1 Gbogbo Israẹli ni a kọ lẹ́sẹẹsẹ nínú ìtàn ìdílé láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn baba ńlá nínú ìwé àwọn ọba Israẹli. Àwọn ènìyàn Juda ni a kó ní ìgbèkùn lọ sí Babeli nítorí àìṣòótọ́ wọn.
All of the people of Israel were recorded in the genealogies written down in the book of the kings of Israel. The people of Judah were taken away to captivity in Babylon because they had been unfaithful.
2 Nísinsin yìí, àwọn tí ó kọ́kọ́ tún tẹ̀dó lórí ohun ìní wọn ní ìlú wọn ni díẹ̀ nínú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, àwọn àlùfáà, àwọn ará Lefi àti àwọn ìránṣẹ́ ilé Olúwa.
The first to return and reclaim their property and live in their towns were some Israelites, priests, Levities, and Temple servants.
3 Àwọn tí ó wá láti Juda láti Benjamini àti láti Efraimu àti Manase tí ó ń gbé ní Jerusalẹmu jẹ́:
Some from the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh returned to live in Jerusalem. They included:
4 Uttai ọmọ Ammihudu, ọmọ Omri, ọmọ Imri, ọmọ Bani, ìran ọmọ Peresi ọmọ Juda.
Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, a descendant of Perez, son of Judah.

From the Shilonites: Asaiah (firstborn) and his sons.
6 Ní ti ará Sera: Jeueli. Àwọn ènìyàn láti Juda sì jẹ́ ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀rin ó dín mẹ́wàá.
From the Zerahites: Jeuel and relatives totaled 690.
7 Àti nínú àwọn ọmọ Benjamini ni: Sallu ọmọ Meṣullamu, ọmọ Hodafiah; ọmọ Hasenuah;
From the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;
8 Ibinaiah ọmọ Jerohamu; Ela ọmọ Ussi, ọmọ Mikri; àti Meṣullamu ọmọ Ṣefatia; ọmọ Reueli, ọmọ Ibinijah.
Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, son of Micri; and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah.
9 Àwọn ènìyàn láti Benjamini gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti ṣe kọ ọ́ nínú ìran wọn nínú ìtàn ìdílé láti ọ̀dọ̀ baba ńlá wọn, tí ó jẹ́ ẹgbẹ̀rún ó dín mẹ́rìnlélógójì. Gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin yí jẹ́ àwọn olórí àwọn ìdílé.
All of them were family heads as recorded in their genealogies, and they totaled 956.

From the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jakin,
11 Asariah ọmọ Hilkiah, ọmọ Meṣullamu, ọmọ Sadoku, ọmọ Meraioti, ọmọ Ahitubu, olórí tí ó ń bojútó ilé Ọlọ́run;
Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub. (Azariah was the head official in charge of the house of God.)
12 Adaiah ọmọ Jerohamu, ọmọ Paṣuri, ọmọ Malkiah; àti Masai ọmọ Adieli, ọmọ Jahisera, ọmọ Meṣullamu ọmọ Meṣilemiti, ọmọ Immeri.
Also Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malkijah, and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer.
13 Àwọn àlùfáà, tí wọ́n jẹ́ àwọn olórí àwọn ìdílé, tí ó jẹ́ ẹgbẹ̀sán ó dín méjì. Wọ́n jẹ́ alágbára ọkùnrin, tí wọ́n lè dúró fún iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ nínú ilé Ọlọ́run.
The priests, who were family heads, totaled 1,760. They were strong and capable men who served in the house of God.
14 Ní ti àwọn ará Lefi: Ṣemaiah ọmọ Haṣubu, ọmọ Asrikamu, ọmọ Haṣabiah ará Merari;
From the Levites: Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;
15 Bakibakari, Hereṣi, Galali àti Mattaniah, ọmọ Mika, ọmọ Sikri, ọmọ Asafu;
Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zicri, son of Asaph;
16 Obadiah ọmọ Ṣemaiah, ọmọ Galali, ọmọ Jedutuni; àti Berekiah ọmọ Asa, ọmọ Elkana, tí ó ń gbé nínú àwọn ìlú àwọn ará Netofa.
Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun; and Berekiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who used to live in the villages of the Netophathites.
17 Àwọn olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà: Ṣallumu, Akkubu, Talmoni, Ahimani àti arákùnrin wọn, Ṣalumu olóyè wọn,
The gatekeepers of the Temple: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman and their relatives. Shallum was the chief gatekeeper.
18 ti wà ní ipò ìdúró ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà ọba ní apá ìhà ìlà-oòrùn títí di àkókò yí. Wọ̀nyí ni àwọn olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà tí ó jẹ́ ti ìpàgọ́ àwọn ará Lefi.
They had the responsibility up until now of looking after the King's Gate on the east side. They were the gatekeepers of the camps of the Levites.
19 Ṣallumu ọmọ Kore ọmọ Ebiasafi, ọmọ Kora, àti àwọn olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀. Láti ìdílé rẹ̀ (àwọn ará Korati) ni ó dúró fún ṣíṣọ́ ìloro ẹnu-ọ̀nà àgọ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí baba wọn ti ń dúró fún ṣíṣọ́ àbáwọlé ibùgbé Olúwa.
Shallum was the son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrances to the sanctuary in the same way their fathers had been responsible for guarding the entrance to the tented house of the Lord.
20 Ní ìgbà àkọ́kọ́ Finehasi ọmọ Eleasari jẹ́ olórí fún àwọn olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà, Olúwa sì wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
Previously Phinehas son of Eleazar had been the leader of the gatekeepers. The Lord was with him.
21 Sekariah, ọmọ Meṣelemiah jẹ́ olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà ní àbáwọlé sí àgọ́ ibi ìpàdé.
Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
22 Gbogbo rẹ̀ lápapọ̀, àwọn tí a yàn láti jẹ́ olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà ní àwọn ìloro jẹ́ igba ó lé méjìlá. A ka àwọn wọ̀nyí nípa ìdílé ní ìletò wọn. Àwọn olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà ni a ti yàn sí ipò láti ọ̀dọ̀ Dafidi àti Samuẹli, aríran, nítorí òtítọ́ wọn.
In total there were 212 chosen to be gatekeepers at the entrances. They recorded their genealogies in their home towns. David and Samuel the prophet had selected their forefathers for their faithfulness.
23 Àwọn àti àwọn ọmọ wọn ni ó wà fún ṣíṣọ́ ẹnu-ọ̀nà ilé Olúwa ilé tí a pè ní àgọ́.
They and their descendants were responsible for guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord, also when it was a tent.
24 Àwọn olùtọ́jú ẹnu-ọ̀nà wà ní igun mẹ́rẹ̀ẹ̀rin: ìlà-oòrùn, ìwọ̀-oòrùn àríwá àti gúúsù.
The gatekeepers were placed on four sides: east, west, north, and south.
25 Àwọn arákùnrin wọn ní àwọn ìletò wọn ní láti wá ní àkókò dé àkókò láti pín iṣẹ́ ìsìn wọn fún àkókò ọjọ́ méje.
Their relatives in their towns came every seven days at certain times to help them.
26 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn olórí alábojútó ẹnu-ọ̀nà mẹ́rẹ̀ẹ̀rin tí wọ́n jẹ́ ará Lefi ni a yàn fún àwọn iyàrá àti àwọn àpótí ìṣúra ní ilé Ọlọ́run.
The four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were given the responsibility of looking after the rooms and treasuries in the house of God.
27 Wọ́n á lo gbogbo òru ní dídúró yí ilé Ọlọ́run ká, nítorí wọ́n ní láti ṣọ́ ọ, wọ́n sì ní àṣẹ sí kọ́kọ́rọ́ fún ṣíṣí i ní àràárọ̀.
They spent the night around the house of God because they had to guard it and they had the key to unlock it in the morning.
28 Díẹ̀ wà ní ìdí ohun èlò tí à ń lò fún ìsìn ilé Ọlọ́run; wọn a máa kà á nígbà tí wọ́n gbé e wọlé àti nígbà tí a kó wọn jáde.
Some of the gatekeepers were responsible for the articles that were used in worship services. They counted what was brought in and what was taken out.
29 Àwọn mìíràn ni a yàn láti bojútó ohun èlò àti gbogbo ohun èlò ilé tí a yà sọ́tọ̀ fún Ọlọ́run, àti ìyẹ̀fun àti ọtí èso àjàrà àti òróró náà, tùràrí àti tùràrí olóòórùn dídùn.
Others were given the job of looking after the furniture and equipment used in the sanctuary, as well as the special flour, wine, olive oil, incense, and spices.
30 Ṣùgbọ́n díẹ̀ nínú àwọn àlùfáà ni ó ń bojútó pípò tùràrí olóòórùn dídùn papọ̀.
(However, some of the priests were in charge of mixing the spices.)
31 Ará Lefi tí a sọ ní Mattitiah àkọ́bí ọmọkùnrin Ṣallumu ará Kora ni a yàn, tí ń ṣe alábojútó ohun tí a dín.
Mattithiah, a Levite, who was the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was given the responsibility of baking the bread used in offerings.
32 Àti nínú àwọn arákùnrin wọn, nínú àwọn ọmọ Kohati tó ń ṣe ìtọ́jú àkàrà ìfihàn, láti máa pèsè rẹ̀ ní ọjọọjọ́ ìsinmi.
Other Kohathites were in charge of preparing the bread set out on the table every Sabbath.
33 Àwọn tí wọ́n jẹ́ ọkùnrin, olórí àwọn ìdílé Lefi dúró nínú àgọ́ ilé Olúwa, wọn kò sì ṣe lára iṣẹ́ ìsìn yòókù nítorí wọ́n ń ṣe iṣẹ́ náà lọ́sàn, lóru.
The musicians, heads of Levite families, lived in the rooms in the Temple and were not required to carry out other duties because they were on duty day and night.
34 Gbogbo wọ̀nyí jẹ́ olórí àwọn Lefi, olóyè gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti ṣe kọ lẹ́sẹẹsẹ sínú ìtàn ìdílé láti ọ̀dọ̀ baba ńlá wọn, wọ́n sì ń gbé ní Jerusalẹmu.
These were all heads of Levite families, leaders as recorded in their genealogies, and they lived in Jerusalem.
35 Jeieli baba Gibeoni ń gbé ní Gibeoni. Orúkọ ìyàwó rẹ̀ a máa jẹ́ Maaka,
Jeiel was the father of Gibeon and he lived in Gibeon. His wife's name was Maacah.
36 pẹ̀lú àkọ́bí ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ jẹ́ Abdoni, tí wọ̀nyí sì ń tẹ̀lé Suri, Kiṣi, Baali, Neri, Nadabu.
His firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
37 Gedori, Ahio, Sekariah àti Mikiloti.
Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38 Mikiloti jẹ́ baba Ṣimeamu, àwọn náà ń gbé ní ẹ̀bá ìbátan wọn ní Jerusalẹmu.
Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They also lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.
39 Neri jẹ́ baba Kiṣi, Kiṣi baba a Saulu, àti Saulu baba a Jonatani, àti Malikiṣua, Abinadabu àti Eṣi-Baali.
Ner was the father of Kish, Kish was the father of Saul, and Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.
40 Ọmọ Jonatani: Meribu-Baali, tí ó jẹ́ baba Mika.
The son of Jonathan: Merib-Baal, who was the father of Micah.

Ahaz was the father of Jadah, Jadah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza.
43 Mosa jẹ́ baba Binea; Refaiah jẹ́ ọmọ rẹ̀, Eleasa ọmọ rẹ̀ àti Aseli ọmọ rẹ̀.
Moza was the father of Binea; Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son, and Azel his son.
44 Aseli ní ọmọ mẹ́fà, pẹ̀lú wọ̀nyí ni orúkọ wọn: Asrikamu, Bokeru, Iṣmaeli Ṣeariah, Obadiah àti Hanani, gbogbo wọ̀nyí ni ọmọ Aseli.
Azel had six sons. Their names were: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
