< 1 Samuel 7 >

The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of Jehovah and brought it into the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of Jehovah.
2 Ó sì jẹ́ ní ìgbà pípẹ́, ogún ọdún ni àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa fi wà ní Kiriati-Jearimu. Gbogbo ilé Israẹli ṣọ̀fọ̀ wọ́n sì pohùnréré ẹkún sí Olúwa.
It happened, from the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after Jehovah.
3 Samuẹli sọ fún gbogbo ilé Israẹli pé, “Tí ẹ bá ń padà sí ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọkàn yín, ẹ yẹra kúrò lọ́dọ̀ ọlọ́run àjèjì àti Aṣtoreti kí ẹ sì fi ara yín jì fún Olúwa kí ẹ sì sin òun nìkan ṣoṣo, òun yóò sì gbà yín kúrò lọ́wọ́ àwọn ará Filistini.”
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you do return to Jehovah with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to Jehovah, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."
4 Nígbà náà ni àwọn ọmọ Israẹli yẹra fún Baali àti Aṣtoreti, wọ́n sì sin Olúwa nìkan ṣoṣo.
Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served Jehovah only.
5 Nígbà náà ni, Samuẹli wí pé, “Ẹ kó gbogbo àwọn ọmọ Israẹli jọ sí Mispa, èmi yóò bẹ̀bẹ̀ fún un yín lọ́dọ̀ Olúwa.”
Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you to Jehovah."
6 Nígbà tí wọ́n sì ti péjọpọ̀ ní Mispa, wọ́n pọn omi, wọ́n sì dà á sílẹ̀ níwájú Olúwa. Ní ọjọ́ náà, wọ́n gbààwẹ̀, wọ́n sì jẹ́wọ́ pé, “Àwa ti ṣẹ̀ sí Olúwa.” Samuẹli sì jẹ́ olórí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ní Mispa.
They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before Jehovah, and fasted on that day, and said, "We have sinned against Jehovah." Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 Nígbà tí àwọn Filistini gbọ́ pé àwọn Israẹli ti péjọ ní Mispa, àwọn aláṣẹ Filistini gòkè wá láti kọlù wọ́n. Nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli gbọ́ èyí, ẹ̀rù bà wọ́n nítorí àwọn Filistini.
When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 Wọ́n sọ fún Samuẹli pé, “Má ṣe dákẹ́ kíké pe Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa fún wa, ké pè é kí ó lè gbà wá kúrò lọ́wọ́ àwọn Filistini.”
The children of Israel said to Samuel, "Do not cease to cry to Jehovah your God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines."
9 Nígbà náà ni Samuẹli mú ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn tí ó jẹ́ ọmọ ọmú, ó sì fi rú ẹbọ sísun sí Olúwa. Ó sí ké pe Olúwa nítorí ilé Israẹli, Olúwa sì dá a lóhùn.
Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to Jehovah: and Samuel cried to Jehovah for Israel; and Jehovah answered him.
10 Nígbà tí Samuẹli ń ṣe ìrúbọ ẹbọ sísun, àwọn Filistini súnmọ́ tòsí láti bá Israẹli ja ogun. Ṣùgbọ́n ní ọjọ́ náà, Olúwa sán àrá ńlá lu àwọn Filistini, ó sì mú jìnnìjìnnì bá wọn, a sì lé wọn níwájú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli.
As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but Jehovah thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines, and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.
11 Àwọn ọkùnrin Israẹli tú jáde láti Mispa. Wọ́n sì ń lépa àwọn Filistini, wọ́n sì pa wọ́n ní àpá rìn títí dé abẹ́ Beti-Kari.
The men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them, as far as below Beth Kar.
12 Samuẹli mú òkúta kan ó sì fi lélẹ̀ láàrín Mispa àti Ṣeni, ó sì pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Ebeneseri, wí pé, “Ibí ni Olúwa ràn wá lọ́wọ́ dé.”
Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Jashan, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, "Jehovah helped us until now."
13 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n ṣẹ́gun Filistini, wọn kò sì wá sí agbègbè àwọn ọmọ Israẹli mọ́. Ní gbogbo ìgbésí ayé Samuẹli, ọwọ́ Olúwa lòdì sí àwọn Filistini.
So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more within the territory of Israel. The hand of Jehovah was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 Àwọn ìlú láti Ekroni dé Gati tí àwọn Filistini ti gbà lọ́wọ́ Israẹli ni ó ti gbà padà fún Israẹli, ó sì gba gbogbo ilẹ̀ agbègbè rẹ̀ kúrò lọ́wọ́ ìṣàkóso àwọn Filistini. Ìrẹ́pọ̀ sì wà láàrín Israẹli àti àwọn Amori.
The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Samuẹli tẹ̀síwájú gẹ́gẹ́ bí adájọ́ lórí Israẹli. Ní ọjọ́ ayé e rẹ̀.
Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 Láti ọdún dé ọdún, ó lọ yíká láti Beteli dé Gilgali dé Mispa, ó sì ń ṣe ìdájọ́ Israẹli ní gbogbo ibi wọ̀nyí.
He went from year to year in circuit to Bethel and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n ó máa ń padà sí ilé rẹ̀ ní Rama, níbí tí ilé rẹ̀ wà, ó sì túnṣe ìdájọ́ Israẹli níbẹ̀, ó sì kọ́ pẹpẹ kan síbẹ̀ fún Olúwa.
His return was to Ramah, for there was his house; and there he judged Israel: and he built there an altar to Jehovah.
