< 1 John 2 >

1 Ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi ọ̀wọ́n, mo kọ ìwé nǹkan wọ̀nyí sí yín, kí ẹ̀yin má bà á dẹ́ṣẹ̀. Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹnikẹ́ni bá sì dẹ́ṣẹ̀, àwa ni alágbàwí lọ́dọ̀ Baba: Jesu Kristi, olódodo nìkan.
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
2 Òun sì ní ètùtù fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wa, kì í tilẹ̀ ṣe fún tiwa nìkan ṣùgbọ́n fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gbogbo aráyé.
He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 Àwa mọ̀ pé àwa ti wá mọ̀ ọ́n, bí àwa bá ń pa òfin rẹ̀ mọ́.
By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.
4 Ẹni tí ó bá wí pé, “Èmi mọ̀ ọ́n,” tí kò sì pa òfin rẹ̀ mọ́, èké ni, òtítọ́ kò sì ṣí nínú rẹ̀.
If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá ń pa òfin rẹ̀ mọ́, lára rẹ̀ ni a gbé mú ìfẹ́ Ọlọ́run pé nítòótọ́. Nípa èyí ni àwa mọ̀ pé àwa ń wà nínú rẹ̀.
But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him:
6 Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá wí pé òun ń gbé inú rẹ̀, òun náà pẹ̀lú sì yẹ láti máa rìn gẹ́gẹ́ bí Jesu ti rìn.
Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
7 Ẹ̀yin olùfẹ́ ọ̀wọ́n, kì í ṣe òfin tuntun ni mo ń kọ̀wé rẹ̀ sí yín ṣùgbọ́n òfin àtijọ́, èyí tí ẹ̀yin tí gbọ́ ní àtètèkọ́ṣe. Òfin àtijọ́ ni ọ̀rọ̀ náà tí ẹ̀yin tí gbọ́.
Beloved, I am not writing to you a new commandment, but an old one, which you have had from the beginning. This commandment is the message you have heard.
8 Pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú, òfin tuntun ni mo ń kọ̀wé rẹ̀ sí yín; èyí tí í ṣe òtítọ́ nínú rẹ̀ àti nínú yin, nítorí òkùnkùn ń kọjá lọ, ìmọ́lẹ̀ òtítọ́ sì tí ń tàn.
Then again, I am also writing to you a new commandment, which is true in Him and also in you. For the darkness is fading and the true light is already shining.
9 Ẹni tí ó bá sì wí pé òun ń wà nínú ìmọ́lẹ̀, tí ó sì kórìíra arákùnrin rẹ̀ sì ń bẹ nínú òkùnkùn.
If anyone claims to be in the light but hates his brother, he is still in the darkness.
10 Ẹni tí ó ba fẹ́ràn arákùnrin rẹ̀, ó ń gbé inú ìmọ́lẹ̀, kò sì ṣí ohun ìkọ̀sẹ̀ kan nínú rẹ̀.
Whoever loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause of stumbling in him.
11 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí o bá kórìíra arákùnrin rẹ̀ ń gbé nínú òkùnkùn, ó sì ń rìn nínú òkùnkùn; kò sì mọ ibi tí òun ń lọ, nítorí tí òkùnkùn tí fọ́ ọ lójú.
But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
12 Èmi ń kọ̀wé sí yín, ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi ọ̀wọ́n, nítorí tí a darí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yín jì yín nítorí orúkọ rẹ̀.
I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven through His name.
13 Èmi ń kọ̀wé sí yín, ẹ̀yin baba, nítorí tí ẹ̀yin tí mọ ẹni tí ó wà ní àtètèkọ́ṣe, Èmi ń kọ̀wé sí yín, ẹ̀yin ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin, nítorí tí ẹ̀yin ti ṣẹ́gun ẹni ibi náà.
I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father.
14 Èmi ń kọ̀wé sí yín, ẹ̀yin ọmọdé mi ọ̀wọ́n, nítorí ẹ̀yin ti mọ Baba. Èmi ń kọ̀wé sí yín, ẹ̀yin baba, nítorí ti ẹ̀yin tí mọ ẹni tí o wà ni àtètèkọ́ṣe. Èmi ń kọ̀wé sí yín, ẹ̀yin ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin, nítorí tí ẹ̀yin ni agbára, tí ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run sì ń gbé nínú yín, tí ẹ sì ṣẹ́gun ẹni ibi náà.
I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
15 Ẹ má ṣe fẹ́ràn ayé tàbí ohunkóhun tí ń bẹ nínú ayé. Bí ẹnikẹ́ni bá fẹ́ràn ayé, ìfẹ́ tí Baba kò sí nínú rẹ̀.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 Nítorí ohun gbogbo tí ń bẹ nínú ayé: ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ ti ara, ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ ti ojú, àti ìgbéraga ti ohun ti ó ní àti ohun tí ó ṣe kò wá láti ọ̀dọ̀ Baba bí kò ṣe láti ọwọ́ ayé.
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world.
17 Ayé sì ń kọjá lọ àti ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó ba ń ṣe ìfẹ́ Ọlọ́run ni yóò wà títí láéláé. (aiōn g165)
The world is passing away, along with its desires; but whoever does the will of God remains forever. (aiōn g165)
18 Ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi ọ̀wọ́n, ìgbà ìkẹyìn ni èyí; bí ẹ̀yin sì tí gbọ́ pé aṣòdì sí Kristi ń bọ̀ wá, àní nísinsin yìí, púpọ̀ aṣòdì sí Kristi ló ń bẹ. Nípa èyí ni àwa fi mọ́ pé ìgbà ìkẹyìn ni èyí.
Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know it is the last hour.
19 Wọ́n ti ọ̀dọ̀ wá jáde, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kì í ṣe ara wa. Nítorí bí wọ́n bá jẹ́ ara wa, wọn ìbá bá wa dúró, ṣùgbọ́n jíjáde lọ wọn fihàn pé gbogbo wọn kì í ṣe ara wa.
They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us.
20 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin ní ìfòróróyàn láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ wá, gbogbo yín sì mọ òtítọ́.
You, however, have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.
21 Èmi kò kọ̀wé sí yín nítorí pé ẹ̀yin kò mọ òtítọ́, ṣùgbọ́n nítorí tí ẹ̀yin mọ̀ ọ́n, àti pé kò sí èké nínú òtítọ́.
I have not written to you because you lack knowledge of the truth, but because you have it, and because no lie comes from the truth.
22 Ta ni èké? Ẹni tí ó sẹ́ pé Jesu kì í ṣe Kristi. Eléyìí ni Aṣòdì sí Kristi, ẹni tí ó sẹ́ Baba àti Ọmọ.
Who is the liar, if it is not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son.
23 Ẹnikẹ́ni tí o ba sẹ́ Ọmọ, kò gba Baba; ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó ba jẹ́wọ́ Ọmọ, ó gba Baba pẹ̀lú.
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father, but whoever confesses the Son has the Father as well.
24 Ẹ jẹ́ kí èyí tí ẹ tí gbọ́ ni àtètèkọ́ṣe máa gbé inú yín. Bí èyí tí ẹ̀yin tí gbọ́ ní àtètèkọ́ṣe bá ń gbé inú yín, ẹ̀yin ó sì dúró nínú Ọmọ àti nínú Baba.
As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father.
25 Èyí sì ni ìlérí náà tí ó tí ṣe fún wa, àní ìyè àìnípẹ̀kun. (aiōnios g166)
And this is the promise that He Himself made to us: eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
26 Nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni mo kọ̀wé sí yín ní ti àwọn tí wọ́n fẹ́ ẹ mú yín ṣìnà.
I have written these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you.
27 Ṣùgbọ́n ní ti ìfòróróyàn tí ẹ̀yín gba lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀ ṣì ń gbé inú yín, ẹ̀yin kò tún nílò pé kí ẹnìkan kọ yín. Ṣùgbọ́n bí ìfòróróyàn náà ti ń kọ́ yín ní ohun gbogbo tí ó jẹ́ òtítọ́, tí kì í sì í ṣe èké, àní gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó sì ti kọ́ yín, ẹ máa gbé inú rẹ̀.
And as for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But just as His true and genuine anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught.
28 Àti nísinsin yìí, ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi ọ̀wọ́n, ẹ máa gbé inú rẹ̀, pé nígbà tí òun ó bá farahàn, kí a lè ni ìgboyà níwájú rẹ̀, kí ojú má sì tì wá níwájú rẹ̀ ni ìgbà wíwá rẹ̀.
And now, little children, remain in Christ, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.
29 Bí ẹ̀yin ba mọ̀ pé olódodo ni òun, ẹ mọ̀ pé a bí olúkúlùkù ẹni tí ń ṣe òdodo nípa rẹ̀.
If you know that He is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him.
