< 1 Corinthians 12 >

1 Ní ti Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ ẹ̀yin ará, kò yẹ́ kí ẹ jẹ́ òpè.
Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.
2 Ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ pé nígbà tí ẹ̀yin jẹ́ kèfèrí, a fà yín lọ sọ́dọ̀ àwọn odi òrìṣà.
You know that when you were pagans, you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
3 Nítorí náà, èmí ń sọ fún un yín pé kò sí ẹni ti ń sọ̀rọ̀ nípasẹ̀ Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run tí ó lè wí pé, “Ẹni ìfibú ni Jesu,” àti pé kò sí ẹni tí ó lè sọ pé, “Olúwa ni Jesu,” bí kò ṣe nípasẹ̀ Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́.
Therefore I inform you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
4 Ǹjẹ́ onírúurú ẹ̀bùn ni ó wà, ṣùgbọ́n Ẹ̀mí kan náà ni o ń pín wọn.
There are different gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 Onírúurú iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ ni ó sì wà, ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run kan náà sì ni.
There are different ministries, but the same Lord.
6 Onírúurú iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ ni ó sì wà, ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run kan náà ni ẹni tí ń ṣiṣẹ́ gbogbo wọn nínú gbogbo wọn.
There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people.
7 Ṣùgbọ́n à ń fi ẹ̀bùn Ẹ̀mí fún olúkúlùkù ènìyàn láti fi jèrè.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ lè fún ẹnìkan ní ọgbọ́n láti lè fún ènìyàn nímọ̀ràn, ẹlòmíràn ní ẹ̀bùn láti sọ̀rọ̀ pẹ̀lú ìmọ̀ ńlá. Láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ kan náà ni èyí ti wá.
To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit,
9 Ó fi ẹ̀bùn ìgbàgbọ́ fún ẹlòmíràn, ẹlòmíràn ló sì fi agbára ìwòsàn fún nípa Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ kan náà.
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
10 Ó fi agbára fún àwọn mìíràn láti ṣe àwọn iṣẹ́ ìyanu. Ó fún àwọn mìíràn lágbára láti sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ àti láti wàásù pẹ̀lú ìmísí. Bákan náà ló fún àwọn kan lẹ́bùn láti mọ ìyàtọ̀ láàrín àwọn ẹ̀mí. Ó fún àwọn ẹlòmíràn ní ẹ̀bùn àti agbára láti lè sọ èdè tí wọn kò mọ̀. Bákan náà ó fún àwọn ẹlòmíràn lágbára láti mọ̀ àti láti túmọ̀ èdè tí wọn kò gbọ́ rí.
to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 Àní, Ẹ̀mí kan ṣoṣo ní ń fún ni ní gbogbo ẹ̀bùn àti agbára wọ̀nyí. Òun ni ẹni tí ń ṣe ìpinnu ẹ̀bùn tí ó yẹ láti fún ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan.
All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines.
12 Ara jẹ́ ọ̀kan tí ó ní àwọn ẹ̀yà púpọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n gbogbo àwọn ẹ̀yà ara tí ó pọ̀ wọ̀nyí ni ó papọ̀ láti jẹ́ ara kan ṣoṣo. Bákan náà ni ó rí pẹ̀lú ara Kristi tí í ṣe ìjọ.
The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.
13 Nítorí pé nínú Ẹ̀mí kan ní a ti bamitiisi gbogbo wa sínú ara kan, ìbá à ṣe Júù, ìbá à ṣe Giriki, ìbá à ṣe ẹrú, ìbá à ṣe òmìnira, gbogbo wa ni a mu nínú Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ kan náà.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.
14 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, ara, kì í ṣe ẹ̀yà kan ṣoṣo bí kò ṣe púpọ̀.
For the body does not consist of one part, but of many.
15 Tí ẹsẹ̀ bá wí pé, “Nítorí èmi kì í ṣe ọwọ́, èmi kì í ṣe ti ara,” èyí kò wí pé kì í ṣe ọ̀kan lára nínú ẹ̀yà ara.
If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
16 Bí etí bá wí pé, “Nítorí èmi kì í ṣe ojú, èmi kì í ṣe apá kan ara,” èyí kò le mú kí ó má jẹ́ apá kan ara mọ́.
And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
17 Bí gbogbo ara bá jẹ́ ojú, níbo ni ìgbọ́ran ìbá gbé wà? Bí gbogbo ara bá jẹ́ etí, níbo ni ìgbóórùn ìbá gbé wà?
If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
18 Ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run ti fi àwọn ẹ̀yà ara si ara wa, ó sí fi ẹ̀yà kọ̀ọ̀kan sí ibi tí ó fẹ́ kí ó wà.
But in fact, God has arranged the members of the body, every one of them, according to His design.
19 Bí gbogbo wọn bá sì jẹ́ ọ̀kan ṣoṣo nínú ẹ̀yà ara, níbo ni ara yóò gbé wà.
If they were all one part, where would the body be?
20 Ọlọ́run dá ẹ̀yà ara púpọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ara kan ṣoṣo ni.
As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 Bí ó tí rí yìí, ojú kò lè sọ fún ọwọ́ pé, “Èmi kò nílò rẹ.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni orí kò le sọ fún ẹsẹ̀ pé, “Èmi kò nílò rẹ.”
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you.” Nor can the head say to the feet, “I do not need you.”
22 Àwọn ẹ̀yà ara tí ó dàbí ẹni pé wọ́n ṣe aláìlágbára jùlọ, tí ó dàbí ẹni pé kò ṣe pàtàkì rárá, àwọn gan an ni a kò le ṣe aláìnílò.
On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
23 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹ̀yà ara tí a rò pé kò lọ́lá rárá ni àwa ń fi ọlá fún jùlọ. Àwọn ẹ̀yà ara tí a rò pé ko yẹ rárá ni àwa ń fi si ipò ọlá ẹ̀yẹ tí ó ga jùlọ.
and the parts we consider less honorable, we treat with greater honor. And our unpresentable parts are treated with special modesty,
24 Nítorí pé àwọn ibi tí ó ní ẹ̀yẹ ní ara wa kò nílò ìtọ́jú ọ̀tọ̀. Ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run ti pa gbogbo ẹ̀yà ara pọ̀ ṣọ̀kan lọ́nà kan, ó sì ti fi ẹ̀yẹ tó ga jùlọ fún ibi tí ó ṣe aláìní.
whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God has composed the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
25 Kí ó má ṣe sí ìyàtọ̀ nínú ara, ṣùgbọ́n kí àwọn ẹ̀yà ara le máa jẹ́ olùrànlọ́wọ́ fún ara wọn.
so that there should be no division in the body, but that its members should have mutual concern for one another.
26 Bí ẹ̀yà ara kan bá ń jìyà, gbogbo àwọn ẹ̀yà ara ìyókù a máa bá a pín nínú ìyà náà. Tí a bá sì bu ọlá fún ẹ̀yà ara kan, gbogbo ẹ̀yà ara ìyókù a máa bá a yọ̀.
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27 Gbogbo yín jẹ́ ara Kristi, ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yín sì jẹ́ ẹ̀yà ara ọ̀tọ̀ọ̀tọ̀ nínú ara Kristi.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a member of it.
28 Ọlọ́run sì gbé àwọn mìíràn kalẹ̀ nínú ìjọ, èkínní àwọn aposteli, èkejì àwọn wòlíì, ẹ̀kẹta àwọn olùkọ́ni, lẹ́yìn náà, àwọn tó ń ṣiṣẹ́ ìyanu, lẹ́yìn náà àwọn tí ó ní ẹ̀bùn ìmúláradá, àwọn olùrànlọ́wọ́ àti àwọn agbani nímọ̀ràn, àwọn tí ń sọ onírúurú èdè.
And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, and those with gifts of healing, helping, administration, and various tongues.
29 Ǹjẹ́ gbogbo ènìyàn ni ó jẹ́ aposteli bi? Tàbí gbogbo ènìyàn ni wòlíì bí? Ṣe gbogbo ènìyàn ní olùkọ́ni? Ṣé gbogbo ènìyàn ló ní agbára láti ṣe iṣẹ́ ìyanu bí?
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30 Ṣé gbogbo ènìyàn ló lè wonisàn bí? Rárá. Ǹjẹ́ gbogbo wa ni Ọlọ́run fún ní ẹ̀bùn láti le sọ̀rọ̀ ní èdè tí a kò ì tí ì gbọ́ rí bí? Ṣé ẹnikẹ́ni ló lè túmọ̀ èdè tí wọ́n sọ tí kò sì yé àwọn ènìyàn bí?
Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
31 Ṣùgbọ́n, ẹ máa fi ìtara ṣàfẹ́rí ẹ̀bùn ti ó tóbi jù. Síbẹ̀ èmi o fi ọ̀nà kan tí ó tayọ rékọjá hàn yín.
But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
