< 1 Samuel 30 >
1 Ó sì ṣe nígbà ti Dafidi àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ sì bọ̀ sí Siklagi ní ọjọ́ kẹta, àwọn ará Amaleki sì ti kọlu ìhà gúúsù, àti Siklagi, wọ́n sì ti kùn ún ní iná.
And it came to pass when David and his men had entered Sekelac on the third day, that Amalec had made an incursion upon the south, and upon Sekelac, and smitten Sekelac, and burnt it with fire.
2 Wọ́n sì kó àwọn obìnrin tí ń bẹ nínú rẹ̀ ní ìgbèkùn, wọn kò sì pa ẹnìkan, ọmọdé tàbí àgbà, ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n kó wọn lọ, wọ́n sì bá ọ̀nà tiwọn lọ.
And as to the women and all things that were in it, great and small, they slew neither man nor woman, but carried them captives, and went on their way.
3 Dafidi àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin sì wọ ìlú Siklagi, sì wò ó, a ti kùn ún ni iná; àti obìnrin wọn, àti ọmọkùnrin wọn àti ọmọbìnrin wọn ni a kó ni ìgbèkùn lọ.
And David and his men came into the city, and, behold, it was burnt with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters were carried captive.
4 Dafidi àti àwọn ènìyàn tí ó wà lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ sì gbé ohùn wọn sókè, wọ́n sì sọkún títí agbára kò fi sí fún wọn mọ́ láti sọkún.
And David and his men lifted up their voice, and wept till there was no longer any power within them to weep.
5 A sì kó àwọn aya Dafidi méjèèjì nígbèkùn lọ, Ahinoamu ará Jesreeli àti Abigaili aya Nabali ará Karmeli.
And both the wives of David were carried captive, Achinaam, the Jezraelitess, and Abigaia the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 Dafidi sì banújẹ́ gidigidi, nítorí pé àwọn ènìyàn náà sì ń sọ̀rọ̀ láti sọ ọ́ lókùúta, nítorí ti inú gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà sì bàjẹ́, olúkúlùkù ọkùnrin nítorí ọmọ rẹ̀ ọkùnrin, àti nítorí ọmọ rẹ̀ obìnrin ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi mú ara rẹ̀ lọ́kàn le nínú Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀.
And David was greatly distressed, because the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, each for his sons and his daughters: but David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
7 Dafidi sì wí fún Abiatari àlùfáà, ọmọ Ahimeleki pé, èmí bẹ̀ ọ́, mú efodu fún mi wá níhìn-ín yìí. Abiatari sì mú efodu náà wá fún Dafidi.
And David said to Abiathar the priest the son of Achimelech, Bring near the ephod.
8 Dafidi sì béèrè lọ́dọ̀ Olúwa wí pé, “Kí èmi ó lépa ogun yìí bi? Èmi lè bá wọn?” Ó sì dá a lóhùn pé, “Lépa, nítorí pé ni bíbá ìwọ yóò bá wọn, ni gbígbà ìwọ yóò sì rí wọn gbà.”
And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? and he said to him, Pursue, for thou shalt surely overtake them, and thou shalt surely rescue [the captives].
9 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Dafidi àti ẹgbẹ̀ta ọmọkùnrin tí ń bẹ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ sì wá sí ibi àfonífojì Besori, apá kan sì dúró.
So David went, he an the six hundred men with him, an they come as far as the brook Bosor, and the superfluous ones stopped.
10 Ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi àti irinwó ọmọkùnrin lépa wọn: igba ènìyàn tí àárẹ̀ mú, tiwọn kò lè kọjá odò Besori sì dúró lẹ́yìn.
And he pursued them with four hundred men; and there remained behind two hundred men, who tarried on the other side of the brook Bosor.
11 Wọ́n sì rí ará Ejibiti kan ní oko, wọ́n sì mú un tọ Dafidi wá, wọ́n sì fún un ní oúnjẹ, ó sì jẹ; wọ́n sì fún un ní omi mu.
And they find an Egyptian in the field, and they take him, and bring him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they caused him to drink water.
12 Wọ́n sì fún un ní àkàrà, èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ àti síírí àjàrà gbígbẹ́ méjì: nígbà tí ó sì jẹ ẹ́ tán, ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ sì sọjí: nítorí pé kò jẹ oúnjẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò sì mu omi ní ọjọ́ mẹ́ta ní ọ̀sán, àti ní òru.
And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and he ate, and his spirit was restored in him; for he had not eaten bread, and had not drunk water three days and three nights.
13 Dafidi sì bi í léèrè pé, “Ọmọ ta ni ìwọ? Àti níbo ni ìwọ ti wá?” Òun sì wí pé, “Ọmọ ará Ejibiti ni èmi, ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ ọkùnrin kan ará Amaleki. Olúwa mi fi mí sílẹ̀, nítorí pé láti ọjọ́ mẹ́ta ni èmi ti ṣe àìsàn.
And David said to him, Whose art thou? and whence art thou? and the young man the Egyptian said, I am the servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me, because I was taken ill three days ago.
14 Àwa sì gbé ogun lọ sí ìhà gúúsù tí ará Kereti, àti sí ìhà ti Juda, àti sí ìhà gúúsù ti Kalebu; àwa sì kun Siklagi ní iná.”
And we made an incursion on the south of the Chelethite, and on the parts of Judea, and on the south of Chelub, and we burnt Sekelac with fire.
15 Dafidi sì bi í léèrè pé, “Ìwọ lè mú mí sọ̀kalẹ̀ tọ ẹgbẹ́ ogun yìí lọ bí?” Òun sì wí pé, “Fi Ọlọ́run búra fún mi pé, ìwọ kì yóò pa mí, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìwọ kì yóò sì fi mi lé olúwa mi lọ́wọ́; èmi yóò sì mú ọ sọ̀kalẹ̀ tọ ẹgbẹ́ ogun náà lọ.”
And David said to him, Wilt thou bring me down to this troop? And he said, Swear now to me by God, that thou wilt not kill me, and that thou wilt not deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down upon this troop.
16 Ó sì mú un sọ̀kalẹ̀, sì wò ó, wọ́n sì tàn ká ilẹ̀, wọ́n ń jẹ, wọ́n ń mu, wọ́n sì ń jó, nítorí ìkógun púpọ̀ tí wọ́n kó láti ilẹ̀ àwọn Filistini wá, àti láti ilẹ̀ Juda.
So be brought him down thither, and behold, they [were] scattered abroad upon the surface of the whole land, eating and drinking, and feasting by [reason of] all the great spoils which they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Juda.
17 Dafidi sì pa wọ́n láti àfẹ̀mọ́júmọ́ títí ó fi di àṣálẹ́ ọjọ́ kejì: kò sí ẹnìkan tí ó là nínú wọn, bí kọ̀ ṣe irinwó ọmọkùnrin tí wọ́n gun ìbákasẹ tí wọ́n sì sá.
And David came upon them, and smote them from the morning till the evening, and on the next day; and not one of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who were mounted on camels, and fled.
18 Dafidi sì gbà gbogbo nǹkan tí àwọn ará Amaleki ti kó: Dafidi sì gba àwọn obìnrin rẹ̀ méjèèjì.
And David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and he rescued both his wives.
19 Kò sì ṣí nǹkan tí ó kù fún wọn, kékeré tàbí ńlá, ọmọkùnrin tàbí ọmọbìnrin, tàbí ìkógun, tàbí gbogbo nǹkan tí wọ́n ti kó: Dafidi sì gba gbogbo wọn.
And nothing was wanting to them of great or small, either of the spoils, or the sons and daughters, or anything that they had taken of theirs; and David recovered all.
20 Dafidi sì kó gbogbo àgùntàn, àti màlúù tí àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ dà ṣáájú àwọn ẹran ọ̀sìn mìíràn tí wọ́n gbà, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Èyí yìí ni ìkógun ti Dafidi.”
And he took all the flocks, and the herds, and led them away before the spoils: and it was said of these spoils, These [are] the spoils of David.
21 Dafidi sì wá sọ́dọ̀ igba ọkùnrin tí àárẹ̀ ti mú jú, tiwọn kò lè tọ́ Dafidi lẹ́yìn mọ́, ti òun ti fi sílẹ̀, ni àfonífojì Besori: wọ́n sì lọ pàdé Dafidi, àti láti pàdé àwọn ènìyàn tí ó lọ pẹ̀lú rẹ̀: Dafidi sì pàdé àwọn ènìyàn náà, ó sì kí wọn.
And David comes to the two hundred men who were left behind that they should not follow after David, and he had caused them to remain by the brook of Bosor; and they came forth to meet David, and to meet his people with him: and David drew near to the people, and they asked him how he did.
22 Gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn búburú àti àwọn ọmọ Beliali nínú àwọn tí o bá Dafidi lọ sì dáhùn, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Bí wọn kò ti bá wa lọ, àwa ki yóò fi nǹkan kan fún wọn nínú ìkógun ti àwa rí gbà bí kò ṣe obìnrin olúkúlùkù wọn, àti ọmọ wọn; ki wọn sì mú wọn, ki wọn sì máa lọ.”
Then every ill-disposed and bad man of the soldiers who had gone with David, answered and said, Because they did not pursue together with us, we will not give them of the spoils which we have recovered, only let each one lead away with him his wife and his children, and let them return.
23 Dafidi sì wí pé, “Ẹ má ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, ẹ̀yin ara mi: Olúwa ni ó fi nǹkan yìí fún wa, òun ni ó sì pa wá mọ́, òun ni ó sì fi ẹgbẹ́ ogun ti ó dìde sí wa lé wa lọ́wọ́.
And David said, Ye shall not do so, after the Lord has delivered [the enemy] to us, and guarded us, and the Lord has delivered into our hands the troop that came against u.
24 Ta ni yóò gbọ́ tiyín nínú ọ̀ràn yìí? Ṣùgbọ́n bi ìpín ẹni tí ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ si ìjà ti rí, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìpín ẹni ti ó dúró ti ẹrù; wọn ó sì pín in bákan náà.”
And who will hearken to these your words? for they are not inferior to us; for according to the portion of him that went down to the battle, so shall be the portion of him that abides with the baggage; they shall share alike.
25 Láti ọjọ́ náà lọ, ó sì pàṣẹ, ó sì sọ ọ di òfin fún Israẹli títí di òní yìí.
And it came to pass from that day forward, that it became an ordinance and a custom in Israel until this day.
26 Dafidi sì padà sí Siklagi, ó sì rán nínú ìkógun náà si àwọn àgbàgbà Juda, àti sí àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀, ó sì wí pé, “Wò ó, èyí ni ẹ̀bùn fún un yín, láti inú ìkógun àwọn ọ̀tá Olúwa wa.”
And David came to Sekelac, and sent of the spoils to the elders of Juda, and to his friends, saying, Behold [some] of the spoils of the enemies of the Lord;
