< 2 Chronicles 12 >

1 Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí a fi ìjọba Rehoboamu múlẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọba, tí ó sì ti di alágbára, òun àti gbogbo Israẹli, pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ ni wọ́n pa òfin Olúwa tì.
It happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him.
2 Nítorí tí wọn kò ṣọ òtítọ́ sí Olúwa. Ṣiṣaki ọba Ejibiti dojúkọ Jerusalẹmu ní ọdún karùn-ún ti ọba Rehoboamu.
It happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Jehovah,
3 Pẹ̀lú ẹgbàá mẹ́fà kẹ̀kẹ́ àti ọ̀kẹ́ mẹ́ta àwọn ọkùnrin ẹlẹ́ṣin àti àìníye ọ̀wọ́ ogun ti Libia, Sukki àti Kuṣi, tí ó wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ láti Ejibiti.
with twelve hundred chariots, and sixty thousand horsemen. The people were without number who came with him out of Egypt: the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.
4 Ó fi agbára mú àwọn ìlú ààbò ti Juda, pẹ̀lú wá sí Jerusalẹmu bí ó ti jìnnà tó.
He took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
5 Nígbà náà, wòlíì Ṣemaiah wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ Rehoboamu àti sí ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn olórí Juda tí wọ́n ti péjọ ní Jerusalẹmu nítorí ìbẹ̀rù Ṣiṣaki, ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: ìwọ ti pa mí tì; nítorí náà èmi náà ti pa yín tì sí ọ̀dọ̀ Ṣiṣaki.”
And Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the leaders of Judah, who were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says Jehovah, 'You have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.'"
6 Àwọn olórí Israẹli àti ọba rẹ̀ ará wọn sílẹ̀, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Olódodo ni Olúwa.”
Then the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, "Jehovah is righteous."
7 Nígbà tí Olúwa rí i pé, wọ́n ti rẹ̀ ara wọn sílẹ̀ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa yí tọ Ṣemaiah lọ pé, “Níwọ́n ìgbà tí wọ́n ti rẹ ara wọn sílẹ̀, Èmi kì yóò pa wọ́n ṣùgbọ́n, yóò fún wọn ní ìtúsílẹ̀ tó bá yá. Ìbínú mi kì yóò dà sórí Jerusalẹmu ní ipasẹ̀ Ṣiṣaki.
When Jehovah saw that they humbled themselves, the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah, saying, "They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them; but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
8 Bí ó ti wù kí ó rí, wọn yóò sìn ní abẹ́ rẹ̀, kí wọn kí ó lè mọ̀ ìyàtọ̀ láàrín sí sìn mí àti sí sin àwọn ọba ilẹ̀ mìíràn.”
Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries."
9 Nígbà tí Ṣiṣaki ọba Ejibiti dojúkọ Jerusalẹmu, ó gbé àwọn ìṣúra ilé Olúwa, àti àwọn ìṣúra ààfin ọba. Ó gbé gbogbo rẹ̀, pẹ̀lú àwọn àpáta wúrà tí Solomoni dá.
So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house. He took it all away. He also took away the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
10 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, ọba Rehoboamu dá àwọn àpáta idẹ láti fi dípò wọn, ó sì fi èyí lé àwọn alákòóso àti olùṣọ́ tí ó wà ní ẹnu iṣẹ́ ní àbáwọlé ẹnu-ọ̀nà ààfin ọba lọ́wọ́.
King Rehoboam made in their place shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king's house.
11 Ìgbàkígbà tí ọba bá lọ sí ilé Olúwa, àwọn olùṣọ́ n lọ pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, wọ́n ń gbé àwọn àpáta náà àti lẹ́yìn, wọ́n dá wọn padà sí yàrá ìṣọ́.
It was so, that as often as the king entered into the house of Jehovah, the guard came and bore them, and brought them back into the guard room.
12 Nítorí ti Rehoboamu rẹ ara rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, ìbínú Olúwa yí padà kúrò lórí rẹ̀, a kò sì pa á run pátápátá. Nítòótọ́, ìre díẹ̀ wà ní Juda.
When he humbled himself, the wrath of Jehovah turned from him, so as not to destroy him altogether: and moreover in Judah there were good things found.
13 Ọba Rehoboamu fi ara rẹ̀ lélẹ̀ gidigidi ní Jerusalẹmu, ó sì tẹ̀síwájú gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọba. Ó jẹ́ ẹni ọdún mọ́kànlélógójì nígbà tí ó di ọba. Ó sì jẹ ọba fún ọdún mẹ́tàdínlọ́gbọ̀n ní Jerusalẹmu, ìlú ńlá tí Olúwa ti yàn jáde kúrò nínú gbogbo àwọn ẹ̀yà Israẹli ní èyí tí ó fẹ́ fi orúkọ rẹ̀ síbẹ̀. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ ni Naama, ará Ammoni.
So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Jehovah had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.
14 O sì ṣe búburú, nítorí tí kò múra nínú ọkàn rẹ̀ láti wá Olúwa.
He did that which was evil, because he did not set his heart to seek Jehovah.
15 Fún tí iṣẹ́ ìjọba Rehoboamu láti ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ dé ìparí, ṣé a kò kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ìrántí ti Ṣemaiah wòlíì àti ti Iddo, aríran tí ó ní ṣe pẹ̀lú ìtàn ìdílé láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn baba ńlá? Ìtẹ̀síwájú ogun jíjà sì wà láàrín Rehoboamu àti Jeroboamu.
Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, aren't they written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, after the way of genealogies? There were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
16 Rehoboamu sun pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀ a sin ín sínú ìlú ńlá ti Dafidi. Abijah ọmọ rẹ̀ sì rọ́pò rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọba.
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, and he was buried in the City of David. And Abijah his son reigned in his place.
