< 1 Chronicles 20 >
1 Ní àkókò àkọ́rọ̀ òjò, ni ìgbà tí àwọn ọba lọ sí ogun, Joabu ṣamọ̀nà àwọn ọ̀wọ́ ọmọ-ogun. Ó fi ilẹ̀ àwọn ará Ammoni ṣòfò. Ó lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ Rabba. Ó sì fi ogun dúró tì í. Ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi dúró sí Jerusalẹmu Joabu kọlu Rabba, ó sì fi sílẹ̀ ní ìparun.
And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.
2 Dafidi mú adé kúrò lórí àwọn ọba wọn ìwọ̀n rẹ̀ dàbí i tálẹ́ǹtì wúrà, a sì tò ó jọ pẹ̀lú àwọn òkúta iyebíye. A sì gbé e ka orí Dafidi. Ó kó ọ̀pọ̀ ìkógun láti ìlú ńlá náà.
And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David’s head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.
3 Ó sì kó gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn tí ó wà ní ibẹ̀ jáde, ó sì fi iṣẹ́ lé wọn lọ́wọ́ láti ṣiṣẹ́ pẹ̀lú ayùn àti ìtulẹ̀ onírin àti àáké. Dafidi ṣe eléyìí sí gbogbo àwọn ará ìlú Ammoni. Nígbà náà, Dafidi àti gbogbo àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀ padà sí Jerusalẹmu.
And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
4 Ní ẹ̀yìn èyí ni ogun bẹ́ sílẹ̀ ní Geseri pẹ̀lú àwọn ará Filistini, ní àkókò yìí ni Sibekai ará Huṣati pa Sipai, ọ̀kan lára àwọn ọmọ Refaimu, àti àwọn ará Filistini ni a ṣẹ́gun.
And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.
5 Nínú ogun mìíràn pẹ̀lú àwọn ará Filistini, Elhanani ọmọ Jairi pa Lahmi arákùnrin Goliati ará Gitti, ẹni ti ó ní ọ̀kọ̀ kan tí ó dàbí ọ̀pá ahunṣọ.
And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver’s beam.
6 Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ nínú ogun mìíràn, tí ó wáyé ní Gati, ọkùnrin títóbi kan wà tí ó ní ìka mẹ́fà ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ìka mẹ́fà ní ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ mẹ́rìnlélógún lápapọ̀. Òun pẹ̀lú wá láti Rafa.
And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant.
7 Nígbà tí ó fi Israẹli ṣẹ̀sín, Jonatani ọmọ Ṣimea, arákùnrin Dafidi sì pa á.
But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David’s brother slew him.
8 Wọ̀nyí ni ìran ọmọ Rafa ní Gati, wọ́n sì ṣubú sí ọwọ́ Dafidi àti àwọn ọkùnrin rẹ̀.
These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
