< 1 Kings 15 >
1 Ní ọdún kejìdínlógún ìjọba Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati, Abijah jẹ ọba lórí Juda,
Now in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam began to reign over Judah.
2 ó sì jẹ ọba ní ọdún mẹ́ta ní Jerusalẹmu. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ sì ni Maaka, ọmọbìnrin Absalomu.
He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.
3 Ó sì rìn nínú gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí baba rẹ̀ ti dá ṣáájú rẹ̀; ọkàn rẹ̀ kò sì pé pẹ̀lú Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọkàn Dafidi baba ńlá rẹ̀ ti ṣe.
He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
4 Ṣùgbọ́n, nítorí i Dafidi Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ fún un ní ìmọ́lẹ̀ kan ní Jerusalẹmu nípa gbígbé ọmọ rẹ̀ ró láti jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀ àti láti fi ìdí Jerusalẹmu múlẹ̀.
Nevertheless for David’s sake, the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem;
5 Nítorí tí Dafidi ṣe èyí tí ó dára ní ojú Olúwa, tí kò sì kùnà láti pa gbogbo èyí tí Olúwa pàṣẹ fún un mọ́ ní ọjọ́ ayé rẹ̀ gbogbo; bí kò ṣe ní kìkì ọ̀ràn Uriah ará Hiti.
because David did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, and did not turn away from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
6 Ogun sì wà láàrín Rehoboamu àti Jeroboamu ní gbogbo ọjọ́ ayé Abijah.
Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7 Ní ti ìyókù ìṣe Abijah, àti gbogbo èyí tí ó ṣe, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Juda? Ogun sì wà láàrín Abijah àti Jeroboamu.
The rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are not they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8 Abijah sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀, a sì sin ín ní ìlú Dafidi. Asa ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city; and Asa his son reigned in his place.
9 Ní ogún ọdún Jeroboamu ọba Israẹli, Asa jẹ ọba lórí Juda,
In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah.
10 Ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu ní ọdún mọ́kànlélógójì. Orúkọ ìyá ńlá rẹ̀ sì ni Maaka, ọmọbìnrin Absalomu.
He reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.
11 Asa sì ṣe èyí tí ó dára lójú Olúwa, bí Dafidi baba rẹ̀ ti ṣe.
Asa did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, as David his father did.
12 Ó sì mú àwọn ọkùnrin alágbèrè ojúbọ òrìṣà kúrò ní ilẹ̀ náà, ó sì kó gbogbo ère tí àwọn baba rẹ̀ ti ṣe kúrò.
He put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13 Ó sì mú Maaka ìyá ńlá rẹ̀ kúrò láti máa ṣe ayaba, nítorí tí ó yá ère kan fún Aṣerah òrìṣà rẹ̀. Asa sì ké ère náà lulẹ̀, ó sì jó o ní àfonífojì Kidironi.
He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah. Asa cut down her image and burned it at the brook Kidron.
14 Ṣùgbọ́n kò mú àwọn ibi gíga kúrò, síbẹ̀ ọkàn Asa pé pẹ̀lú Olúwa ní ọjọ́ ayé rẹ̀ gbogbo.
But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with the LORD all his days.
15 Ó sì mú wúrà àti fàdákà àti àwọn ohun èlò tí òun àti baba rẹ̀ ti yà sí mímọ́ wọ ilé Olúwa.
He brought into the LORD’s house the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that he himself had dedicated: silver, gold, and utensils.
16 Ogun sì wà láàrín Asa àti Baaṣa ọba Israẹli ní gbogbo ọjọ́ ayé wọn.
There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17 Baaṣa, ọba Israẹli sì gòkè lọ sí Juda, ó sì kọ́ Rama láti má jẹ́ kí ẹnikẹ́ni jáde tàbí wọlé tọ Asa ọba lọ.
Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
18 Nígbà náà ni Asa mú gbogbo fàdákà àti wúrà tí ó kù nínú ìṣúra ilé Olúwa àti ìṣúra ilé ọba. Ó sì fi lé àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́, ó sì rán wọn lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ Beni-Hadadi ọmọ Tabrimoni, ọmọ Hesioni ọba Siria tí ó ń gbé ní Damasku.
Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that was left in the treasures of the LORD’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered it into the hand of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
19 Ó sì wí pé, “Jẹ́ kí májẹ̀mú kí ó wà láàrín èmi àti ìwọ, bí ó sì ti wà láàrín baba mi àti baba rẹ. Wò ó, Èmi rán ọrẹ fàdákà àti wúrà sí ọ. Ǹjẹ́ nísinsin yìí, da májẹ̀mú rẹ pẹ̀lú Baaṣa, ọba Israẹli, kí ó lè lọ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi.”
“Let there be a treaty between me and you, like that between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”
20 Beni-Hadadi gba ti Asa ọba, ó sì rán àwọn alágbára olórí ogun rẹ̀ sí àwọn ìlú Israẹli. Ó sì ṣẹ́gun Ijoni, Dani àti Abeli-Beti-Maaka, àti gbogbo Kinnereti pẹ̀lú gbogbo ilẹ̀ Naftali.
Ben Hadad listened to King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Beth Maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
21 Nígbà tí Baaṣa sì gbọ́ èyí, ó sì ṣíwọ́ kíkọ́ Rama, ó sì lọ kúrò sí Tirsa.
When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and lived in Tirzah.
22 Nígbà náà ni Asa ọba kéde ká gbogbo Juda, kò dá ẹnìkan sí, wọ́n sì kó òkúta Rama kúrò àti igi rẹ̀, tí Baaṣa fi kọ́lé. Asa ọba sì fi wọ́n kọ́ Geba ti Benjamini àti Mispa.
Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah. No one was exempted. They carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and King Asa used it to build Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23 Ní ti ìyókù gbogbo ìṣe Asa, àti gbogbo agbára rẹ̀, àti gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣe, àti àwọn ìlú tí ó kọ́, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Juda? Ṣùgbọ́n, ní ìgbà ogbó rẹ̀, ààrùn ṣe é ní ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀.
Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are not they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24 Asa sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀, a sì sin ín pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀ ní ìlú Dafidi baba rẹ̀. Jehoṣafati ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.
25 Nadabu ọmọ Jeroboamu sì jẹ ọba lórí Israẹli ní ọdún kejì Asa ọba Juda, ó sì jẹ ọba lórí Israẹli ní ọdún méjì.
Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
26 Ó sì ṣe búburú níwájú Olúwa, ó sì rìn ní ọ̀nà baba rẹ̀ àti nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀, èyí tí ó mú Israẹli dá.
He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
27 Baaṣa ọmọ Ahijah ti ilé Isakari sì dìtẹ̀ sí i, Baaṣa sì kọlù ú ní Gibetoni, ìlú àwọn ará Filistini, nígbà tí Nadabu àti gbogbo Israẹli dó ti Gibetoni.
Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.
28 Baaṣa sì pa Nadabu ní ọdún kẹta Asa ọba Juda, ó sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha killed him and reigned in his place.
29 Ó sì ṣe, bí ó sì ti bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní jẹ ọba ó pa gbogbo ilé Jeroboamu, kò sì ku ẹnìkan tí ń mí fún Jeroboamu, ṣùgbọ́n ó run gbogbo wọn, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa, tí ó sọ nípa ọwọ́ ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ Ahijah ará Ṣilo.
As soon as he was king, he struck all the house of Jeroboam. He did not leave to Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite;
30 Nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí Jeroboamu ti ṣẹ̀ àti tí ó mú Israẹli ṣẹ̀, àti nítorí tí ó ti mú Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli bínú.
for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger.
31 Ní ti ìyókù ìṣe Nadabu àti gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣe, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Israẹli?
Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are not they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
32 Ogun sì wà láàrín Asa àti Baaṣa ọba Israẹli ní gbogbo ọjọ́ wọn.
There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
33 Ní ọdún kẹta Asa ọba Juda, Baaṣa ọmọ Ahijah sì jẹ ọba lórí gbogbo Israẹli ní Tirsa, ó sì jẹ ọba ní ọdún mẹ́rìnlélógún.
In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah for twenty-four years.
34 Ó sì ṣe búburú níwájú Olúwa, ó sì rìn ní ọ̀nà Jeroboamu àti nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀, èyí tí ó ti mú Israẹli ṣẹ̀.
He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
