< 1 Samuel 19 >

1 Saulu sọ fún Jonatani ọmọ rẹ̀ àti gbogbo àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pé kí wọ́n pa Dafidi. Ṣùgbọ́n Jonatani fẹ́ràn Dafidi púpọ̀
Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Saul's son Jonathan liked David very much.
2 Jonatani sì kìlọ̀ fún Dafidi pé, “Baba mi Saulu wá ọ̀nà láti pa ọ́, kíyèsi ara rẹ di òwúrọ̀ ọ̀la; lọ sí ibi ìkọ̀kọ̀, kí o sì sá pamọ́ sí ibẹ̀.
So Jonathan told David, saying, "Saul seeks to kill you. Please take care of yourself in the morning, and keep hidden in a secret place.
3 Èmi yóò jáde lọ láti dúró ní ọ̀dọ̀ baba mi ní orí pápá níbi tí ó wà. Èmi yóò sọ̀rọ̀ fún un nípa à rẹ, èmi yóò sì sọ ohun tí òun bá wí fún ọ.”
I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will talk with my father about you; and if I see anything, I will tell you."
4 Jonatani sọ̀rọ̀ rere nípa Dafidi fún Saulu baba rẹ̀, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọba kí ó ṣe ohun tí kò dára fún Dafidi ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀; nítorí tí kò ṣẹ̀ ọ́, ohun tí ó sì ṣe pé ọ púpọ̀.
Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him, "Do not let the king sin against his servant, against David; because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you;
5 Ó fi ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ wéwu nígbà tí ó pa Filistini. Olúwa ṣẹ́ ogun ńlá fún gbogbo Israẹli, ìwọ rí i inú rẹ dùn. Ǹjẹ́ nítorí kí ni ìwọ yóò ṣe dẹ́ṣẹ̀ sí Dafidi aláìṣẹ̀, tí ìwọ yóò fi pa á láìnídìí?”
for he put his life in his hand, and struck the Philistine, and Jehovah worked a great victory for all Israel. You saw it, and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?"
6 Saulu fetísí Jonatani, ó sì búra báyìí, “Níwọ́n ìgbà tí Olúwa bá ti ń bẹ láààyè, a kì yóò pa Dafidi.”
Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swore, "As Jehovah lives, he shall not be put to death."
7 Nítorí náà Jonatani pe Dafidi, ó sì sọ gbogbo àjọsọ wọn fún un. Ó sì mú un wá fún Saulu, Dafidi sì wà lọ́dọ̀ Saulu gẹ́gẹ́ bí i ti tẹ́lẹ̀.
Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as before.
8 Lẹ́ẹ̀kan an sí i ogun tún wá, Dafidi sì jáde lọ, ó sì bá àwọn ara Filistini jà. Ó sì pa wọn pẹ̀lú agbára, wọ́n sì sálọ níwájú u rẹ̀.
There was war again. David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and killed them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.
9 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀mí búburú láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa wá sí orí Saulu bí ó ti jókòó ní ilé e rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀. Bí Dafidi sì ti fọn ohun èlò orin olókùn,
A harmful spirit from Jehovah was on Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing with his hand.
10 Saulu sì wá ọ̀nà láti gún un mọ́ ògiri pẹ̀lú ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi yẹ̀ ẹ́ sílẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí Saulu ti ju ọ̀kọ̀ náà mọ́ ara ògiri. Ní alẹ́ ọjọ́ náà Dafidi sì fi ara pamọ́ dáradára.
Saul sought to pin David even to the wall with the spear; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he stuck the spear into the wall. David fled, and escaped that night.
11 Saulu rán ènìyàn sí ilé Dafidi láti ṣọ́ ọ kí wọ́n sì pa á ní òwúrọ̀. Ṣùgbọ́n Mikali, ìyàwó Dafidi kìlọ̀ fún un pé, “Tí o kò bá sá fún ẹ̀mí rẹ ní alẹ́ yìí, ní ọ̀la ni a yóò pa ọ́.”
Saul sent messengers to David's house, to watch him, and to kill him in the morning. Mikal, David's wife, told him, saying, "If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed."
12 Nígbà náà Mikali sì gbé Dafidi sọ̀kalẹ̀ ó sì fi aṣọ bò ó.
So Mikal let David down through the window. He went, fled, and escaped.
13 Mikali gbé ère ó sì tẹ́ e lórí ibùsùn, ó sì fi irun ewúrẹ́ sí ibi orí rẹ̀.
Mikal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats' hair at its head, and covered it with the clothes.
14 Nígbà ti Saulu rán ènìyàn láti lọ fi agbára mú Dafidi, Mikali wí pé, “Ó rẹ̀ ẹ́.”
When Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, "He is sick."
15 Nígbà náà ni Saulu rán ọkùnrin náà padà láti lọ wo Dafidi ó sì sọ fún wọn pé, “Mú wa fún mi láti orí ibùsùn rẹ̀ kí èmi kí ó le pa á.”
Then he sent the messengers to see David, saying, "Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him."
16 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ọkùnrin náà wọlé, ère ni ó bá lórí ibùsùn àti irun ewúrẹ́ ní orí ère náà.
When the messengers came in, look, the teraphim was in the bed, with the pillow of goats' hair at its head.
17 Saulu wí fún Mikali pé, “Èéṣe tí ìwọ fi tàn mí báyìí tí o sì jẹ́ kí ọ̀tá mi sálọ tí ó sì bọ́?” Mikali sọ fún un pé, “Ó wí fún mi, ‘Jẹ́ kí èmi ó lọ. Èéṣe tí èmi yóò fi pa ọ́?’”
Saul said to Mikal, "Why have you deceived me thus, and let my enemy go, so that he is escaped?" Mikal answered Saul, "He said, 'Let me go. Why should I kill you?'"
18 Nígbà tí Dafidi ti sálọ tí ó sì ti bọ́, ó sì lọ sọ́dọ̀ Samuẹli ní Rama ó sì sọ gbogbo ohun tí Saulu ti ṣe fún un. Òun àti Samuẹli lọ sí Naioti láti dúró níbẹ̀.
Now David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and lived in the dwellings.
19 Ọ̀rọ̀ sì tọ Saulu wá pé, “Dafidi wà ní Naioti ní Rama,”
And it was told to Saul, saying, "Look, David is in the dwellings at Ramah."
20 Saulu sì rán àwọn ènìyàn láti fi agbára mú Dafidi wá ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n rí ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn wòlíì tí ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀, pẹ̀lú Samuẹli dúró níbẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí olórí, Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run sì wá sórí àwọn arákùnrin Saulu àwọn náà sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀.
And Saul sent messengers to capture David. But when they saw a company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they prophesied.
21 Wọ́n sì sọ fún Saulu nípa rẹ̀, ó sì rán ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn mìíràn lọ àwọn náà sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀. Saulu tún rán oníṣẹ́ lọ ní ìgbà kẹta, àwọn náà bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní sọtẹ́lẹ̀.
When it was told to Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.
22 Nígbẹ̀yìn, òun fúnra rẹ̀ sì lọ sí Rama ó sì dé ibi àmù ńlá kan ní Seku. Ó sì béèrè, “Níbo ni Samuẹli àti Dafidi wà?” Wọ́n wí pé, “Wọ́n wà ní ìrékọjá ní Naioti ní Rama.”
And Saul became very angry, and he himself also went to Ramah, and came to the cistern of the threshing floor that is on the bare hill. And he asked, "Where are Samuel and David?" And one said, "Look, they are in the dwellings at Ramah."
23 Saulu sì lọ sí Naioti ni Rama. Ṣùgbọ́n, Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run bà lé e lórí ó sì ń lọ lọ́nà, ó sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ títí tí ó fi dé Naioti.
So he went to the dwellings at Ramah. Then the Spirit of God came on him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to the dwellings in Ramah.
24 Ó sì bọ́ aṣọ rẹ̀, òun pẹ̀lú sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ níwájú Samuẹli. Ó sì dùbúlẹ̀ bẹ́ẹ̀ ní gbogbo ọjọ́ náà àti ní òru. Ìdí nìyìí tí àwọn ènìyàn fi wí pé, “Ṣé Saulu náà wà lára àwọn wòlíì ni?”
And he stripped off his clothes and prophesied before them, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Thus it is said, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
