< 1 Samuel 10 >
1 Samuẹli sì mú ìgò kékeré tí òróró wà nínú rẹ̀, ó sì dà á sí orí Saulu. Ó sì fi ẹnu kò ó ní ẹnu, wí pé, “Olúwa kò ha tí fi òróró yàn ọ ní olórí lórí ohun ìní rẹ̀?
Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured [it] upon his head, and kissed him, and said, [Is it] not because the LORD hath anointed thee [to be] captain over his inheritance?
2 Bí ìwọ bá kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi lónìí, ìwọ yóò bá ọkùnrin méjì pàdé lẹ́bàá ibojì Rakeli ní Selsa, ní agbègbè Benjamini. Wọ́n yóò sọ fún ọ pé, ‘Kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ tí ìwọ jáde lọ láti wá ní wọn tí rí. Nísinsin yìí, baba à rẹ tí dákẹ́ kò ronú nípa wọn mọ́, ó sì ń dààmú nípa à rẹ. Ó ń béèrè, “Kí ni èmi yóò ṣe nípa ọmọ mi?”’
When thou hast departed from me to-day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulcher in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
3 “Nígbà náà, ìwọ yóò lọ láti ibẹ̀ títí yóò fi dé ibi igi ńlá Tabori. Ọkùnrin mẹ́ta tí wọ́n ń gòkè lọ sọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run ní Beteli yóò pàdé rẹ níbẹ̀. Ọ̀kan yóò mú ọmọ ewúrẹ́ mẹ́ta lọ́wọ́, èkejì, ìṣù àkàrà mẹ́ta àti ẹ̀kẹta yóò mú ìgò wáìnì.
Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Beth-el, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:
4 Wọ́n yóò kí ọ, wọn yóò sì fún ọ ní ìṣù àkàrà méjì, tí ìwọ yóò gbà lọ́wọ́ wọn.
And they will salute thee, and give thee two [loaves] of bread; which thou shalt receive from their hands.
5 “Lẹ́yìn náà, ìwọ yóò lọ sí òkè Ọlọ́run, níbi tí ẹgbẹ́ ogun àwọn Filistini wà. Bí ìwọ ti ń súnmọ́ ìlú náà, ìwọ yóò bá àwọn wòlíì tí ó tò lọ́wọ̀ọ̀wọ́ bọ̀ láti ibi gíga, pẹ̀lú ohun èlò orin olókùn, tambori àti fèrè àti haapu níwájú wọn, wọn yóò sì máa sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀.
After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where [is] the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou hast come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp before them; and they will prophesy:
6 Ẹ̀mí Olúwa yóò sì bà lé ọ, ìwọ yóò sì sọtẹ́lẹ̀ pẹ̀lú wọn, ìwọ yóò sì di ẹni ọ̀tọ̀.
And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
7 Bí ìwọ bá ti rí àmì wọ̀nyí, ṣe ohunkóhun tí ọwọ́ rẹ bá bà láti ṣe, nítorí Ọlọ́run wà pẹ̀lú rẹ.
And let it be, when these signs have come to thee, [that] thou do as occasion shall serve thee; for God [is] with thee.
8 “Lọ ṣáájú mi sí Gilgali. Èmi yóò sọ̀kalẹ̀ tọ̀ ọ́ wá láti rú ẹbọ sísun àti láti rú ẹbọ ìrẹ́pọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ gbọdọ̀ dúró fún ọjọ́ méje títí èmi yóò fi wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ láti sọ fún ọ ohun tí ó yẹ tí ìwọ yóò ṣe.”
And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to thee, to offer burnt-offerings, [and] to sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and show thee what thou shalt do.
9 Bí Saulu ti yípadà láti fi Samuẹli sílẹ̀, Ọlọ́run yí ọkàn Saulu padà àti pé gbogbo àmì wọ̀nyí sì wá sí ìmúṣẹ ní ọjọ́ náà.
And it was [so], that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.
10 Nígbà tí wọ́n dé òkè Gibeah náà, àwọn wòlíì tí ó ń tò ní ọ̀wọ̀ọ̀wọ́ pàdé rẹ̀, Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run bà lé e nínú agbára, ó sì darapọ̀ bá wọ́n sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀.
And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
11 Nígbà tí gbogbo àwọn tí ó ti mọ̀ ọ́n tẹ́lẹ̀ rí i tó ń sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ pẹ̀lú àwọn wòlíì, wọ́n bi ara wọn, “Kí ni ohun tí ó ti ṣẹlẹ̀ sí ọmọ Kiṣi yìí. Ṣé Saulu wà lára àwọn wòlíì ni?”
And it came to pass when all that formerly knew him saw, that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What [is] this [that] hath come to the son of Kish? [Is] Saul also among the prophets?
12 Ọkùnrin kan tí ó ń gbé níbẹ̀ dáhùn pé, “Ta ni baba wọn?” Ó ti di ohun tí a fi ń pa òwe pé, ǹjẹ́ Saulu náà wà lára àwọn wòlíì bí?
And one of the same place answered and said, But who [is] their father? Therefore it became a proverb, [Is] Saul also among the prophets?
13 Lẹ́yìn tí Saulu dákẹ́ sísọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀, ó lọ sí ibi gíga.
And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.
14 Nísinsin yìí, arákùnrin baba Saulu béèrè lọ́wọ́ Saulu àti ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Níbo ni ẹ lọ?” Ó wí pé, “À ń wá àwọn kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́,” ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí a kò rí wọn, a lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ Samuẹli.
And Saul's uncle said to him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the asses: and when we saw that [they were] no where, we came to Samuel.
15 Arákùnrin baba Saulu wí pé, “Sọ fún mi ohun tí Samuẹli wí fún un yín.”
And Saul's uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, What Samuel said to you.
16 Saulu dáhùn pé, “Ó fi dá wa lójú pé wọ́n ti rí àwọn kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ náà.” Ṣùgbọ́n kò sọ fún arákùnrin baba a rẹ̀ ohun tí Samuẹli sọ nípa ọba jíjẹ.
And Saul said to his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, of which Samuel spoke, he told him not.
17 Samuẹli pé àwọn ọmọ Israẹli jọ sí iwájú Olúwa ní Mispa.
And Samuel called the people together to the LORD to Mizpeh;
18 Ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli sọ, ‘Èmi mú Israẹli jáde wá láti Ejibiti, Èmi sì gbà yín kúrò lọ́wọ́ agbára Ejibiti àti gbogbo ìjọba tí ó ń pọ́n ọn yín lójú.’
And said to the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, [and] of them that oppressed you:
19 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin ti kọ Ọlọ́run yín, tí ó gbà yín kúrò nínú gbogbo wàhálà àti ìpọ́njú yín. Ẹ̀yin sì ti sọ pé, ‘Rárá, yan ọba kan fún wa.’ Báyìí, ẹ kó ara yín jọ níwájú Olúwa ní ẹ̀yà àti ìdílé yín.”
And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities, and your tribulations; and ye have said to him, [No], but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.
20 Nígbà tí Samuẹli mú gbogbo ẹ̀yà Israẹli súnmọ́ tòsí, ó yan ẹ̀yà Benjamini.
And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
21 Ó kó ẹ̀yà Benjamini síwájú ní ìdílé ìdílé, a sì yan ìdílé Matiri. Ní ìparí a sì yan Saulu ọmọ Kiṣi. Ṣùgbọ́n ní ìgbà tí wọ́n wá a, a kò rí i,
When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.
22 bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n ṣe ìwádìí lọ́wọ́ Olúwa pé, “Ṣé ọkùnrin náà ti wá sí bí ni?” Olúwa sì sọ pé, “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó ti fi ara rẹ̀ pamọ́ láàrín àwọn ẹrù.”
Therefore they inquired of the LORD further, if the man would yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff.
23 Wọ́n sáré, wọ́n sì mú un jáde wá. Bí ó ti dúró láàrín àwọn ènìyàn, ó sì ga ju gbogbo àwọn tí ó kù lọ láti èjìká rẹ̀ sókè.
And they ran and brought him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.
24 Samuẹli sọ fún gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn pé, “Ṣé ẹ ti ri ọkùnrin tí Olúwa ti yàn? Kò sí ẹnìkan bí i rẹ̀ láàrín gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn.” Nígbà náà àwọn ènìyàn kígbe pé, “Kí ẹ̀mí ọba kí ó gùn!”
And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that [there is] none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.
25 Samuẹli ṣàlàyé fún àwọn ènìyàn àwọn ìlànà ìjọba. Ó kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé, ó sì fi lélẹ̀ níwájú Olúwa. Lẹ́yìn náà, Samuẹli tú àwọn ènìyàn ká olúkúlùkù sí ilé e rẹ̀.
Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote [it] in a book, and laid [it] up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.
26 Saulu náà padà sí ilé e rẹ̀ ní Gibeah. Àwọn akọni ọkùnrin tí Ọlọ́run ti fi ọwọ́ tọ́ ọkàn wọ́n sì sìn ín.
And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.
27 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọmọ Beliali wí pé, “Báwo ni ọkùnrin yìí yóò ti ṣe gbà wá?” Wọ́n kẹ́gàn rẹ̀, wọn kò sì mú ẹ̀bùn wá fún un, ṣùgbọ́n Saulu fọwọ́ lérán.
But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
