< 1 Samuel 25 >

1 Samuẹli sì kú; gbogbo ènìyàn Israẹli sì kó ara wọn jọ, wọ́n sì sọkún rẹ̀ wọ́n sì sin ín nínú ilé rẹ̀ ní Rama. Dafidi sì dìde, ó sì sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí ijù Parani.
And Samuel died; and all Israel were gathered together, and lamented him; and they buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
2 Ọkùnrin kan sì ń bẹ ní Maoni, ẹni tí iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ ń bẹ ní Karmeli; ọkùnrin náà sì ní ọrọ̀ púpọ̀, ó sì ní ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́ta àgùntàn, àti ẹgbẹ̀rún ewúrẹ́: ó sì ń rẹ irun àgùntàn rẹ̀ ní Karmeli.
And there was a man at Maon, whose business was at Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep and a thousand goats; and he was shearing his sheep at Carmel.
3 Orúkọ ọkùnrin náà sì ń jẹ́ Nabali, orúkọ aya rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Abigaili; òun sì jẹ́ olóye obìnrin, àti arẹwà ènìyàn; ṣùgbọ́n òǹrorò àti oníwà búburú ni ọkùnrin; ẹni ìdílé Kalebu ni òun jẹ́.
And the name of the man was Nabal, and the name of his wife Abigail; and the woman was of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance; but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was a Calebite.
4 Dafidi sì gbọ́ ní aginjù pé Nabali ń rẹ́ irun àgùntàn rẹ̀.
And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal was shearing his sheep.
5 Dafidi sì rán ọmọkùnrin mẹ́wàá, Dafidi sì sọ fún àwọn ọ̀dọ́kùnrin náà pé, “Ẹ gòkè lọ sí Karmeli, kí ẹ sì tọ Nabali lọ, kí ẹ sì kí i ni orúkọ mi.
Then David sent out ten young men; and David said to the young men, Go up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name.
6 Báyìí ni ẹ ó sì wí fún ẹni tí ó wà ni ìrora pé, ‘Àlàáfíà fún ọ! Àlàáfíà fún ohun gbogbo tí ìwọ ní!
And thus shall ye say: Long life [to thee]! and peace be to thee, and peace be to thy house, and peace be to all that thou hast!
7 “‘Ǹjẹ́ mo gbọ́ pé, àwọn olùrẹ́run ń bẹ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ. Wò ó, àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn rẹ ti wà lọ́dọ̀ wa àwa kò sì pa wọ́n lára, wọn kò sì sọ ohunkóhun nù ní gbogbo ọjọ́ tí wọ́n wà ní Karmeli.
And now I have heard that thou hast shearers; now thy shepherds who were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there aught missed by them, all the while they were in Carmel.
8 Bi àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ léèrè, wọn ó sì sọ fún ọ. Nítorí náà, jẹ́ kí àwọn ọmọkùnrin wọ̀nyí rí ojúrere lọ́dọ̀ rẹ; nítorí pé àwa sá wá ní ọjọ́ àsè: èmi bẹ̀ ọ́ ohunkóhun tí ọwọ́ rẹ bá bà, fi fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ, àti fún Dafidi ọmọ rẹ.’”
Ask thy young men, and they will tell thee. Therefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes; for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, what thy hand may find to thy servants, and to thy son David.
9 Àwọn ọmọkùnrin Dafidi sì lọ, wọ́n sì sọ fún Nabali gẹ́gẹ́ bí gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí ní orúkọ Dafidi, wọ́n sì sinmi.
And David's young men came, and spoke to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased.
10 Nabali sì dá àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Dafidi lóhùn pé, “Ta ni ń jẹ́ Dafidi? Tàbí ta ni sì ń jẹ́ ọmọ Jese? Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìránṣẹ́ ni ń bẹ ni ìsinsin yìí tí wọn sá olúkúlùkù kúrò lọ́dọ̀ olúwa rẹ̀.
And Nabal answered David's servants and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there are many servants now-a-days that break away every man from his master.
11 Ǹjẹ́ ki èmi o mú oúnjẹ mi, àti omi mi, àti ẹran mi ti mo pa fún àwọn olùrẹ́run mi, ki èmi sì fi fún àwọn ọkùnrin ti èmi kò mọ̀ ibi wọ́n ti wá?”
And shall I take my bread, and my water, and my flesh which I have killed for my shearers, and give [it] to men whom I know not whence they are?
12 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn ọmọkùnrin Dafidi sì mú ọ̀nà wọn pọ̀n, wọ́n sì padà, wọ́n sì wá, wọn si rò fún un gẹ́gẹ́ bi gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí.
And David's young men turned their way, and went back, and came and reported to him according to all those words.
13 Dafidi sí wí fún àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ pé, “Kí olúkúlùkù yín ó di idà rẹ́ mọ́ ìdí,” olúkúlùkù ọkùnrin sì di idà tirẹ̀ mọ́ ìdí; àti Dafidi pẹ̀lú sì di idà tirẹ̀; ìwọ̀n irinwó ọmọkùnrin si gòkè tọ Dafidi lẹ́yìn; igba si jókòó níbi ẹrù.
And David said to his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword; and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the baggage.
14 Ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọkùnrin Nabali si wí fún Abigaili aya rẹ̀ pé, “Wo o, Dafidi rán oníṣẹ́ láti aginjù wá láti kí olúwa wa; ó sì kanra mọ́ wọn.
And one of [Nabal's] young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to bless our master; and he has insulted them.
15 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọkùnrin náà ṣe oore fún wa gidigidi, wọn kò ṣe wá ní ibi kan, ohunkóhun kò nù ni ọwọ́ wa ni gbogbo ọjọ́ ti àwa bá wọn rìn nígbà ti àwa ń bẹ lóko.
And the men were very good to us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we anything, as long as we companied with them, when we were in the fields.
16 Odi ni wọ́n sá à jásí fún wa lọ́sàn án, àti lóru, ni gbogbo ọjọ́ ti a fi bá wọn gbé, tí a n bojútó àwọn àgùntàn.
They were a wall to us both by night and day, all the while we were with them feeding the sheep.
17 Ǹjẹ́, rò ó wò, kí ìwọ sì mọ èyí ti ìwọ yóò ṣe; nítorí pé a ti gbèrò ibi sí olúwa wa, àti sí gbogbo ilé rẹ̀; òun sì jásí ọmọ Beliali tí a kò le sọ̀rọ̀ fún.”
And now know and consider what thou wilt do, for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household; and he is such a son of Belial, that one cannot speak to him.
18 Abigaili sì yára, ó sì mú igbá ìṣù àkàrà àti ìgò ọtí wáìnì méjì, àti àgùntàn márùn-ún, tí a ti ṣè, àti òsùwọ̀n àgbàdo yíyan márùn-ún, àti ọgọ́rùn-ún ìdì àjàrà, àti igba àkàrà èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́, ó sì dìwọ́n ru kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́.
And Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two skin-bottles of wine, and five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of parched [corn], and a hundred raisin-cakes, and two hundred fig-cakes, and laid them on asses.
19 Òun sì wí fún àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ pé, “Máa lọ níwájú mi; wò ó, èmi ń bọ̀ lẹ́yìn yín,” ṣùgbọ́n òun kò wí fún Nabali baálé rẹ̀.
And she said to her young men, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she did not tell her husband Nabal.
20 Bí o ti gun orí kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ tí ó sì ń sọ̀kalẹ̀ sí ibi ìkọ̀kọ̀ òkè náà, wò ó, Dafidi àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ sì sọ̀kalẹ̀ níwájú rẹ̀; òun sì wá pàdé wọn.
And as she was riding on the ass, and coming down by the covert of the hill, behold, David and his men came down opposite to her; and she met them.
21 Dafidi sì ti wí pé, “Ǹjẹ́ lásán ni èmi ti pa gbogbo èyí tí i ṣe ti eléyìí ní aginjù, ti ohunkóhun kò sì nù nínú gbogbo èyí ti í ṣe tirẹ̀: òun ni ó sì fi ibi san ìre fún mi yìí.
Now David had said, Surely, in vain have I kept all that this [man] had in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that was his; and he has requited me evil for good.
22 Bẹ́ẹ̀ àti jù bẹ́ẹ̀ lọ, ni ki Ọlọ́run ó ṣe sí àwọn ọ̀tá Dafidi, bi èmi bá fi ọkùnrin kan sílẹ̀ nínú gbogbo èyí tí i ṣe tirẹ̀ títí di ìmọ́lẹ̀ òwúrọ̀.”
So and more also do God to the enemies of David, if I leave of all that is his by the morning light any male.
23 Abigaili sì rí Dafidi, ó sì yára, ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lórí kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́, ó sì dojúbolẹ̀ níwájú Dafidi, ó sì rẹ ara rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.
And when Abigail saw David, she hasted and lighted off the ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground,
24 Ó sì wólẹ̀ lẹ́bàá ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀, ó wí pé, “Olúwa mi, fi ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yìí yá mi: kí ó sì jẹ́ kí ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ, èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, sọ̀rọ̀ létí rẹ, kí ó sì gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ.
and fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, [upon] me let the iniquity be; but let thy handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thine ears, and hear the words of thy handmaid.
25 Olúwa mi, èmi bẹ̀ ọ́ má ka ọkùnrin Beliali yìí sí, àní Nabali. Nítorí pé bí orúkọ rẹ̀ ti jẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni òun náà rí. Nabali ni orúkọ rẹ̀, àìmoye si wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀; ṣùgbọ́n èmi ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ kò ri àwọn ọmọkùnrin olúwa mi, ti ìwọ rán.
Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, Nabal; for as his name is, so is he: Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; and I thy handmaid did not see the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.
26 Ǹjẹ́ olúwa mi, bi Olúwa ti wà láààyè, àti bí ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ si ti wà láààyè, bi Olúwa sì ti dá ọ dúró láti wá ta ẹ̀jẹ̀ sílẹ̀, àti láti fi ọwọ́ ara rẹ gba ẹ̀san; ǹjẹ́, kí àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ, àti àwọn ẹni tí ń gbèrò ibi sí olúwa mi rí bi i Nabali.
And now, my lord, [as] Jehovah liveth, and [as] thy soul liveth, seeing Jehovah has restrained thee from coming with bloodshed, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.
27 Ǹjẹ́ èyí ni ẹ̀bùn tí ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ mú wá fún olúwa mi, jẹ́ kí a sì fi fún àwọn ọmọkùnrin ti ń tọ olúwa mi lẹ́yìn.
And now this blessing which thy bondmaid has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men that follow my lord.
28 “Èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, fi ìrékọjá arábìnrin rẹ jìn ín, nítorí Olúwa yóò sá ṣe ilé òdodo fún olúwa mi, nítorí pé ó ja ogun Olúwa. Nítorí náà kí a má ri ibi kan ni ọwọ́ rẹ níwọ̀n ìgbà tí ó wà láààyè.
I pray thee, forgive the transgression of thy handmaid: for Jehovah will certainly make my lord a lasting house; because my lord fights the battles of Jehovah, and evil has not been found in thee all thy days.
29 Bí ọkùnrin kan bá sì dìde láti máa lépa rẹ, àti máa wá ẹ̀mí rẹ, a ó sì di ẹ̀mí olúwa mi nínú ìdì ìyè lọ́dọ̀ Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ; àti ẹ̀mí àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ni a ó sì gbọ̀n sọnù gẹ́gẹ́ bí kànnàkànnà jáde.
And if a man is risen up to pursue thee and to seek thy life, the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of the living with Jehovah thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out from the hollow of the sling.
30 Yóò sì ṣe, Olúwa yóò ṣe sí olúwa mi gẹ́gẹ́ bí gbogbo ìre tí ó ti wí nípa tirẹ̀, yóò sì yàn ọ́ ni aláṣẹ lórí Israẹli.
And it shall come to pass, when Jehovah shall do to my lord according to all the good that he has spoken concerning thee, and shall appoint thee ruler over Israel,
31 Èyí kì yóò sì jásí ìbànújẹ́ fún ọ, tàbí ìbànújẹ́ ọkàn fún olúwa mi, nítorí pé ìwọ ta ẹ̀jẹ̀ aláìṣẹ̀ sílẹ̀, tàbí pé olúwa mi gba ẹ̀san fún ara rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí Olúwa ba ṣe oore fún olúwa mi, ǹjẹ́ rántí ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ!”
that this shall be no stumbling-block to thee, nor offence of heart for my lord, either that thou hast shed blood without cause, or that my lord has avenged himself. And when Jehovah shall deal well with my lord, then remember thy handmaid.
32 Dafidi sì wí fún Abigaili pé, “Alábùkún fún ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli, tí ó rán ọ lónìí yìí láti pàdé mi.
And David said to Abigail, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who sent thee this day to meet me.
33 Ìbùkún ni fún ọgbọ́n rẹ, alábùkún sì ni ìwọ, tí ó da mi dúró lónìí yìí láti wá ta ẹ̀jẹ̀ sílẹ̀, àti láti fi ọwọ́ mi gba ẹ̀san fún ara mi.
And blessed be thy discernment, and blessed be thou, who hast kept me this day from coming with bloodshed, and from avenging myself with mine own hand.
34 Nítòótọ́, bí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli tí ń bẹ, tí ó da mi dúró láti pa ọ́ lára bí kò ṣe pé bí ìwọ ti yára tí ó sì wá pàdé mi, nítòótọ́ kì bá tí kù fún Nabali di ìmọ́lẹ̀ òwúrọ̀ nínú àwọn ọkùnrin rẹ̀.”
But indeed, as Jehovah the God of Israel liveth, who has restrained me from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, there had not been left to Nabal by the morning light any male.
35 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Dafidi sì gba nǹkan tí ó mú wá fún un lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Gòkè lọ ni àlàáfíà sí ilé rẹ, wò ó, èmi ti gbọ́ ohùn rẹ, inú mi sì dùn sí ọ.”
So David received of her hand what she had brought him, and said to her, Go up in peace to thy house; see, I have hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy person.
36 Abigaili sì tọ Nabali wá, sì wò ó, òun sì ṣe àsè ni ilé rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àsè ọba: inú Nabali sì dùn nítorí pé, ó ti mú ọtí ni àmupara; òun kò si sọ nǹkan fún un, díẹ̀ tàbí púpọ̀: títí di ìmọ́lẹ̀ òwúrọ̀
And Abigail came to Nabal; and behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was drunken to excess; so she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.
37 Ó sì ṣe; ni òwúrọ̀, nígbà ti ọtí náà si dá tán lójú Nabali, obìnrin rẹ̀ sì ro nǹkan wọ̀nyí fún un, ọkàn rẹ sì kú nínú rẹ̀, òun sì dàbí òkúta.
And it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, that his wife told him these things; and his heart died within him, and he became [as] a stone.
38 Ó sì ṣe lẹ́yìn ìwọ̀n ọjọ́ mẹ́wàá, Olúwa lu Nabali, ó sì kú.
And it came to pass in about ten days that Jehovah smote Nabal, and he died.
39 Dafidi sì gbọ́ pé Nabali kú, ó sì wí pé, “Ìyìn ni fún Olúwa tí o gbèjà gígàn mi láti ọwọ́ Nabali wá, tí ó sì dá ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ dúró láti ṣe ibi: Olúwa sì yí ìkà Nabali sí orí òun tìkára rẹ̀.” Dafidi sì ránṣẹ́, ó sì ba Abigaili sọ̀rọ̀ láti mú un fi ṣe aya fún ara rẹ̀.
And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be Jehovah, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept back his servant from evil; but Jehovah has returned Nabal's evil upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her as his wife.
40 Àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Dafidi sì lọ sọ́dọ̀ Abigaili ni Karmeli, wọn sì sọ fún un pé, “Dafidi rán wá si ọ láti mu ọ ṣe aya rẹ̀.”
And the servants of David came to Abigail to Carmel, and spoke to her, saying, David has sent us to thee, to take thee as his wife.
41 Ó sì dìde, ó sì dojúbolẹ̀, ó sì wí pé, “Wò ó, jẹ́ kí ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ ó jẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ kan láti máa wẹ ẹsẹ̀ àwọn ìránṣẹ́ olúwa mi.”
And she arose and bowed herself on her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let thy handmaid be a bondwoman to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.
42 Abigaili sì yára, ó sì dìde, ó sì gun kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́, àwọn ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ̀ márùn-ún sì tẹ̀lé e lẹ́yìn; òun sì tẹ̀lé àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Dafidi, o sì wá di aya rẹ̀.
And Abigail hasted, and arose, and rode upon an ass, with five damsels of hers that followed her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife.
43 Dafidi sì mú Ahinoamu ará Jesreeli; àwọn méjèèjì sì jẹ́ aya rẹ̀.
David had also taken Ahinoam of Jizreel; and they became, even both of them, his wives.
44 Ṣùgbọ́n Saulu ti fi Mikali ọmọ rẹ̀ obìnrin aya Dafidi, fún Palti ọmọ Laiṣi tí i ṣe ara Galimu.
But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, who was of Gallim.
