu ọmọ rẹ̀ sì gba ipò rẹ̀, ó sì ń ṣe ìdájọ́ lórí àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ náà.
Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of Jehovah: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.
22 Ìyókù iṣẹ́ ìjọba Ussiah láti ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ títí dé òpin, ni a kọ láti ọwọ́ wòlíì Isaiah ọmọ Amosi.
Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, wrote.
23 Ussiah sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba, rẹ̀ a sì sin sí ẹ̀gbẹ́ wọn nínú oko ìsìnkú fún ti iṣẹ́ tí àwọn ọba, nítorí àwọn ènìyàn wí pé “Ó ní ààrùn ẹ̀tẹ̀,” Jotamu ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, "He is a leper." Jotham his son reigned in his place.
