< 1 Corinthians 2 >

1 Nígbà tí èmí tọ̀ yín wá, ẹ̀yin ará, kì í ṣe nípa ọ̀rọ̀ gíga àti ọgbọ́n gíga ni mo fi bá yín sọ̀rọ̀, nígbà tí èmi ń sọ̀rọ̀ ohun ìjìnlẹ̀ Ọlọ́run fún un yín.
When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with superiority of speech or wisdom, proclaiming to you the mystery of God.
2 Èmi ti pinnu láti má mọ ohunkóhun nígbà ti mo wà láàrín yín bí kò ṣe Jesu Kristi, ẹni tí a kàn mọ́ àgbélébùú.
For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 Èmi sì tọ̀ yín wá ni àìlera, àti ní ẹ̀rù, àti ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìwárìrì.
When I was with you, I was weak and afraid and I shook.
4 Ìwàásù mi àti ẹ̀kọ́ mi, kì í ṣe nípa ọgbọ́n ènìyàn àti ọ̀rọ̀ tí a fi ń yí ènìyàn lọ́kàn padà, bí kò ṣe nípa ìfihàn agbára Ẹ̀mí.
My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 Kí ìgbàgbọ́ yín kí ó má ṣe dúró lórí ọgbọ́n ènìyàn, ṣùgbọ́n kí ó dúró lórí agbára Ọlọ́run.
that your faith would not rest on human wisdom, but on the power of God.
6 Ṣùgbọ́n àwa ń sọ̀rọ̀ ọgbọ́n láàrín àwọn tí a pè, ṣùgbọ́n kì í ṣe ọgbọ́n ti ayé yìí tàbí ti àwọn olórí ayé yìí, èyí tí yóò di asán. (aiōn g165)
We speak wisdom, however, among those who are mature, but a wisdom not of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are passing away. (aiōn g165)
7 Bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́, àwa ń sọ̀rọ̀ ọgbọ́n ti Ọlọ́run tó fi ara sin, ọgbọ́n tí ó ti fi ara pamọ́, èyí tí Ọlọ́run ti lànà sílẹ̀ ṣáájú ìpilẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ayé fún ògo wa. (aiōn g165)
But we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God determined in advance before the ages for our glory, (aiōn g165)
8 Èyí ti ẹnikẹ́ni nínú àwọn aláṣẹ ayé yìí kò mọ̀. Ìbá ṣe pé wọ́n mọ̀ ọ́n, wọn kì bá tún kan Olúwa ògo mọ́ àgbélébùú. (aiōn g165)
which none of the rulers of this age has understood. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (aiōn g165)
9 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti kọ ọ́ pé: “Ojú kò tí ì rí, etí kò tí í gbọ́, kò sì ọkàn ènìyàn tí ó tí í mọ̀ ohun tí Ọlọ́run tí pèsè sílẹ̀ fún àwọn tí o fẹ́ ẹ.”
But as it is written, No eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things which God has prepared for those who love him.
10 Ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run ti fi í hàn fún wa nípasẹ̀ Ẹ̀mí rẹ̀. Ẹ̀mí á máa wádìí ohun gbogbo, kódà àwọn àṣírí Ọlọ́run tó jinlẹ̀ jùlọ.
But to us God revealed it through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
11 Ta ni nínú ènìyàn tí ó mọ èrò ọkàn ènìyàn kan, bí kò ṣe ẹ̀mí ènìyàn tí ó wà nínú rẹ̀? Bákan náà, kò sí ẹni ti ó mọ àwọn èrò Ọlọ́run, bí kò ṣe Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run fúnra rẹ̀.
For what person knows the things of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Àwa kò gbà ẹ̀mí ti ayé yìí, bí kò ṣe Ẹ̀mí ẹni tí ó ti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run wa, kí a lè ní òye ohun tí Ọlọ́run fi fún wa lọ́fẹ̀ẹ́.
But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.
13 Èyí ni àwa ń wí, kì í ṣe èyí tí a ń kọ nípa ọ̀rọ̀ ọgbọ́n ènìyàn, ṣùgbọ́n èyí tí Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ fi ń kọ ènìyàn, èyí tí a ń fi ohun Ẹ̀mí wé ohun Ẹ̀mí.
And we speak of these things, not with words taught by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
14 Ṣùgbọ́n ènìyàn nípa ti ara kò gba ohun ti Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run wọ̀n-ọn-nì, nítorí pé wèrè ni wọ́n jásí fún un, òun kò sì le mọ̀ wọ́n, nítorí nípa tí Ẹ̀mí ní a fi ń wádìí wọn.
Now the natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó wà nípa ti ẹ̀mí ń wádìí ohun gbogbo, ṣùgbọ́n kò sí ẹnikẹ́ni tí í wádìí rẹ̀.
But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one.
16 “Nítorí ta ni ó mọ ọkàn Olúwa, ti yóò fi máa kọ́ Ọ?” Ṣùgbọ́n àwa ní inú Kristi.
For, "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Who will instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
