< 2 Chronicles 13 >

1 Ní ọdún kejìdínlógún ìjọba Jeroboamu, Abijah di ọba Juda.
In the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.
2 Ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún ọdún mẹ́ta. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ a máa jẹ́ Mikaiah, ọmọbìnrin Urieli ti Gibeah. Ogun wà láàrín Abijah àti Jeroboamu.
He reigned three years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
3 Abijah lọ sí ojú ogun pẹ̀lú àwọn ọmọ-ogun ogún ọ̀kẹ́ ọkùnrin alágbára, Jeroboamu kó ogun jọ pẹ̀lú ogójì ọ̀kẹ́ ọ̀wọ́ ogun tí ó lágbára.
Abijah joined battle with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: and Jeroboam set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, who were mighty men of valor.
4 Abijah dúró lórí òkè Semaraimu ní òkè orílẹ̀-èdè Efraimu, ó sì wí pé, Jeroboamu àti gbogbo Israẹli, ẹ gbọ́ mi!
Abijah stood up on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, "Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel:
5 Ṣé ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ pé Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli ti fún Dafidi àti àwọn àtẹ̀lé rẹ̀ ni oyè ọba títí láé nípasẹ̀ májẹ̀mú iyọ̀?
Ought you not to know that the LORD, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his descendants by a covenant of salt?
6 Síbẹ̀ Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati, oníṣẹ́ Solomoni ọmọ Dafidi, ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí ọ̀gá rẹ̀.
Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord.
7 Àwọn ènìyàn lásán sì kó ara wọn jọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀, àwọn ọmọ ẹni búburú, wọ́n sì kẹ̀yìn sí Rehoboamu ọmọ Solomoni ní ìgbà tí ó sì kéré tí kò lè pinnu fúnra rẹ̀, tí kò lágbára tó láti takò wọ́n.
There were gathered to him worthless men, base fellows, who strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
8 “Nísinsin yìí, ìwọ ṣètò láti kọ́ ìjọba Olúwa, tí ó wà lọ́wọ́ àwọn àtẹ̀lé Dafidi. Ìwọ jẹ́ ọmọ-ogun tí ó gbilẹ̀, ìwọ sì ní pẹ̀lú rẹ ẹgbọrọ màlúù wúrà ti Jeroboamu dà láti fi ṣe Ọlọ́run yín.
"Now you think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the descendants of David; and you are a great multitude, and there are with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods.
9 Ṣùgbọ́n ṣé ìwọ kò lé àwọn àlùfáà Olúwa jáde, àwọn ọmọ Aaroni àti àwọn ará Lefi. Tí ó sì ṣe àwọn àlùfáà ti ara rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ mìíràn ti ṣe? Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá wá láti ya ara rẹ̀ sọ́tọ̀ pẹ̀lú ọ̀dọ́ akọ màlúù àti àgbò méjì lè jẹ́ àlùfáà ohun tí kì í ṣe Ọlọ́run.
Haven't you driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves after the ways of the peoples of other lands? so that whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams, the same may be a priest of those who are no gods.
10 “Ní ti àwa, Olúwa ni Ọlọ́run wa, àwa kò sì ti ì kọ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀. Àwọn àlùfáà tí ó ń sin Olúwa jẹ́ àwọn ọmọ Aaroni àwọn ará Lefi sì ń ràn wọ́n lọ́wọ́.
"But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and we have priests ministering to the LORD, the descendants of Aaron, and the Levites in their work:
11 Ní àràárọ̀ àti ìrọ̀lẹ́, wọ́n gbé ẹbọ sísun àti tùràrí olóòórùn dídùn síwájú Olúwa. Wọ́n gbé àkàrà jáde sórí tábìlì àsè mímọ́, wọ́n sì tan iná sí àwọn fìtílà lórí ìdúró ọ̀pá fìtílà wúrà ní gbogbo ìrọ̀lẹ́. A ń pa àṣẹ Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa mọ́. Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ ti kọ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀.
and they burn to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt offerings and sweet incense. They also set the show bread in order on the pure table; and the lampstand of gold with its lamps, to burn every evening: for we keep the instruction of the LORD our God; but you have forsaken him.
12 Ọlọ́run wà pẹ̀lú wa; òun ni olórí wa. Àwọn àlùfáà rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú fèrè wọn yóò fọn ìpè ogun sí i yín. Ẹyin ọkùnrin Israẹli, ẹ má ṣe dojú ìjà kọ Olúwa Ọlọ́run baba yín nítorí ẹ̀yin kì yóò yege.”
Look, God is with us at our head, and his priests with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. Children of Israel, do not fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers; for you shall not prosper."
13 Nísinsin yìí, Jeroboamu ti rán àwọn ọ̀wọ́ ogun lọ yíká láti jagun ẹ̀yìn. Kí ó lè jẹ́ pé, tí òun bá wà níwájú Juda, bíba ní bùba á wà ní ẹ̀yìn wọn.
But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.
14 Nígbà tí Juda sì bojú wo ẹ̀yìn, sì kíyèsi i, ogun ń bẹ níwájú àti lẹ́yìn, wọn sì ké pe Olúwa, àwọn àlùfáà sì fun ìpè.
When Judah looked back, look, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
15 Olúkúlùkù, ọkùnrin Juda sì fún ìpè ogun, ó sì ṣe, bí àwọn ọkùnrin Juda sì ti fun ìpè ogun, ni Ọlọ́run kọlu Jeroboamu àti gbogbo Israẹli níwájú Abijah àti Juda.
Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened, that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
16 Àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sálọ kúrò níwájú Juda, Ọlọ́run sì fi wọ́n lé wọn lọ́wọ́.
The children of Israel fled before Judah; and God delivered them into their hand.
17 Abijah àti àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ fi ìdààmú ńlá jẹ wọ́n ní ìyà, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọ̀kẹ́ mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n ọkùnrin tí a yàn ṣubú ní pípa nínú Israẹli.
Abijah and his people killed them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
18 Báyìí ni a rẹ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sílẹ̀ ní àkókò náà, àwọn ọmọ Juda sì borí nítorí tí wọ́n gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn baba wọn.
Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the people of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers.
19 Abijah sì lépa Jeroboamu, ó sì gba ìlú lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀, Beteli pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú rẹ̀, àti Jeṣana pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú rẹ̀, àti Efroni pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú rẹ̀.
Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with its towns, and Jeshanah with its towns, and Ephron with its towns.
20 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ní Jeroboamu kò sì tún ní agbára mọ́ ní ọjọ́ Abijah. Olúwa sì lù ú ó sì kú.
Jeroboam did not recover strength again in the days of Abijah. The LORD struck him, and he died.
21 Abijah sì di alágbára, ó sì gbé obìnrin mẹ́tàlá ní ìyàwó, ó sì bi ọmọkùnrin méjìlélógún, àti ọmọbìnrin mẹ́rìndínlógún.
But Abijah grew mighty, and took to himself fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons, and sixteen daughters.
22 Àti ìyókù ìṣe Abijah, àti ìwà rẹ̀, àti iṣẹ́ rẹ̀, a kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ìtumọ̀, wòlíì Iddo.
The rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the commentary of the prophet Iddo.
