< 1 Samuel 26 >

1 Nígbà náà ni àwọn ará Sifi tọ Saulu wá sí Gibeah, wọn wí pé, “Dafidi kò ha fi ara rẹ̀ pamọ́ níbi òkè Hakila, èyí tí ó wà níwájú Jeṣimoni?”
And the Ziphites come out of the dry country to Saul to the hill, saying, Behold, David hides himself with us in the hill Echela, opposite Jessemon.
2 Saulu sì dìde ó sì sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí ijù Sifi ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́ta àṣàyàn ènìyàn ni Israẹli sì pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ láti wá Dafidi ni ijù Sifi.
And Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, and with him [went] three thousand men chosen out of Israel, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.
3 Saulu sì pàgọ́ rẹ̀ ní ibi òkè Hakila tí o wà níwájú Jeṣimoni lójú ọ̀nà, Dafidi sì jókòó ni ibi ijù náà, ó sì rí pé Saulu ń tẹ̀lé òun ni ijù náà.
And Saul encamped in the hill of Echela in front of Jessemon, by the way, and David dwelt in the wilderness: and David saw that Saul came after him into the wilderness.
4 Dafidi sì rán ayọ́lẹ̀wò jáde, ó sì mọ nítòótọ́ pé Saulu ń bọ̀.
And David sent spies, and ascertained that Saul was come prepared out of Keila.
5 Dafidi sì dìde, ó sì wá sí ibi ti Saulu pàgọ́ sí: Dafidi rí ibi tí Saulu gbé dùbúlẹ̀ sí, àti Abneri ọmọ Neri, olórí ogun rẹ̀: Saulu sì dùbúlẹ̀ láàrín àwọn kẹ̀kẹ́, àwọn ènìyàn náà sì pàgọ́ wọn yí i ká.
And David arose secretly, and goes into the place where Saul was sleeping, and there [was] Abenner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul was sleeping in a chariot, and the people had encamped along round about him.
6 Dafidi sì dáhùn, ó sì wí fún Ahimeleki, ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọ Hiti, àti fún Abiṣai ọmọ Seruiah ẹ̀gbọ́n Joabu, pé, “Ta ni yóò ba mi sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sọ́dọ̀ Saulu ni ibùdó?” Abiṣai sì wí pé, “Èmi yóò ba ọ sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ.”
And David answered and spoke to Abimelech the Chettite, and to Abessa the son Saruia the brother of Joab, saying, Who will go in with me to Saul into the camp? And Abessa said, I will go in with thee.
7 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Dafidi àti Abiṣai sì tọ àwọn ènìyàn náà wá lóru: sì wò ó, Saulu dùbúlẹ̀ ó sì ń sùn láàrín kẹ̀kẹ́, a sì fi ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ gúnlẹ̀ ni ibi tìmùtìmù rẹ̀: Abneri àti àwọn ènìyàn náà sì dùbúlẹ̀ yí i ká.
So David and Abessa go in among the people by night: and behold, Saul was fast asleep in the chariot, and his spear was stuck in the ground near his head, and Abenner and his people slept round about him.
8 Abiṣai sì wí fún Dafidi pé, “Ọlọ́run ti fi ọ̀tá rẹ lé ọ lọ́wọ́ lónìí: ǹjẹ́ èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, sá à jẹ́ kí èmi o fi ọ̀kọ̀ gún un mọ́lẹ̀ lẹ́ẹ̀kan, èmi kì yóò gun un lẹ́ẹ̀méjì.”
And Abessa said to David, The Lord has this day shut up thine enemy into thine hands, and now I will smite him to the earth with the spear to the ground once [for all], and I will not smite him again.
9 Dafidi sì wí fún Abiṣai pé, “Má ṣe pa á nítorí pé ta ni lè na ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sí ẹni àmì òróró Olúwa kí ó sì wà láìjẹ̀bi?”
And David said to Abessa, Do not lay him low, for who shall lift up his hand against the anointed of the Lord, and be guiltless?
10 Dafidi sì wí pé, “Bí Olúwa tí ń bẹ Olúwa yóò pa á, tàbí ọjọ́ rẹ̀ yóò sì pé tí yóò kú, tàbí òun ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí ibi ìjà yóò sì ṣègbé níbẹ̀.
And David said, [As] the Lord lives, if the Lord smite him not, or his day come and he die, or he go down to battle and be added [to his fathers, do not so].
11 Olúwa má jẹ́ kí èmi na ọwọ́ mi sí ẹni àmì òróró Olúwa. Ǹjẹ́ èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, mú ọ̀kọ̀ náà tí ń bẹ níbi tìmùtìmù rẹ̀, àti ìgò omi kí a sì máa lọ.”
The Lord forbid it me that I should lift up my hand against the anointed of the Lord: and now take, I pray thee, the spear from his bolster, and the pitcher of water, and let us return home.
12 Dafidi sì mú ọ̀kọ̀ náà àti ìgò omi náà kúrò níbi tìmùtìmù Saulu: wọ́n sì bá tiwọn lọ, kò sì sí ẹnìkan tí ó rí i, tàbí tí ó mọ̀: kò sì sí ẹnìkan tí ó jí; gbogbo wọn sì sùn; nítorí pé oorun èjìká láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa wá ti ṣubú lù wọ́n.
So David took the spear, and the pitcher of water from his bolster, and they went home: and there was no one that saw, and no one that knew, and there was no one that awoke, all being asleep, for a stupor from the Lord had fallen upon them.
13 Dafidi sì rékọjá sí ìhà kejì, ó sì dúró lórí òkè kan tí ó jìnnà réré; àlàfo kan sì wà láàrín méjì wọn.
So David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of a hill afar off, and [there was] a good distance between them.
14 Dafidi sì kọ sí àwọn ènìyàn náà àti sí Abneri ọmọ Neri wí pé, “Ìwọ kò dáhùn, Abneri?” Nígbà náà ni Abneri sì dáhùn wí pé, “Ìwọ ta ni ń pe ọba?”
And David called to the people, and spoke to Abenner, saying, Wilt thou not answer, Abenner? and Abenner answered and said, Who art thou that callest?
15 Dafidi sì wí fún Abneri pé, “Alágbára ọkùnrin kọ́ ni ìwọ bí? Ta ni ó sì dàbí ìwọ ni Israẹli? Ǹjẹ́ èéṣe tí ìwọ kò tọ́jú ọba Olúwa rẹ? Nítorí ẹnìkan nínú àwọn ènìyàn náà ti wọlé wá láti pa ọba olúwa rẹ.
And David said to Abenner, [Art] not thou a man? and who [is] like thee in Israel? Why then dost thou not guard thy lord the king? for one out of the people went in to destroy thy lord the king.
16 Nǹkan tí ìwọ ṣe yìí kò dára. Bí Olúwa ti ń bẹ, o tọ́ kí ẹ̀yin ó kú, nítorí pé ẹ̀yin kò pa olúwa yín mọ́, ẹni àmì òróró Olúwa. Ǹjẹ́ sì wo ibi tí ọ̀kọ̀ ọba gbé wà, àti ìgò omi tí ó ti wà níbi tìmùtìmù rẹ̀.”
And this thing [is] not good which thou hast done. [As] the Lord lives, ye are worthy of death, ye who guard your lord the king, the anointed of the Lord: and now behold, I pray you, the spear of the king, and the cruse of water: where are the articles that should be at his head?
17 Saulu sì mọ ohùn Dafidi, ó sì wí pé, “Ohùn rẹ ni èyí bí Dafidi ọmọ mi?” Dafidi sì wí pé, “Ohùn mi ni, olúwa mi, ọba.”
And Saul recognized the voice of David, and said, [Is] this thy voice, son David? and David said, I [am] thy servant, [my] lord, O king.
18 Òun sì wí pé, “Nítorí kín ni olúwa mi ṣe ń lépa ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀? Kín ni èmi ṣe? Tàbí ìwà búburú wo ni ó wà lọ́wọ́ mi.
And he said, Why does my lord thus pursue after his servant? for in what have I sinned? and what unrighteousness has been found in me?
19 Ǹjẹ́ èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, ọba, olúwa mi, gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ ìránṣẹ́ rẹ. Bí ó bá ṣe Olúwa bá ti rú ọ sókè sí mi, jẹ́ kí òun o gba ẹbọ; ṣùgbọ́n bí o bá sì ṣe pé ọmọ ènìyàn ni, ìfibú ni kí wọn ó jásí níwájú Olúwa; nítorí tí wọn lé mi jáde lónìí kí èmi má ba à ní ìpín nínú ilẹ̀ ìní Olúwa, wí pé, ‘Lọ sin àwọn ọlọ́run mìíràn.’
And now let my lord the king hear the word of his servant. If God stirs thee up against me, let thine offering be acceptable: but if the sons of men, they [are] cursed before the Lord, for they have cast me out this day so that I should not be established in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Go, serve other Gods.
20 Ǹjẹ́ má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹ̀jẹ̀ mi ó sàn sílẹ̀ níwájú Olúwa; nítorí ọba Israẹli jáde láti wá ẹ̀mí mi bi ẹni ń dọdẹ àparò lórí òkè ńlá.”
And now let not my blood fall to the ground before the Lord, for the king of Israel has come forth to seek thy life, as the night hawk pursues [its prey] in the mountains.
21 Saulu sì wí pé, “Èmi ti dẹ́ṣẹ̀: yípadà, Dafidi ọmọ mi: nítorí pé èmi kì yóò wa ibi rẹ mọ́, nítorí tí ẹ̀mí mi sì ti ṣe iyebíye lójú rẹ lónìí: wò ó, èmi ti ń hùwà òmùgọ̀, mo sì ti ṣìnà jọjọ.”
And Saul said, I have sinned: turn, son David, for I will not hurt thee, because my life was precious in thine eyes; and to-day I have been foolish and have erred exceedingly.
22 Dafidi sì dáhùn, ó sì wí pé, “Wò ó, ọ̀kọ̀ ọba! Kí ó sì jẹ́ kí ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọkùnrin rékọjá wá gbà á.
And David answered and said, Behold, the spear of the king: let one of the servants come over and take it.
23 Kí Olúwa o san án fún olúkúlùkù bí òdodo rẹ̀ àti bí òtítọ́ rẹ̀: nítorí pé Olúwa tí fi ọ lé mi lọ́wọ́ lónìí, ṣùgbọ́n èmi kò fẹ́ nawọ́ mi sí ẹni àmì òróró Olúwa.
And the Lord shall recompense each according to his righteousness and his truth, since the Lord delivered thee this day into my hands, and I would not lift my hand against the Lord's anointed.
24 Sì wò ó, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀mí rẹ ti tóbi lónìí lójú mi, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ki ẹ̀mí mi ó tóbi lójú Olúwa, kí ó sì gbà mí lọ́wọ́ ibi gbogbo.”
And, behold, as thy life has been precious this very day in my eyes, so let my life be precious before the Lord, and may he protect me, and deliver me out of all affliction.
25 Saulu sì wí fún Dafidi pé, “Alábùkún fún ni ìwọ, Dafidi ọmọ mi: nítòótọ́ ìwọ yóò sì ṣe nǹkan ńlá, nítòótọ́ ìwọ yóò sì borí.” Dafidi sì bá ọ̀nà rẹ̀ lọ, Saulu sì yípadà sí ibùgbé rẹ̀.
And Saul said to David, Blessed [be] thou, [my] son; and thou shalt surely do valiantly, and surely prevail. And David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.
