< Acts 8 >

1 Sawuli wukikinina ti bavonda Etieni. Tona lumbu kina batona yamisa ngolo Dibundu diba ku Yelusalemi. Baboso botula kaka bamvuala, bamana sasukusu mu zunga ki Yuda ayi ki Samali.
And Saul was there, giving approval to Stephen’s death. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.
2 Batu baba kinzikanga mambu ma Nzambi bayenda zika Etieni ayi bandila ngolo.
God-fearing men buried Stephen and mourned deeply over him.
3 Vayi Sawuli wuyamisa dibundu, wuba kotanga mu kadika nzo, mu kanga babakala ayi baketo ayi kuba loza mu nloko.
But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.
4 Vayi batu bobo basasukusu bayenda ndambu na ndambu, balonga mambu ma Nzambi.
Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
5 Filipi wuyenda ku divula dimosi di Samali. Wulonga nsamu wu Klisto.
Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them.
6 Nkangu wu batu, mu kithuadi kimosi, batamba bumboti matu mu mambu Filipi kaba kuba kamba bu banwa ayi bammona mu bikumu kaba vanganga.
The crowds gave their undivided attention to Philip’s message and to the signs they saw him perform.
7 Bila ziphevi zimbimbi ziyamikina mu mbembo yingolo bu ziba totuka mu batu bawombo makoka mawombo ayi batu bawombo baba ntiudika babeluka.
With loud shrieks, unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, and many of the paralyzed and lame were healed.
8 Khini yiwombo yiba mu divula dina.
So there was great joy in that city.
9 Muaki tuamina mambu momo, mu divula beni muba mutu wumosi dizina diandi Simoni, wuba sadilanga mazi, ayi basi Samali baba siminanga mu diambu di mavanga mandi; wukibieka mutu wu luvalu.
Prior to that time, a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and astounded the people of Samaria. He claimed to be someone great,
10 Batu boso, tona mu bana balezi ayi bakulutu, banwilukila ayi batuba ti: —Mutu niawu niandi lulendo lu Nzambi, lolo luntedolongo “Lulendo lunneni”.
and all the people, from the least to the greatest, heeded his words and said, “This man is the divine power called the Great Power.”
11 Banwilukila bila tona thama baba siminanga mu diambu di mazi mandi.
They paid close attention to him because he had astounded them for a long time with his sorcery.
12 Vayi bu bawilukila Filipi bu kaba samunina Nsamu Wumboti wutedi Kipfumu ki Nzambi ayi wutedi dizina di Yesu Klisto; babakala ayi baketo babotama.
But when they believed Philip as he preached the gospel of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Mamvandi Simoni wuwilukila; bu kabotama buna wukala ayi Filipi mu zithangu zioso. Bu kamona mambu manneni ayi bikumu binneni biba vangamanga, buna wusimina ngolo.
Even Simon himself believed and was baptized. He followed Philip closely and was astounded by the great signs and miracles he observed.
14 Mu thangu bamvuala bobo baba ku Yelusalemi bu ziwa ti basi Samali batambula mambu ma Nzambi, baba fidisila Piela ayi Yowani.
When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.
15 Bu batula, baba sambidila muingi batambula Pheve Yinlongo,
On their arrival, they prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit.
16 bila buna yikulukidi ko kadi va mutu wumosi; vayi mu dizina di Pfumu Yesu kaka babotimina.
For the Holy Spirit had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
17 Piela ayi Yowani babatetika mioko ayi batambula Pheve Yinlongo.
Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 Vayi Simoni bu kamona ti Pheve yinlongo yivanunu mu thetokolo yi mioko mi bamvuala, buna wuba vana zimbongo;
When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money.
19 bosi wuba kamba: —Bika luphana mamvama lulendo lolo muingi babo ndikuizatetika mioko batambula Pheve Yinlongo.
“Give me this power as well,” he said, “so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
20 Vayi Piela wumvutudila: —Bika wufua ngeyo ayi zimbongo ziaku bu wuyindudi sumba dikaba di Nzambi.
But Peter replied, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!
21 Kadi kuku ayi kadi ndambu wisi ko mu diambu diadi bila ntimaꞌaku wisi wululama ko va meso ma Nzambi.
You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God.
22 Bika wubalula mavanga maku mambimbi, ayi sambila Pfumu muingi enati baka bubela mayindu ma ntimꞌaku malemvokolo.
Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will forgive you for the intent of your heart.
23 Bila ndimmona ti kikhenene ayi masumu bidi yaku.
For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and captive to iniquity.”
24 Buna Simoni wuvutula: —Bika beno veka lusambila Pfumu muingi mambu momo lutubidi mabika kumbuila.
Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me, so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”
25 Buna bamana telimina Yesu Klisto kimbangi ayi longa Mambu ma Pfumu, Piela ayi Yowani bavutuka ku Yelusalemi. Balonga Nsamu wumboti mu mala mawombo ma Samali.
And after Peter and John had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many of the Samaritan villages.
26 Mbasi yi Pfumu yikamba Filipi: —Telama! Yenda mu ndambu yi sude mu nzila yitonina ku Yelusalemi nate ku Ngasa; nzila yikambulu batu.
Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go south to the desert road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”
27 Niandi wutelama ayi wuyenda. Tala muisi Etiopi wumosi wuba lundanga zimbongo ayi kiuka kioso ki ntinu wunketo wu Etiopi; wuyiza ku Yelusalemi mu sambila.
So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official in charge of the entire treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. He had gone to Jerusalem to worship,
28 Bu kaba mvutuka, wuvuanda mu Saleti kiandi. Wuba tanga nkanda wu mbikudi Ezayi.
and on his return was sitting in his chariot reading Isaiah the prophet.
29 Pheve yikamba Filipi: —Fikama ayi bakidila saleti yoyi.
The Spirit said to Philip, “Go over to that chariot and stay by it.”
30 Filipi wuzawula; wunwa wulembo tangi nkanda wu mbikudi Ezayi; buna wunyuvula: —Wulembo sudika kuaku mambu momo wulembo tangi e?
So Philip ran up and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
31 Mutu beni wumvutudila: —Buevi ndenda kumasudikila enati mutu kakadi kutsudikisa mawu e? Bosi wuleba Filipi kakuma mu Saleti ayi wunleba kavuanda va ndambu andi.
“How can I,” he said, “unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 Buku ki mambu kioki kaba tanga kiawu kiaki: Bannata banga dimemi diyenda ku vondo; banga muana dimemi diodi dinkambu samba va ntuala mutu wowo wulembo nkulula mika, vayi kasia zibula munu ko;
The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so He did not open His mouth.
33 mu diambu di kukikulula bamanga kunnungisa. Nani wela yolukila nkunꞌandi e? Bila basukisidi luzingu luandi va ntoto e?
In His humiliation He was deprived of justice. Who can recount His descendants? For His life was removed from the earth.”
34 Buna nlundi wu kiuka ki ntinu wunketo wuyuvula Filipi: —Wundemvukila; wutsudikisa mu diambu di nani mbikudi kayolukila mambu mama e? Mu diambu di niandi veka voti mu diambu di mutu wunkaka e?
“Tell me,” said the eunuch, “who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”
35 Filipi wutona yoluka, wutona kunsamunina mambu ma Yesu, tonina mu nkanda wowo.
Then Philip began with this very Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
36 Bu batatamana diata mu nzila, batula va buindi kinlangu. Buna nlundi wu kiuka ki ntinu wunketo wutuba: —Tala nlangu wawu! A mbi bi kukhakidika mu botama e? [
As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being baptized?”
37 Filipi wumvutudila: —Enati wilukidi mu ntimꞌaku wumvimba buna wulenda kuaku botama! Mutu beni wuvutula: —Ndinwilukila ti Yesu Klisto niandi Muana Nzambi.]
38 Wuvana minsua mu telimisa Saleti. Filipi ayi nlundi wu kiuka ki ntinu wunketo, bawu buadi batibuka mu nlangu; bosi Filipi wumbotika.
And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.
39 Bu batotuka mu nlangu, Pheve yi Pfumu yizimbisa Filipi, ayi nlundi wu kiuka ki ntinu wunketo kasia buela kummona ko. Vayi mutu beni wulandakana nzilꞌandi mu khini yiwombo.
When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, but went on his way rejoicing.
40 Vayi Filipi wuyenda monikila ku Azoti. Bu kaviokila mu tsiwulonga Nsamu Wumboti mu mala moso momo kaviokila nate katula ku Sezali.
But Philip appeared at Azotus and traveled through that region, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he came to Caesarea.
