< 1 Samuel 21 >

1 Dafidi sì wá sí Nobu sọ́dọ̀ Ahimeleki àlùfáà, Ahimeleki sì bẹ̀rù láti pàdé Dafidi, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Èéha ti rí tí o fi ṣe ìwọ nìkan, àti tí kò sì sí ọkùnrin kan tí ó pẹ̀lú rẹ?”
And David comes to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest, and Ahimelech trembles at meeting David and says to him, “Why [are] you alone, and no man [is] with you?”
2 Dafidi sì wí fún Ahimeleki àlùfáà pé, “Ọba pàṣẹ iṣẹ́ kan fún mi, ó sì wí fún mi pé, ‘Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹnìkan mọ ìdí iṣẹ́ náà ti mo rán ọ, àti èyí tí èmi ti pàṣẹ fún ọ.’ Èmi sì yan àwọn ìránṣẹ́ mi sí ibí báyìí.
And David says to Ahimelech the priest, “The king has commanded me [on] a matter, and he says to me, Let no man know anything of the matter about which I send you, and which I have commanded you; and [my] young men know [to go] to such and such a place.
3 Ǹjẹ́ kín ni ó wà ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀? Fún mi ni ìṣù àkàrà márùn-ún tàbí ohunkóhun tí o bá rí.”
And now, what is there under your hand? Give five loaves into my hand, or that which is found.”
4 Àlùfáà náà sí dá Dafidi lóhùn ó sì wí pé, “Kò sí àkàrà mìíràn lọ́wọ́ mi bí kò ṣe àkàrà mímọ́. Kìkì pé bi àwọn ọmọkùnrin bá ti pa ara wọn mọ́ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ obìnrin!”
And the priest answers David and says, “There is no common bread under my hand, but there is holy bread; if only the youths have been kept from women.”
5 Dafidi sì dá àlùfáà náà lóhùn, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Nítòótọ́ ni a tí ń pa ara wá mọ́ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ obìnrin láti ìwọ̀n ọjọ́ mẹ́ta wá, tí èmí ti jáde. Gbogbo nǹkan àwọn ọmọkùnrin náà ni ó mọ́, àti àkàrà náà sì wá dàbí àkàrà mìíràn, pàápàá nígbà tí ó jẹ́ pé òmíràn wà tí a yà sí mímọ́ lónìí nínú ohun èlò náà!”
And David answers the priest and says to him, “Surely, if women have been restrained from us as before in my going out, then the vessels of the young men are holy, and it [is] a common way; and also, surely it is sanctified today in the vessel.”
6 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àlùfáà náà sì fi àkàrà mímọ́ fún un; nítorí tí kò sí àkàrà mìíràn níbẹ̀ bí kò ṣe àkàrà ìfihàn tí a ti kó kúrò níwájú Olúwa, láti fi àkàrà gbígbóná síbẹ̀ ní ọjọ́ tí a kó o kúrò.
And the priest gives the holy thing to him, for there was no bread there except the Bread of the Presentation, which is turned aside from the presence of YHWH to put hot bread [there] in the day of its being taken away.
7 Ọkùnrin kan nínú àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Saulu sì ń bẹ níbẹ̀ lọ́jọ́ náà, tí a tí dádúró síwájú Olúwa; orúkọ rẹ̀ sì ń jẹ́ Doegi, ará Edomu olórí nínú àwọn darandaran Saulu.
And there [is] a man of the servants of Saul detained before YHWH on that day, and his name [is] Doeg the Edomite, chief of the shepherds whom Saul has.
8 Dafidi sì tún wí fún Ahimeleki pé, “Kò sí ọ̀kọ̀ tàbí idà lọ́wọ́ rẹ níhìn-ín? Nítorí tí èmi kò mú idà mi, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kò mú nǹkan ìjà mi lọ́wọ́, nítorí pé iṣẹ́ ọba náà jẹ́ iṣẹ́ ìkánjú.”
And David says to Ahimelech, “And is there not spear or sword here under your hand? For I have taken neither my sword nor my vessels in my hand, for the matter of the king was urgent.”
9 Àlùfáà náà sì wí pé, “Idà Goliati ará Filistini tí ó pa ní àfonífojì Ela ní ń bẹ, wò ó, a fi aṣọ kan wé e lẹ́yìn efodu; bí ìwọ yóò bá mú èyí, mú un; kò sì sí òmíràn níhìn-ín mọ́ bí kò ṣe ọ̀kan náà.” Dafidi sì wí pé, “Kò sí èyí tí ó dàbí rẹ̀ fún mi.”
And the priest says, “The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you struck in the Valley of Elah, behold, it is wrapped in a garment behind the ephod, if you take it to yourself, take; for there is none other except it in this [place].” And David says, “There is none like it—give it to me.”
10 Dafidi sì dìde, o sì sá ni ọjọ́ náà níwájú Saulu, ó sì lọ sọ́dọ̀ Akiṣi, ọba Gati.
And David rises and flees on that day from the face of Saul, and comes to Achish king of Gath;
11 Àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Akiṣi sì wí fún un pé, “Èyí ha kọ́ ní Dafidi ọba ilẹ̀ náà? Ǹjẹ́ wọn kò ha ti dárin ti wọ́n sì gbe orin nítorí rẹ̀, tí wọ́n sì jó pé, “‘Saulu pa ẹgbẹ̀rún tirẹ̀. Dafidi sì pa ẹgbàárùn-ún tirẹ̀’?”
and the servants of Achish say to him, “Is this not David, the king of the land? Is it not of this one [that] they sing in dances, saying, Saul struck among his thousands, and David among his myriads?”
12 Dafidi sì pa ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí í mọ́ ni ọkàn rẹ̀, ó sì bẹ̀rù Akiṣi ọba Gati gidigidi.
And David lays these words in his heart, and is exceedingly afraid of the face of Achish king of Gath,
13 Òun sì pa ìṣe rẹ̀ dà níwájú wọn, ó sì sọ ara rẹ̀ di aṣiwèrè ní ọwọ́ wọn, ó sì ń fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ ha ìlẹ̀kùn ojú ọ̀nà, ó sì ń wá itọ́ sí irùngbọ̀n rẹ̀.
and changes his behavior before their eyes, and feigns himself mad in their hand, and scribbles on the doors of the gate, and lets down his spittle to his beard.
14 Nígbà náà ni Akiṣi wí fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Wó o, nítorí kín ni ẹ̀yin ṣe mú un tọ̀ mí wá.
And Achish says to his servants, “Behold, you see a man acting as a madman; why do you bring him to me?
15 Mo ha ni un fi aṣiwèrè ṣe? Tí ẹ̀yin fi mú èyí tọ̀ mí wá láti hu ìwà aṣiwèrè níwájú mi? Eléyìí yóò ha wọ inú ilé mi?”
Am I lacking madmen, that you have brought in this one to act as a madman before me? Does this one come into my house?”
