Luuka 13

And at that time, some came and told him of those Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 uYesu akavamula akavavula, “pe musagha kuuti avagalilaya avuo valyale ni sambi kukila avagalilaya avange voni fyenambe ghavaghile amavivi aghuo?
And Jesus replied, and said to them: Suppose ye, that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans, because this occurred to them?
3 Nambe, nikuvavula neke nave namulata najumue mulibudua vule vule.
No. And I say to you, That all of you also, unless ye repent, will likewise perish.
4 nambe avaanhu vala kijigho nu ntanda ku Siloamu vanoghukaghua na kuvabuda, musagha aveene valyale vanya sambi kukila avaanhu avange ku Yelusalemu?
Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, suppose ye, that they were sinners beyond all the men inhabiting Jerusalem?

No. And I say to you, That except ye resent, ye like them will all of you perish.

And he spoke this similitude: A man had a fig-tree that was planted in his vineyard: and he came, seeking fruits upon it, and found none.
7 akam'bula juno ilolelela umughunda ghula, “lola mu maka ghatatu nisile na kughela kulonda imheeke mumpiki ughu neke nanipatile. udumule ulwakuva ghunangania ilihanga.
And he said to the cultivator: Lo, these three years, I have come seeking fruits on this fig-tree, and I find none. Cut it down: why should it cumber the ground?
8 juno ilolelela umughunda akati, “ughuleke umwaka ughu neke nipile na kukuvikila imbolela.
The cultivator said to him: My Lord, spare it this year also, until I shall work about it, and manure it.
9 nave ghihola imheeke umwaka ghuno ghukwisa ke kanono, neke nave naghuhola nikughudumula.
And if it bear fruits, well; and if not, thou wilt cut it down: why should it live?
10 lino uYesu alyale ivulanisia mu nyumba jimonga ija kufunyila unsiki ghwa Sabati.
And when Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, on the sabbath,
11 lola, pwe alyale umukimama jumonga juno ku maka kijigho nu ntanda alyale ni lipepo ililamafu lwa vuvotevote, umwene alyale mughogholo naalyale iwesia kukwima na kugholoka.
a woman was there who had had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bent over, and could not straighten herself at all.
12 uYesu ati amwaghile an'kemheela akam'bula, “mama uvikilue vwavuke kuhuma mu vuvotevote vwako.”
And Jesus saw her, and called her, and said to her: Woman, thou art released from thy infirmity.
13 akavika amavoko ghake pa kyanya jake, pe um'bili ghwake ghukagholoka ghwope akamughinia uNguluve.
And he put his hand upon her; and immediately she straightened her self up, and glorified God.
14 neke um'baha ghwa nyumba jila ja kufunyila akakalala ulwakuva uYesu alya nsosisie ikighono kya Sabati. pe untavulua akamwamula akalivula ilipugha,”kuli ni fighono, fino luvaghile kuvoma imbombo. mwise kusosia himbe, nakwekuti kikighono kya sabati kyene.
And the chief of the synagogue, being angry that Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered, and said to the multitude: There are six days, on which it is lawful to work; on them come ye, and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15 uMutwa akamwamula akati, “vakitule! nakwale nambe juno kulyumue juno idindulila idogovi nambe ing'ombe jako kuhuma muluvagha na kukuvalongosia kuluta kunyua ikighono kya Sabati?
But Jesus replied, and said to him: Thou hypocrite! Doth not every one of you, on the sabbath, loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him to water?
16 pe lino umhinja ghwa Ibulahamu, juno uSetano an'dindile ku maka kijigho nu ntanda, pe nalukamunoghile umhinja jula kusosivua ikighono kya Sabati.
And this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom the Calumniator hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, ought she not to be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

And when he had said these things, all those that stood up against him were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced in all the miracles that were wrought by his hand.
18 uYesu akati, “uvwimike vwa Nguluve vuhwanine ni kiki, kange niwesia kuling'anisia ni kiki?
And Jesus said: To what is the kingdom of God like? and with what shall I compare it?
19 ji ghwene mbeju jino umuunhu atolile na kuluta kuvyala ku mughunda ghwake, jikalela na kuva mpiki n'kome, ni njuni sa kukyanya sikatenda ifivwasu fyave mu matafi ghake.
It is like a grain of mustard, which a man took and cast into his garden; and it grew, and became a large tree; and a bird of heaven made her nest in its branches.

And he travelled through the villages and cities, teaching and going towards Jerusalem.
23 umuunhu jumonga akaposia akati, “Mutwa, ve vaanhu vadebe vano vilipokua”. pe lino akavavula akati,”
And a person asked him, whether they were few who would have life?
24 mujilolelelaghe kukilila umulyango unsekele, ulwakuva vinga vighela na kukunua kukwingila.
And Jesus said to them: Strive to enter the narrow gate: for I say to you, many will seek to enter, and will not be able.
25 pambele unyanyumba ati imile na pidinda umulyango, pe mulikwima panji na kuhodesia na kuuti, Mutwa, Mutwa, tudindulile umwene ikuvamula na kwiti, 'nanivamanyile umue nambe kuno muhuma'
From the time that the lord of the house shall rise and close the door, then ye will stand without, and knock at the door; and ye will begin to say: Our Lord, our Lord, open to us and he will answer, and say: I tell you, I know you not, whence ye are.

And he will say to you: I know you not, whence ye are: depart from me, ye doers of falsehood.
28 kwe kuliva na kulila kisila vusililo unsiki ghuno mulikuvagha uAbulahamu, Isaka nu Yakovo na vavili voni ku vwimike vwa Nguluve, neke umue jumue mutaghilue kunji.
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye will see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God; and yourselves will be thrust out.

And they will come from the east and from the west, and from the south and from the north, and will recline in the kingdom of God.
30 kagula ili kuuti, ughwa vusililo ghwe ghwa kwanda nu ghwawanda iiva ghwa vusililo”.
And lo, there are last that will be first, and there are first that will be last.
31 unsiki undebe pambele, avafalisayi vamonga valisile na kukum'bula kuuti, “luta na kuvuka apa ulwakuva uHelode ilonda kukubuda”.
On the same day came some of the Pharisees, and said to him: Go, depart hence; for Herod purposeth to kill thee.
32 uYesu akati, “mulute mukakivule ikikanu, kila, lola nikughadagha amapepo na kusosia umusyughu nu lyakilavo, ni kighono kya vutatu nitekelesia uvufumbue vwango.
Jesus said to them: Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures, to-day and to-morrow, and on the third day I shall be consummated.

But I must labor to-day and to-morrow, and on the following day I will go; because it cannot be, that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee; how many times would I have gathered thy children, as a hen that gathereth her young under her wings, and ye would not?
35 lola ujilekile inyumba jako. najune nukivavula, namungawesie kukunyagha nambe mungati, 'afunyilue ujuo juno ikwisa ku litavua lya mutwa”.
Behold, your house is left to you desolate. For I say to you: Ye will not see me, until ye will say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
