< 1 Samuel 24 >
1 Nígbà tí Saulu padà kúrò lẹ́yìn àwọn Filistini a sì sọ fún un pé, “Wò ó, Dafidi ń bẹ́ ni aginjù En-Gedi.”
When Saul was turned from ye Philistims, they told him, saying, Behold, Dauid is in the wildernes of En-gedi.
2 Saulu sì mú ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́ta akọni ọkùnrin tí a yàn nínú gbogbo Israẹli ó sì lọ láti wá Dafidi àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ lórí òkúta àwọn ewúrẹ́ igbó.
Then Saul tooke three thousande chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seeke Dauid and his men vpon the rocks among the wilde goates.
3 Ó sì dé ibi àwọn agbo àgùntàn tí ó wà ní ọ̀nà, ihò kan sì wà níbẹ̀, Saulu sì wọ inú rẹ̀ lọ láti bo ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀, Dafidi àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ sì ń bẹ lẹ́bàá ihò náà.
And hee came to the sheepecoates by the way where there was a caue, and Saul went in to do his easement: and Dauid and his men sate in the inward parts of the caue.
4 Àwọn ọmọkùnrin Dafidi sì wí fún un pé, “Wò ó, èyí ni ọjọ́ náà tí Olúwa wí fún ọ pé, ‘Wò ó, èmi fi ọ̀tá rẹ lé ọ lọ́wọ́, ìwọ ó sì ṣe sí i gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti tọ́ lójú rẹ.’” Dafidi sì dìde, ó sì yọ́ lọ gé etí aṣọ Saulu.
And the men of Dauid said vnto him, See, the day is come, whereof the Lord sayde vnto thee, Beholde, I will deliuer thine enemie into thine hande, and thou shalt doe to him as it shall seeme good to thee. Then Dauid arose and cut off the lap of Sauls garment priuily.
5 Ó sì ṣe lẹ́yìn èyí, àyà já Dafidi nítorí tí ó gé etí aṣọ Saulu.
And afterward Dauid was touched in his heart, because he had cut off the lappe which was on Sauls garment.
6 Òun sì wí fún àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ pé, “Èèwọ̀ ni fún mi láti ọ̀dọ́ Olúwa wá bí èmi bá ṣe nǹkan yìí sí ẹni tí a ti fi àmì òróró Olúwa yàn, láti nawọ́ mi sí i, nítorí pé ẹni àmì òróró Olúwa ni.”
And he said vnto his men, The Lord keepe mee from doing that thing vnto my master the Lords Anoynted, to lay mine hand vpon him: for he is the Anoynted of the Lord.
7 Dafidi sì fi ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí dá àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ dúró, kò sì jẹ́ kí wọn dìde sí Saulu, Saulu sì dìde kúrò ní ihò náà, ó sì bá ọ̀nà rẹ̀ lọ.
So Dauid ouercame his seruants with these words, and suffered them not to arise against Saul: so Saul rose vp out of the caue and went away.
8 Dafidi sì dìde lẹ́yìn náà, ó sì jáde kúrò nínú ihò náà ó sì kọ sí Saulu pé, “Olúwa mi, ọba!” Saulu sì wo ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀. Dafidi sì dojú rẹ́ bo ilẹ̀ ó sì tẹríba fún un.
Dauid also arose afterward, and went out of the caue, and cryed after Saul, saying, O my lorde the King. And when Saul looked behinde him, Dauid inclined his face to the earth, and bowed himselfe.
9 Dafidi sì wí fún Saulu pé, “Èéha ti ṣe tí ìwọ fi ń gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn pé, ‘Wò ó, Dafidi ń wa ẹ̀mí rẹ́’?
And Dauid saide to Saul, Wherefore giuest thou an eare to mens words, that say, Behold, Dauid seeketh euill against thee?
10 Wò ó, ojú rẹ́ rí i lónìí, bí Olúwa ti fi ìwọ lé mi lọ́wọ́ lónìí nínú ihò, àwọn kan ní kí èmi ó pa ọ, ṣùgbọ́n èmi dá ọ sí, ‘Èmi sì wí pé, èmi kì yóò nawọ́ mi sí olúwa mi, nítorí pé ẹni àmì òróró Olúwa ni òun jẹ́.’
Behold, this day thine eyes haue seene, that the Lord had deliuered thee this day into mine hand in the caue, and some bade me kill thee, but I had compassion on thee, and said, I will not lay mine hande on my master: for he is the Lordes Anoynted.
11 Pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú, baba mi, wò ó, àní wo etí aṣọ rẹ lọ́wọ́ mi; nítorí èmi gé etí aṣọ rẹ, èmi kò sì pa ọ́, sì wò ó, kí o sì mọ̀ pé kò sí ibi tàbí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ lọ́wọ́ mi, èmi kò sì ṣẹ̀ ọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ ń dọdẹ ẹ̀mí mi láti gbà á.
Moreouer my father, behold: behold, I say, the lappe of thy garment in mine hand: for when I cut off the lappe of thy garment, I killed thee not. Vnderstad and see, that there is neither euil nor wickednesse in mee, neither haue I sinned against thee, yet thou huntest after my soule to take it.
12 Kí Olúwa ṣe ìdájọ́ láàrín èmi àti ìwọ, àti kí Olúwa ó gbẹ̀san mi lára rẹ; ṣùgbọ́n, ọwọ́ mi kì yóò sí lára rẹ.
The Lord be iudge betweene thee and me, and the Lord auenge me of thee, and let not mine hand be vpon thee.
13 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí òwe ìgbà àtijọ́ ti wí, ìwà búburú a máa ti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn búburú jáde wá; ṣùgbọ́n ọwọ́ mi kì yóò sí lára rẹ.
According as the olde prouerbe sayeth, Wickednesse proceedeth from the wicked, but mine hand be not vpon thee.
14 “Nítorí ta ni ọba Israẹli fi jáde? Ta ni ìwọ ń lépa? Òkú ajá, tàbí eṣinṣin?
After whom is the King of Israel come out? after whome doest thou pursue? after a dead dog, and after a flea?
15 Kí Olúwa ó ṣe onídàájọ́, kí ó sì dájọ́ láàrín èmi àti ìwọ, kí ó sì gbèjà mi, kí ó sì gbà mí kúrò lọ́wọ́ rẹ.”
The Lord therfore be iudge, and iudge betweene thee and me, and see, and pleade my cause, and deliuer me out of thine hand.
16 Ó sì ṣe, nígbà tí Dafidi sì dákẹ́ ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí fún Saulu, Saulu sì wí pé, “Ohùn rẹ ni èyí bí, Dafidi ọmọ mi?” Saulu sì gbé ohùn rẹ̀ sókè, ó sọkún.
Whe Dauid had made an end of speaking these words to Saul, Saul sayd, Is this thy voyce, my sonne Dauid? and Saul lift vp his voice, and wept,
17 Ó sì wí fún Dafidi pé, “Ìwọ ṣe olódodo jù mí lọ; nítorí pé ìwọ ti fi ìre san án fún mi, èmi fi ibi san án fún ọ.
And sayd to Dauid, Thou art more righteous then I: for thou hast rendred me good, and I haue rendred thee euill.
18 Ìwọ sì fi oore tí ìwọ ti ṣe fún mi hàn lónìí: nígbà tí ó jẹ́ pé, Olúwa ti fi ẹ̀mí mi lé ọ lọ́wọ́, ìwọ kò sì pa mí.
And thou hast shewed this day, that thou hast dealt well with me: forasmuch as when the Lord had closed me in thine hands, thou killedst me not.
19 Nítorí pé bí ènìyàn bá rí ọ̀tá rẹ̀, ó lè jẹ́ kí ó lọ ní àlàáfíà bí? Olúwa yóò sì fi ìre san èyí ti ìwọ ṣe fún mi lónìí.
For who shall finde his enemie, and let him depart free? wherefore the Lord render thee good for that thou hast done vnto me this day.
20 Wò ó, èmi mọ̀ nísinsin yìí pé, nítòótọ́ ìwọ ó jẹ ọba, àti pé ìjọba Israẹli yóò sì fi ìdí múlẹ̀ ní ọwọ́ rẹ.
For now behold, I know that thou shalt be King, and that the kingdome of Israel shall be stablished in thine hand.
21 Sì búra fún mi nísinsin yìí ní orúkọ Olúwa, pé, ìwọ kì yóò gé irú-ọmọ mi kúrò lẹ́yìn mi, àti pé, ìwọ kì yóò pa orúkọ mi run kúrò ní ìdílé baba mi.”
Sweare now therfore vnto me by the Lord, that thou wilt not destroy my seede after me, and that thou wilt not abolish my name out of my fathers house.
22 Dafidi sì búra fún Saulu. Saulu sì lọ sí ilé rẹ̀; ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ sì gòkè lọ sí ihò náà.
So Dauid sware vnto Saul, and Saul went home: but Dauid and his men went vp vnto ye hold.
