< 1 Corinthians 4 >

1 Nítorí náà, ṣe ló yẹ kí ènìyàn máa wò wá gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìránṣẹ́ àti ìríjú tí a fún ni oore-ọ̀fẹ́ láti mọ Kristi tí a fún ní oore-ọ̀fẹ́ láti mọ àwọn ohun ìjìnlẹ̀ Ọlọ́run.
Let a man, so, be reckoning of us, as officers of Christ, and stewards of sacred secrets of God.
2 Òun kan náà tí ó tọ́ fún ìríjú, ni kí ó jẹ́ olóòtítọ́.
Here, furthermore, it is sought in stewards, that, faithful, one be found.
3 Ṣùgbọ́n ohun kíkíní ni fún mi pé, kí ẹ máa ṣe ìdájọ́ mi, tàbí kí a máa ṣe ìdájọ́ nípa ìdájọ́ ènìyàn; nítòótọ́, èmi kò tilẹ̀ dá ara mi lẹ́jọ́.
With me, however, it counteth for the very smallest thing, that, by you, I should be examined, or by a human day. Nay! I am not even examining myself,
4 Nítorí tí ẹ̀rí ọkàn mi kò dá mi ní ẹ̀bi; ṣùgbọ́n a kò ti ipa èyí dá mi láre, ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa ni ẹni tí ń ṣe ìdájọ́ mi.
For, of nothing, to myself, am I conscious: nevertheless, not hereby, am I declared righteous, but, he that doth examine me, is the Lord.
5 Nítorí náà, kí ẹ má ṣe ṣe ìdájọ́ ohunkóhun, kí Olúwa tó padà dé, ẹni tí yóò mú ohunkóhun tí ó fi ara sin wá sí ìmọ́lẹ̀, tí yóò sì fi ìmọ̀ ọkàn ènìyàn hàn, nígbà náà ni olúkúlùkù yóò sì ní ìyìn tirẹ̀ lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run.
So then, not before the fitting time, be judging anything, —until the Lord shall come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and, then, the praise shall come to each one, from God.
6 Ẹ kíyèsi i pé, mo ti fi ara mi àti Apollo ṣe àpẹẹrẹ nǹkan tí mo wí, pé kí ẹ̀yin lè ti ipa wa kọ́ láti máa ṣe ohun tí a ti kọ̀wé kọjá. “Kí ẹnikẹ́ni nínú yín má ṣe tìtorí ẹnìkan gbéraga sí ẹnìkejì.”
But, these things, brethren, have I transferred unto myself and Apollos, for your sakes, that, in us, ye might learn [the lesson] —Not beyond the things that are written…! that ye do not puff yourselves up, individually, for this one against that.
For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou which thou didst not receive? But, if thou didst even receive it, why dost thou boast, as though thou hadst not received it?
8 Ni báyìí ẹ ní ohun gbogbo tí ẹ ń fẹ́! Báyìí ẹ sì ti di ọlọ́rọ̀! Ẹ ti di ọba. Lójú yín, àwa ti di ẹni ẹ̀yìn. Ìbá dùn mọ́ mi tí ó bá jẹ́ pé lóòtítọ́ ni ẹ ti di ọba lórí ìtẹ́ yín: tí a ó sì máa jẹ ọba pẹ̀lú yín!
Already, ye have become full, already, ye are become rich, —apart from us, ye are become kings! And I would indeed ye had become kings, that, we also, with you, might have together become kings!
9 Nítorí mo rò pé Ọlọ́run ń fi àwa aposteli hàn ní ìkẹyìn bí ẹni tí a dá lẹ́bi ikú bí àwọn, nítorí tí a fi wá ṣe ìran wò fún àwọn ènìyàn àti àwọn angẹli àti gbogbo ayé.
For I think that, God, hath set forth, us the apostles, to be last of all, as men devoted to death, —in that, a spectacle, have we been made, unto the world, —both unto messengers and unto men.
10 Àwa jẹ́ aṣiwèrè nítorí Kristi, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin jẹ́ ọlọ́gbọ́n nínú Kristi! Àwa jẹ́ aláìlera, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin jẹ́ alágbára! Ẹ̀yin jẹ́ ẹni àyẹ́sí, àwa jẹ ẹni ẹ̀gàn!
We, are foolish for Christ’s sake, but, ye, prudent in Christ; we are weak, but, ye, mighty; ye, all-glorious, but, we, dishonoured.
11 Títí di wákàtí yìí ni a ń rìn kiri nínú ebi àti òǹgbẹ, a n wọ aṣọ àkísà, tí a sì ń lù wa, tí a kò sì ní ibùgbé kan.
Until the present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and are wanderers,
12 Tí a ń fi ọwọ́ ara wa ṣiṣẹ́, wọn ń gàn wa, àwa ń súre, wọn ń ṣe inúnibíni sí wa, àwa ń forítì i.
And toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless, being persecuted, we hold on,
13 Wọn ń kẹ́gàn wa, àwa ń bẹ̀bẹ̀. Títí di ìsinsin yìí ni a ti wà bí ohun ẹ̀gbin ayé, bí orí àkìtàn gbogbo ayé.
Being defamed, we beseech: as the sweepings of the world have we become, the offscouring of all—until even now.
14 Èmi kò kọ̀wé nǹkan wọ̀nyí láti fi dójútì yín, ṣùgbọ́n láti kìlọ̀ fún un yín bí àwọn ọmọ mi tí mo yàn fẹ́.
Not, to shame you, write I these things; but, as my beloved children, I admonish you.
15 Nítorí bí ẹ̀yin tilẹ̀ ní ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá olùkọ́ni nínú Kristi, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin kò ni baba púpọ̀; nítorí nínú Kristi Jesu ni mo jẹ́ baba fún un yín nípasẹ̀ ìyìnrere.
For, though myriads of tutors ye should have in Christ, yet not many fathers; for, in Christ Jesus, through means of the joyful message, I, begat you.
16 Nítorí náà mo bẹ̀ yín, ẹ máa ṣe àfarawé mi.
I beseech you, therefore, —become imitators of me.
17 Nítorí náà ni mo ṣe rán Timotiu sí i yín, ẹni tí í ṣe ọmọ mi olùfẹ́ àti olódodo nínú Olúwa, ẹni tí yóò máa mú yín rántí ọ̀nà mi tí ó wà nínú Kristi Jesu, gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti ń kọ́ni nínú gbogbo ìjọ níbi gbogbo.
For this cause, sent I unto you, Timothy, —who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put, you, in mind of my ways which are in Christ [Jesus], even as, everywhere, in every assembly, I teach.
18 Mo mọ̀ pé àwọn mìíràn nínú yín tó ya onígbèéraga ènìyàn, tí wọn ń rò pé ẹ̀rù ń bà mi láti wá sọ́dọ̀ yín.
But, as though I were not coming unto you, some are puffed up!
19 Ṣùgbọ́n èmi yóò tọ̀ yín wá ní àìpẹ́ yìí bí Olúwa bá fẹ́; èmi yóò ṣe ìwádìí bí àwọn agbéraga yìí ṣe ń sọ̀rọ̀ àti agbára tí wọ́n ní.
Howbeit, I will come quickly unto you, —if, the Lord, please, —and will get to know—not the speech of them who are puffed up, but, the power;
20 Nítorí ìjọba Ọlọ́run kì í ṣe nínú ọ̀rọ̀, bí kò ṣe nínú agbára.
For, not in speech, is the kingdom of God, but, in power.
21 Èwo ni ẹ yàn? Kí ń wá sọ́dọ̀ yín pẹ̀lú pàṣán, tàbí ni ìfẹ́, àti ẹ̀mí tútù?
What will ye? that, with a rod, I should come unto you? or, with love, and a spirit of meekness?
