< Acts 6 >
1 Muaki mu bilumbu bina, thalu yi minlonguki yibuelama, Bayuda bobo baba tubanga kingeleki baniungutina Bayuda bobo baba tubanga Kiebelewo. Bila mu thangu kabula bidia bi lumbu ka lumbu baba babanzilangamafuola mawu mu bufuana.
But in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a murmuring of the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
2 Buna kumi bamvuala buadi zitumisa nkangu wu minlonguki, baba kamba: —Busi fuana ko ti tubika buela longa mambu ma Nzambi muingi tukabulanga bidia!
And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples to them, and said, It doth not seem to us proper, that we should leave the word of God, and provide for tables.
3 Zikhomba, sobulanu tsambudi di batu, bobo badi kimbangi kimboti, badi bawala mu Pheve Yinlongo ayi badi diela muingi tuba vana kisalu kioki.
Therefore, brethren, look out among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint over this business;
4 Vayi beto, tueka yekimina kisalu kisambila ayi kilonga!
but we will give ourselves closely to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
5 Nkangu woso wumona khini mu diambu di mambu momo. Diawu basobudila Etieni, mutu wuba wuwala mu minu ayi wuwala mu Pheve Yinlongo; Filipi, Polokoli, Nikanoli, Timoni, Palimenasi ayi Nikola, muisi Antioshi wukituka Nyuda.
And what was said pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus a proselyte of Antioch,
6 Baba tuala va ntuala bamvuala. Bamvuala bu zisambila, babatetika mioko.
whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
7 Mambu ma Nzambi maluta buela tembakana; thalu yi minlonguki yiluta buelama mu Yelusalemi ayi banganga Nzambi bawombo ziwilukila.
And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem was greatly enlarged; and a great multitude of the priests were obedient to the faith.
8 Etieni wuba wuwala mu nlemvo ayi mu lulendo, wuvangamambu manneni ayi bikumu biwombo va khatitsika batu.
And Stephen, full of grace and power, wrought great wonders and signs among the people.
9 Buna batu bankaka ba nzo lukutukunu, lolo baba tedilanga nzo lukutukunu lu batu bakulu mu buvika va kimosi ayi batu basi Silene, basi Alesandeli ayi basi Silisi ayi basi Azi, batona findana ziphaka ayi Etieni.
But some of those who belonged to the so-called synagogue of the Freedmen, and of the Cyrenaeans and Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and Asia, arose and disputed with Stephen;
10 Vayi basia nunga ko va ntuala diela ayi Pheve yoyi yika yolukila.
and they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.
11 Vana vawu bafuta batu muingi batuba ti: —Beto tuwilu mutu wawu wulembo yoluka mambu mamvuezolo mu diambu di Moyize ayi mu diambu di Nzambi.
Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and God.
12 Bakitumuna khindu muidi batu, muidi bakulutu, muidi minsoniki mi Mina; bayiza kuidi Etieni, bankanga ayi bannata va ntuala lukutukunu lu minyadi.
And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and seized him, and brought him to the council,
13 Batotula bambangi baluvunu, zituba ti: —Mutu wawu kakadi vonga mu yolukanga mambu mambimbi mu diambu di buangu kiaki kinlongo ayi mu diambu di Mina.
and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak words against the holy place, and the Law.
14 Bila tuwilu boso kabedi tuba ti Yesu diodi di muisi Nazaleti, wela tiolomuna buangu kiaki ayi wela viakisa bifu bi tulonga Moyize.
For we have heard him say, This Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place, and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.
15 Vayi meso ma batu boso bobo baba mu lukutukunu lu minyadi masungimina tala Etieni. Bamona zizi kiandi kikituka banga zizi ki mbasi.
And all that sat in the council, looking steadily upon him, saw his face like the face of an angel.
