< 2 Chronicles 1 >

1 Solomoni ọmọ Dafidi fìdí ara rẹ̀ múlẹ̀ ṣinṣin lórí ìjọba rẹ̀. Nítorí tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ wà pẹ̀lú u rẹ̀, ó sì jẹ́ kí ó ga lọ́pọ̀lọ́pọ̀.
And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God [was] with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
2 Nígbà náà, Solomoni bá gbogbo Israẹli sọ̀rọ̀ sí àwọn alákòóso ẹgbẹẹgbẹ̀rún àti àwọn alákòóso ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún, sí àwọn adájọ́ àti sí gbogbo àwọn olórí Israẹli, àwọn olórí ìdílé
Then Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
3 pẹ̀lú Solomoni, àti gbogbo àpéjọ lọ sí ibi gíga ní Gibeoni, nítorí àgọ́ Ọlọ́run fún pípàdé wà níbẹ̀, tí Mose ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa ti pa ní aginjù.
So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that [was] at Gibeon: for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
4 Nísinsin yìí, Dafidi ti gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run wá láti Kiriati-Jearimu sí ibi tí ó ti pèsè fún un, nítorí ó ti kọ́ àgọ́ fún un ni Jerusalẹmu.
But the ark of God David had brought up from Kirjath-jearim to [the place which] David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
5 Ṣùgbọ́n pẹpẹ idẹ tí Besaleli ọmọ Uri, ọmọ Huri, ti ṣe wà ní Gibeoni níwájú àgọ́ Olúwa, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Solomoni àti gbogbo àpéjọ béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀ níbẹ̀.
Moreover the brazen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregation sought to it.
6 Solomoni gòkè lọ sí ibi pẹpẹ idẹ níwájú Olúwa ní ibi àgọ́ ìpàdé, ó sì rú ẹgbẹ̀rún ẹbọ sísun lórí rẹ̀.
And Solomon went up thither to the brazen altar before the LORD, which [was] at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt-offerings upon it.
7 Ní òru ọjọ́ náà, Ọlọ́run farahàn Solomoni, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Béèrè fún ohunkóhun tí ìwọ bá fẹ́ kí n fún ọ.”
In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, Ask what I shall give thee.
8 Solomoni dá Ọlọ́run lóhùn pé, “Ìwọ ti fi àánú ńlá han Dafidi baba mi, ìwọ sì ti fi mí jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
And Solomon said to God, Thou hast shown great mercy to David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
9 Nísinsin yìí Olúwa Ọlọ́run, jẹ́ kí ìlérí rẹ sí baba à mi Dafidi wá sí ìmúṣẹ, nítorí ìwọ ti fi mí jẹ ọba lórí àwọn ènìyàn tí ó pọ̀ bí erùpẹ̀ ilẹ̀.
Now, O LORD God, let thy promise to David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10 Fún mi ní ọgbọ́n àti ìmọ̀, kí èmi kí ó lè máa wọ ilé kí ń sì máa jáde níwájú ènìyàn wọ̀nyí, nítorí ta ni ó le è ṣàkóso àwọn ènìyàn rẹ tí ó pọ̀ yanturu wọ̀nyí?”
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy great people?
11 Ọlọ́run wí fún Solomoni pé, “Níwọ́n ìgbà tí ó jẹ́ pé ìfẹ́ ọkàn rẹ nìyí, tí ìwọ kò sì béèrè, fún ọrọ̀, ọlá tàbí ọ̀wọ̀, tàbí fún ikú àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ, àti nígbà tí ìwọ kò ti béèrè fún ẹ̀mí gígùn, ṣùgbọ́n tí ìwọ béèrè fún ọgbọ́n àti ìmọ̀ láti ṣàkóso àwọn ènìyàn mi tí èmi fi ọ́ jẹ ọba lé lórí.
And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of thy enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12 Nítorí náà, ọgbọ́n àti ìmọ̀ ni a ó fi fún ọ, Èmi yóò sì fún ọ ní ọrọ̀, ọlá àti ọ̀wọ̀, irú èyí tí ọba ti ó wà ṣáájú rẹ kò ní, tí àwọn tí ń bọ̀ lẹ́yìn rẹ kò sì ní ní irú rẹ̀.”
Wisdom and knowledge [are] granted to thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that [have been] before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
13 Nígbà náà ni Solomoni sì ti ibi gíga Gibeoni lọ sí Jerusalẹmu láti iwájú àgọ́ ìpàdé. Ó sì jẹ ọba lórí Israẹli.
Then Solomon came [from his journey] to the high place that [was] at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
14 Solomoni kó kẹ̀kẹ́ àti ẹṣin jọ, ó sì ní ẹgbàáje kẹ̀kẹ́ àti ẹgbàá mẹ́fà ẹlẹ́ṣin, tí ó kó pamọ́ sí ìlú kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun àti pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ ni Jerusalẹmu.
And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
15 Ọba náà ṣe fàdákà àti wúrà gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti wọ́pọ̀ ní Jerusalẹmu bí òkúta, àti kedari ó pọ̀ bí igi sikamore ní àwọn ẹsẹ̀ òkè.
And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem [as plenteous] as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycamore trees that [are] in the vale for abundance.
16 Àwọn ẹṣin Solomoni ní a gbà láti ìlú òkèrè Ejibiti àti láti kún ọ̀gbọ̀ oníṣòwò ti ọba ni gba okun náà ní iye kan.
And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
17 Wọ́n ra kẹ̀kẹ́ kan láti Ejibiti. Fún ẹgbẹ̀ta ṣékélì fàdákà àti ẹṣin kan fún ọgọ́rin méjìdínláàádọ́ta. Wọ́n ko wọn lọ sọ́dọ̀ àwọn ọba mìíràn ti Hiti àti ti àwọn ará Aramu.
And they fetched up, and brought out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty: and so they brought out [horses] for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.
