1 Àwọn ọmọ Juda: Peresi, Hesroni, Karmi, Huri àti Ṣobali.
The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 Reaiah ọmọ Ṣobali ni baba Jahati, àti Jahati baba Ahumai àti Lahadi. Àwọn wọ̀nyí ni ẹ̀yà ará Sorati.
Reaiah, son of Shobal, was the father of Jahath. Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites.
3 Àwọn wọ̀nyí ni àwọn ọmọ Etamu: Jesreeli, Iṣima, Idbaṣi, orúkọ arábìnrin wọn sì ni Haseleponi
These were the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. Their sister was called Hazzelelponi.
4 Penueli sì ni baba Gedori, àti Eseri baba Huṣa. Àwọn wọ̀nyí ni ọmọ Huri, àkọ́bí Efrata àti baba Bẹtilẹhẹmu.
Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah. These were the descendants of Hur, Ephrathah's firstborn and father of Bethlehem.
5 Aṣihuri baba Tekoa sì ní aya méjì, Hela àti Naara.
Ashhur was the father of Tekoa and had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6 Naara sì bí Ahussamu, Heferi Temeni àti Haaṣtari. Àwọn wọ̀nyí sì ni àwọn ọmọ Naara.
Naarah was the mother of Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

The sons of Helah: Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan,
8 àti Kosi ẹni tí ó jẹ́ baba Anubu àti Sobeba àti ti àwọn ẹ̀yà Aharheli ọmọ Harumu.
and Koz, who was the father of Anub and Hazzobebah and of the families of Aharhel, son of Harum.
9 Jabesi sì ní ọlá ju àwọn ẹ̀gbọ́n rẹ̀ ọkùnrin lọ. Ìyá rẹ̀ sì sọ ọ́ ní Jabesi wí pé, “Mo bí i nínú ìpọ́njú.”
Jabez was more faithful to God than his brothers. His mother had given him the name Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.”
10 Jabesi sì kígbe sókè sí Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí pé, “Háà, Ìwọ yóò bùkún fún mi, ìwọ yóò sì mú agbègbè mi tóbi! Jẹ́ kí ọwọ́ rẹ kí ó wà pẹ̀lú mi kí o sì pa mi mọ́ kúrò nínú ibi; kí èmi kí ó le ní ìdáǹdè kúrò nínú ìrora.” Ọlọ́run sì gbọ́ ohùn ẹ̀bẹ̀ rẹ̀.
Jabez begged the God of Israel, “Please bless me and expand my borders! Be with me and keep me safe from harm so I won't have pain.” And God gave him what he asked for.
11 Kelubu arákùnrin Ṣuha, sì jẹ́ baba Mehiri, ẹni tí ó jẹ́ baba Eṣtoni.
Kelub, Shuhah's brother, was the father of Mehir, who in turn was the father of Eshton.
12 Eṣtoni sì jẹ́ baba Beti-Rafa, Pasea àti Tehina ti baba ìlú Nahaṣi. Àwọn wọ̀nyí ni ọkùnrin Reka.
Eshton was the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir Nahash. These were the men of Recah.
13 Àwọn ọmọ Kenasi: Otnieli àti Seraiah. Àwọn ọmọ Otnieli: Hatati àti Meonotai.
The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath and Meonothai.
14 Meonotai sì ni baba Ofira. Seraiah sì jẹ́ baba Joabu, baba Geharaṣinu. A pè báyìí nítorí àwọn ènìyàn àwọn oníṣọ̀nà ní ìwọ̀n.
Meonothai was the father of Ophrah. Seraiah was the father of Joab, the father of Ge Harashim, so called because craftsmen lived there.
15 Àwọn ọmọ Kalebu ọmọ Jefunne: Iru, Ela, àti Naamu. Àwọn ọmọ Ela: Kenasi.
The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz.
16 Àwọn ọmọ Jehaleeli: Sifi, àti Sifa, Tiria àti Asareeli.
The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 Àwọn ọmọ Esra: Jeteri, Meredi, Eferi àti Jaloni. Ọ̀kan lára àwọn aya Meredi sì bí Miriamu, Ṣammai àti Iṣba baba Eṣitemoa.
The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. One wife of Mered was the mother of Miriam, Shammai and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 Aya rẹ̀ láti ẹ̀yà Juda sì bí Jaredi baba Gedori, àti Heberi baba Soko àti Jekutieli baba Sanoa. Àwọn wọ̀nyí ni àwọn ọmọ ọmọbìnrin Farao Bitia, ẹni ti Meredi ti fẹ́.
(Another wife who came from Judah was the mother of Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.) These were the sons of Bithiah, Pharaoh's daughter, whom Mered had married.
19 Àwọn ọmọ aya Hodiah arábìnrin Nahamu, baba Keila ará Garimu, àti Eṣitemoa àwọn ará Maakati.
The sons of Hodiah's wife, Nathan's sister: one son was the father of Keilah the Garmite, and another the father of Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
20 Àwọn ọmọ Ṣimoni: Amnoni, Rina, Beni-Hanani àti Tiloni. Àwọn ọmọ Iṣi: Soheti àti Beni-Soheti.
The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi: Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.
21 Àwọn ọmọ Ṣela ọmọ Juda: Eri baba Leka, Lada baba Meraṣa àti àwọn ìdílé ilé àwọn tí ń hun aṣọ oníṣẹ́ ní Beti-Aṣibea.
The sons of Shelah son of Judah: Er, who was the father of Lecah, Laadah, who was the father of Mareshah, the families of the linen workers at Beth Ashbea,
22 Jokimu, ọkùnrin Koseba, àti Joaṣi àti Sarafi, olórí ní Moabu àti Jaṣubi Lehemu. (Àkọsílẹ̀ yìí sì wà láti ìgbà àtijọ́.)
Jokim, the men of Cozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled over Moab and Jashubi Lehem. (These are old records.)

They were potters, inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah, who lived there and worked for the king.

The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul.
25 Ṣallumu sì jẹ́ ọmọ Saulu, Mibsamu ọmọ rẹ̀ Miṣima ọmọ rẹ̀.
Shallum was the son of Shaul, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.
26 Àwọn ọmọ Miṣima: Hamueli ọmọ rẹ̀ Sakkuri ọmọ rẹ̀ àti Ṣimei ọmọ rẹ̀.
The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, and Shimei his son.
27 Ṣimei sì ní ọmọkùnrin mẹ́rìndínlógún àti ọmọbìnrin mẹ́fà, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ẹ̀gbọ́n rẹ̀ ọkùnrin kò ní ọmọ púpọ̀; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn ìdílé wọn kò sì pọ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ènìyàn Juda.
Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children; so their tribe was not as large as that of Judah.

They lived in Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar Shual,

They also lived in Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Token, and Ashan—a total of five towns,

along with all the surrounding villages as far as Baal. These were the places where they lived and they recorded their genealogy.

and Ziza, son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.
38 Àwọn ọkùnrin tí a dárúkọ lókè yìí àwọn ni ìjòyè ìdílé wọn. Àwọn ìdílé sì pọ̀ sí i gidigidi,
These were the names of the leaders of their families whose lineage increased significantly.
39 wọ́n sì lọ sí ojú ọ̀nà Gedori. Lọ títí dé ìlà-oòrùn àfonífojì láti wá koríko fún àwọn agbo ẹran wọn.
They went far as the border of Gedor on the east side of the valley to look for pasture for their flocks.
40 Wọ́n sì rí koríko tútù tí ó dára ilẹ̀ náà gbòòrò ó sì ní àlàáfíà ó sì gbé jẹ́. Àwọn ọmọ Hamu ni ó ti ń gbé ibẹ̀ tẹ́lẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀.
They found good pastureland there, and the area was open, quiet, and peaceful, for those who used to live there were Ham's descendants.
41 Àwọn ọkùnrin tí a kọ orúkọ rẹ̀ sókè, dé ní ọjọ́ Hesekiah ọba Juda. Wọ́n sì kọlu àwọn ará Hamu ní àgọ́ wọn àti pẹ̀lú àwọn ará Mehuni tí a rí níbẹ̀ tí ó sì pa wọ́n run pátápátá títí di òní yìí. Wọ́n sì ń gbé ní ipò wọn, nítorí pé koríko ń bẹ níbẹ̀ fún agbo ẹran wọn.
In the time of Hezekiah, king of Judah, the leaders listed above by name came and attacked these descendants of Ham where they lived, along with the Meunites there and totally destroyed them, as is clear to this very day. Then they settled there, because there was pastureland for their flocks.
42 Ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀ta nínú àwọn ará Simeoni, lábẹ́ ìdarí pẹ̀lú Pelatiah, Neariah, Refaiah àti Usieli, àwọn ọmọ Iṣi, gbógun sí àwọn òkè ìlú ti Seiri.
Some of these Simeonites invaded Mount Seir—five hundred men led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
43 Wọ́n sì pa àwọn ará Amaleki tí ó kù, àwọn tí ó ti sálà, wọ́n sì ti ń gbé ibẹ̀ títí di òní yìí.
They destroyed the rest of the Amalekites who had escaped. They have lived there to this very day.
