< 2 Chronicles 17 >
1 Jehoṣafati ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀ ó sì mú ara rẹ̀ lágbára sí lórí Israẹli.
Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.
2 Ó sì fi ogun sínú gbogbo ìlú olódi Juda ó sì kó ẹgbẹ́ ológun ní Juda àti nínú ìlú Efraimu tí Asa baba rẹ̀ ti gbà.
He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
3 Olúwa sì wà pẹ̀lú Jehoṣafati nítorí, ní ọdún àkọ́kọ́ rẹ̀, ó rìn ní ọ̀nà ti baba rẹ̀ Dafidi ti rìn, kò sì fi ọ̀ràn lọ Baali.
The LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,
4 Ṣùgbọ́n ó wá Ọlọ́run baba rẹ̀ kiri ó sì tẹ̀lé àṣẹ rẹ̀ ju iṣẹ́ Israẹli.
but sought the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not in the ways of Israel.
5 Olúwa sì fi ìjọba rẹ̀ múlẹ̀ lábẹ́ àkóso rẹ̀, gbogbo Juda sì mú ẹ̀bùn wá fún Jehoṣafati, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó sì ní ọrọ̀ àti ọlá lọ́pọ̀lọ́pọ̀.
Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand. All Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honour in abundance.
6 Ọkàn rẹ̀ sì gbé sókè si ọ̀nà Olúwa, pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú, ó sì mú ibi gíga wọn àti ère òrìṣà Aṣerah kúrò ní Juda.
His heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD. Furthermore, he took away the high places and the Asherah poles out of Judah.
7 Ní ọdún kẹta ìjọba rẹ̀, ó rán àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀ Bene-Haili, Obadiah, Sekariah, Netaneli, Mikaiah láti máa kọ́ ni nínú ìlú Juda.
Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;

They taught in Judah, having the book of the LORD’s law with them. They went about throughout all the cities of Judah and taught amongst the people.
10 Ìbẹ̀rù Olúwa bà lórí gbogbo ìjọba ilẹ̀ tí ó yí Juda ká, dé bi pé wọn kò bá Jehoṣafati jagun.
The fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. The Arabians also brought him flocks: seven thousand and seven hundred rams and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
12 Jehoṣafati sì ń di alágbára nínú agbára sí i, ó sì kọ́ ilé olódi àti ilé ìṣúra púpọ̀ ní Juda
Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah.
13 Ó sì ní ìṣúra ní ìlú Juda. Ó sì tún ní àwọn alágbára jagunjagun akọni ọkùnrin ní Jerusalẹmu.
He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valour, in Jerusalem.

19 Wọ̀nyí ni àwọn ọkùnrin tí ń dúró níwájú ọba, ní àyíká àwọn ẹni tí ó fi sínú ìlú olódi ní àyíká gbogbo Juda.
These were those who waited on the king, in addition to those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
