< Acts 22 >
1 —Zikhomba ayi batata, wanu mambu madi yama ma kulukamba mu kukitabila!
Brethren, and Fathers, hear now my apology to you,
2 Bu bawa wunyoluka mu ki Ebelewo, baboso beka dio sui.
---(and when they heard that he spake to them in the Hebrew dialect, they the more readily kept silence, and he said, )
3 Wutatamana kuba kamba: —Minu ndidi Nyuda, minu ndibutukila ku Talise; divula didi mu zunga ki Silisi. Mu divula diadi di Yelusalemi ndiyundukila; Ngamalieli niandi wundonga mina mi Bakulu beto. Bufula buwombo buba yama mu diambu di Nzambi banga bobo beno luididi buabu.
---I am indeed a Jew, born at Tarsus in Cilicia, but educated in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, accurately instructed in the law of our fathers, being zealous for God, as ye all are this day.
4 Ndiyamisa ayi ndivondisa batu bobo balandakana nzila yayi yi Pfumu. Ndikanga babakala ayi baketo, ndiba kotisa mu nloko.
And I persecuted those of this persuasion even unto death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
5 Pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi ayi lukutukunu lu minyadi balenda kuawu telama kimbangi enati mambu ndintuba madi ma kiedika voti ma luvunu. Bila kuidi bawu ndiyenda baka minkanda mu diambu di vana kuidi bakhomba zi Damasi. Buna ndiyenda ku Damasi mu diambu di kanga batu bobo baba kuna banlandakana nzila yi Pfumu ayi kuba nata mu zisieni ku Yelusalemi muingi batambula thumbudulu.
As the high priest is my witness, and all the elders: from whom I received letters to our brethren, and went to Damascus to bring those also, that were there, bound to Jerusalem, to be punished.
6 Bu ndiba mu nzila ayi buna ndieka fikama ku Damasi, buna midi mieka nduka, ndizimbukila kiezila kimosi kingolo kiba ku diyilu kinzungidila.
And it came to pass that as I was on my journey and drew nigh to Damascus, about mid-day, on a sudden a great light from heaven shone round about me:
7 Nditumbu bua va tsi, ndiwa mbembo yimosi yikhamba: “A Sawuli! A Sawuli, bila mbi wulembo ndiamisinanga e?”
and I fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
8 Buna ndiyuvula: “A Pfumu, ngeyo widi nani e?” Niandi wuphutudila: “Minu Yesu, muisi Nazaleti diodi weti yamisa”.
And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And He said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
9 Batu bobo baba yama bamona kiezila beni vayi basia wa ko mbembo.
And they that were with me saw the light indeed, and were affrighted; but they did not hear the voice of Him that spake to me.
10 Bosi ndiyuvula: “A Pfumu, mbi mfueti vanga buabu e?” Pfumu wukhamba: “Telama, yenda ku Damasi, kuna maba kamba mambu momo fueti vanga.”
And I said, Lord, what shall I do? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go on to Damascus, and there it shall be told thee concerning all things which are appointed for thee to do.
11 Kiezila beni kiphonda meso ayi batu bobo baba yama batsimba mu koko ayi bandata nate ku Damasi.
And as I could not see by reason of the glory of that light, being led by the hand by those that were with me, I came to Damascus.
12 Kuna kuba mutu wumosi dizina diandi Ananiasi, niandi wuba mutu wuba kinzikanga Nzambi boso buididi Mina mi Moyize ayi wuba telumunungu kimbangi kimboti kuidi Bayuda boso baba ku Damasi;
And one Ananias, a devout observer of the law, who had a good character from all the Jews that dwelt there,
13 wuyiza kumbata ayi wukhamba: “Khombꞌama Sawuli, buela moni kuaku!” Muna thangu beni kuandi, meso mama mazibuka ayi ndimmona.
came to me, and stood by me, and said, Brother Saul, look up: and I immediately looked up upon him.
14 Bosi wukhamba: “Nzambi yi bakulu beto niandi wusobula muingi wuzabaluzolo luandi, muingi wumona mutu wusonga ayi wuwa mbembo andi.
And he said, The God of our Fathers hath before appointed thee to know his will, and to see the just One, and to hear a voice from his mouth.
15 Ngeyo fueti ba mbangi andi kuidi batu boso muingi wuba kamba mambu moso momo wumueni ayi momo wuwilu.
For thou shalt be his witness unto all men, of what thou hast seen and heard.
16 Vayi buabu mbi wukidi vingila e? Telama, yenda botama ayi sambila dizina di Pfumu muingi wuvedoso mu masumu maku.”
And now why shouldst thou delay? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling upon the name of the Lord.
17 Bu ndivutuka ku Yelusalemi ayi bundiba sambila mu nzo Nzambi, ndimona tsongolo;
And when I was returned to Jerusalem, and was praying in the temple, I was in a trance.
18 Pfumu wukhamba: “Yenda kuaku! Botuka nsualu mu Yelusalemi bilabatu balendi kikinina ko kimbangi kiaku mu diambu diama.”
And I saw Him saying unto me, Make haste and go quickly out of Jerusalem; for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
19 Minu ndivutula: “A pfumu, bazebi kuawu ti minu ndiba kotisanga batumu nloko ayi minu ndiba betisanga bikoti batu boso bobo baba kuwilukilanga mu zinzo zi zikhutukunu.
And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and scourged in the synagogues them that believed on Thee.
20 Bosi mbangi aku Etieni boso baba kumvonda, buna minu ndiba vana. Minu ndikikinina mambu momo mavangama ayi ndisunga minledi mi batu bobo bamvonda.”
And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also stood by and consented to his death, and kept the clothes of them that slew him.
21 Vayi Pfumu wumvutudila: —Yenda, thama ndieka kufidisa; kuidi makanda ma Bapakanu!
But he said unto me, Go away; for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.---
22 Buna banwa nate katuba diambu diodi. Bayamikina mu mbembo yingolo: —Mutu wu phila yoyi fueni botolo va ntoto. Kasi fuana zinga ko!
And they heard him to this word, and then they exalted their voice, saying, Away with such a fellow from the earth; for it is not fit that he should live.
23 Sumbu bayamikina diaka ngolo, baloza minledi miawu ayi mbungi-mbungi ku yilu.
And as they were bawling out, and throwing off their clothes, and casting up dust into the air,
24 Buna Pfumu masodi wuvana lutumunu mu diambu bakotisa Polo ku khati ka ki masodi ayi bambeta bikoti muingi katuba bila kioki batu baba yamikinina ngolo mu diambu diandi.
the tribune commanded him to be brought into the castle, and ordered him to be put to the question by scourging; that he might know for what reason they so cried out against him.
25 Mu thangu baba kunkanga minsinga, Polo wuyuvula nkulutu masodiwuba va ndambu yika ba: —A buevi, minsua midi mu betisa muisi Loma mu kambu teka samba e?
And as they were binding him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, uncondemned?
26 Komanda ki masodi bu kawa bobo, wuyenda kuidi pfumuꞌandi ayi wunkamba: —A mambu mbi momo wumvanga e? Keti mutu wawu muisi Loma!
And the centurion hearing this, went and told the tribune, saying, Consider what thou art about to do; for this man is a Roman.
27 Pfumu masodi bu kayiza vana vaba Polo, wunyuvula: —Bika wukhamba, bukiedika widi muisi Loma e? Niandi wumvutudila: —Nyinga, bobo kuandi!
Then the tribune came and said to him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? And he said, Yes.
28 Pfumu masodi wubuela tuba: —Zimbongo ziwombo ndifuta muingi minu ndibaka ki muisi Loma. Polo wumvutudila: —Vayi minu, ki muisi Loma kiama kibutukila!
And the tribune replied, I obtained this freedom with a large sum of money. And Paul said, But I was free-born.
29 Buna batu bobo bedi kambeta, banyekula muna thangu beni. Bosi Pfumu masodi wumona boma bu kazaba ti mutu wuka kangisa mu zisieni widi muisi Loma.
Immediately therefore those who were going to put him to the question quitted him: and the tribune also was afraid, when he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
30 Mu lumbu kilanda, Pfumu masodi, wuzola zaba bila kioki Bayudabafundila Polo. Wutuma ti banianguna Polo, wukutikisa zinganga Nzambi ayi batu bankalanga mu lukutukunu lu minyadi. Bosi wubonga Polo ayi wuntedimisa va khatitsikꞌawu.
And on the morrow, desiring to know for certain what he was accused of by the Jews, he loosed him from his bonds, and ordered the chief priests and all their council to attend; and he brought down Paul, and set him before them:
