< 2 Chronicles 22 >
1 Àwọn ènìyàn Jerusalẹmu mú Ahasiah, ọmọ Jehoramu tí ó kéré jùlọ, jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀, láti ìgbà tí àwọn onísùnmọ̀mí, tí ó wá pẹ̀lú àwọn ará Arabia sínú ibùdó, tí wọn sì ti pa àwọn ọmọkùnrin àgbà. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Ahasiah ọmọ Jehoramu ọba Juda bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní jẹ ọba.
Then the inhabitants of Jerusalem appointed his youngest son, Ahaziah, as king in his place. For the robbers of the Arabians, who had fallen upon the camp, had put to death all those who were greater by birth before him. And so Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, reigned as king of Judah.
2 Ahasiah jẹ́ ẹni ọdún méjìlélógún nígbà tí ó di ọba. Ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún ọdún kan. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ a máa jẹ́ Ataliah, ọmọ ọmọbìnrin Omri.
Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for one year in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri.
3 Ó mú ìrìn ní ọ̀nà ilé Ahabu. Nítorí tí ìyá rẹ̀ kì í láyà nínú ṣíṣe búburú.
But he too went forth in the ways of the house of Ahab. For his mother impelled him to act impiously.
4 Ó ṣe búburú ní ojú Olúwa, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ilé Ahabu ti ṣe, nítorí lẹ́yìn ikú baba a rẹ̀, wọ́n di olùgbani nímọ̀ràn rẹ̀ sí ṣíṣe rẹ̀.
And so he did evil in the sight of the Lord, just as the house of Ahab did. For after the death of his father, they were counselors to him, to his destruction.
5 Ó tẹ̀lé ìgbìmọ̀ wọn nígbà tí ó lọ pẹ̀lú Joramu ọmọ Ahabu ọba Israẹli láti gbógun ti Hasaeli ọba Aramu ní Ramoti Gileadi. Àwọn ará Aramu ṣá Joramu ní ọgbẹ́;
And he walked in their counsels. And he went with Joram, the son of Ahab, the king of Israel, to war against Hazael, the king of Syria, at Ramoth Gilead. And the Syrians wounded Joram.
6 bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó padà sí Jesreeli láti wo ọgbẹ́ rẹ̀ sàn tí wọ́n ti dá sí i lára ní Rama ní ojú ogun rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú Hasaeli ọba Siria. Nígbà náà, Ahasiah, ọmọ Jehoramu ọba Juda lọ sí Jesreeli láti lọ rí Joramu ọmọ Ahabu nítorí a ti ṣá a lọ́gbẹ́.
And he returned, so that he might be cured at Jezreel. For he had received many wounds in the above-stated battle. And so Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, the king of Judah, descended, so that he might visit Joram, the son of Ahab, at Jezreel, while he was ill.
7 Ní gbogbo ìgbà ìbẹ̀wò Ahasiah sí Joramu, Ọlọ́run mú ìṣubú Ahasiah wá. Nígbà tí Ahasiah dé, ó jáde lọ pẹ̀lú Jehoramu láti lọ bá Jehu ọmọ Nimṣi, ẹni tí Olúwa ti fi àmì òróró yàn láti pa ìdílé Ahabu run.
Indeed, it was the will of God against Ahaziah that he would go to Joram, and when he had gone, that he also would go out with him against Jehu, the son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
8 Nígbà tí Jehu ń ṣe ìdájọ́ lórí ilé Ahabu, ó rí àwọn ọmọbìnrin ọba ti Juda àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin ìbátan Ahasi, tí ó ń tọ́jú Ahasiah, ó sì pa wọ́n.
Therefore, when Jehu was overthrowing the house of Ahab, he found the leaders of Judah, with the sons of the brothers of Ahaziah, who were ministering to him, and he put them to death.
9 Ó lọ láti wá Ahasiah, àti àwọn ọkùnrin rẹ̀. Àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ ṣẹ́gun rẹ̀ nígbà tí ó sá pamọ́ ní Samaria. A gbé e wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ Jehu, a sì pa á. Wọ́n sin ín nítorí wọ́n wí pé, “Ọmọkùnrin Jehoṣafati ni, ẹni tí ó wá Olúwa pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọkàn rẹ̀.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò sí ẹnìkan ní ilé Ahasiah tí ó lágbára láti gbé ìjọba náà dúró.
Also, while he himself was seeking Ahaziah, he found him to be hiding in Samaria. And having been led to him, he killed him. And they buried him, because he was the son of Jehoshaphat, who had sought the Lord with all his heart. But there was no longer any hope that someone from the stock of Ahaziah would reign.
10 Nígbà tí Ataliah ìyá Ahasiah rí i wí pé ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ ti kú, ó tẹ̀síwájú láti pa gbogbo ìdílé ọba ti ilẹ̀ Juda run.
For indeed, his mother, Athaliah, seeing that her son had died, rose up and killed the entire royal stock of the house of Jehoram.
11 Ṣùgbọ́n Jehoṣeba ọmọbìnrin ọba Jehoramu mú Joaṣi, ọmọkùnrin Ahasiah ó sì jí gbé lọ kúrò láàrín àwọn ọmọbìnrin ọba, àwọn tí ó kù díẹ̀ kí wọn pa. Wọn gbé òun àti olùtọ́jú rẹ̀ sínú ìyẹ̀wù. Nítorí Jehoṣeba ọmọbìnrin ọba Jehoramu àti ìyàwó àlùfáà Jehoiada jẹ́ arábìnrin Ahasiah. Ó fi ọmọ náà pamọ́ kúrò fún Ataliah, kí ó má ba à pa á.
But Jehosheba, the daughter of the king, took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from the midst the king’s sons when they were being slain. And she hid him with his nurse in a bedroom. Now Jehosheba, the one who had hidden him, was the daughter of king Jehoram, and the wife of the high priest Jehoiada, and the sister of Ahaziah. And because of this, Athaliah did not kill him.
12 Ó wà ní ìpamọ́ pẹ̀lú wọn ni ilé Ọlọ́run fún ọdún mẹ́fà nígbà tí Ataliah ṣàkóso ilẹ̀ náà.
Therefore, he was with them, hidden in the house of God, for six years, while Athaliah reigned over the land.
