< Yakovo 2 >
1 Vanyalukolo Vango ulwakuva mkumwitika uMutwa ghwitu Yesu kilisite, unyavuvaha vwooni, muvaghanaghe avanhu coming namungasalulaghe.
My brothers, stop holding the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Glory, with partiality!
2 Tuiti ndavule mulukong'ano lwinu ingile umunhu umhofu afwalile ni pete sa sahabu, Kange ingile umunhu unkotofu afwalile amenda ghano ghasakile,
For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothes, should enter your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy rags should also enter,
3 pe muntengelele vunofu juno afwalilile muti, “Uve ghukale apa pavunofu”neke mumbule unkotofu jula multi, “uve iima apa,” nambe ghukale pasipasi apa pamaghulu ghango.
and you pay special attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit in this special seat,” but to the poor one you say, “You stand there,” or “Sit here at my footstool,”
4 Asi, uluo naluvonia kuuti munsalula avanhu, navu vulamusi vwuinu vulongosivua na masaghe ghiinu mavivi?
have you not been separated among yourselves and become judges with malignant thoughts?
5 Vanyalukolo vango vaghanike, mumlikisie, avasaluile avakotofu ava muiisi, vave vamofu milwitiko na kuva vahasi vava vutwa vuno alyavalaghile vaano vamughanile?
Listen, my beloved brothers. Has not God chosen the poor of the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He has promised to those loving Him?
6 Nike umuue mukuvalenapula avakotofu! Asi, avamofu navevano vikuvapumusia umue name pikuvatwala pavuhighi?
But you dishonored the poor one. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into courts?
7 Asi, avamofu navevano vikulijova fiivi ilitavua ilinofu ilyajuno umue mukemelelua?
Do they not blaspheme the noble name that was called upon you?
8 Kuuluo, nave muvingilila ululaghilo lwa ntwa ndavule lilembilue mumalembe amimikekuuti, “Muvomba vunono.
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
9 Looli nave msalula avanhu vamo avakuvaghana muvomba inyivi, muhighue ulwakuva mulivahosi.
but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.
10 Nave umunhu ivingilila sooni, niike idenya ululaghilo lumo lwene, ujuo iiva adenyile indaaghilo sooni.
For whoever will keep the whole law, yet stumble in one point, has become guilty of all.
11 Uwakuva uNguluve juno aviikile uulaghilo luno lwiti, “Ulakukilagha,” kange wejuno alyajovile, “Nungabudaghe.” nave nuvwafuke, Nave ghubuda, ghuuvaghuuva udenyile indaghilo.
Because He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
12 Liino mujovaghe na kuvingililandavule vavo valipipi pihighua nu luhighilo luno lukutupeela kuva vaavuke.
Speak and act as being those who are about to be judged by a law of liberty
13 Ulwakuva uvuhighi vukwisa kisila lusungu kuvano navaale nulusungu. urusungu luhumila pavuhighi.
(the judgment will be without mercy to the one not showing mercy). That law exalts mercy over judgment.
14 Kuli vunono Viki, Vanyalukolo vango, nave umuunhu iiti ali nulwitwiko neke naihufia mu maghendele ghaake, ulwitiko lwake luli luvumbulilo luki?
What is the advantage, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it?
15 Asi ulwitiko ndavule uluo ndeponu lukumpoka? Ndavule unyalukolo wakighosi nave wakidala mughaji ghwa menda nambe kyakulia kya jatu,
If a brother or sister is actually naked, and is destitute of the daily food,
16 pe jumonga mulyumue akavavuule atii, “Lutagha nulutengano, mwotaghe umwoto na kulia vunofu,”niiki namukukuvatanga fino baghilue mu m'bili, uluo luvumbulila kiki?
and someone among you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you (pl) do not give them the things needed for the body, what is the benefit?
17 Fye lulivuo, ulwitiko lwene, nave naruhufia amaghende amanofu, lufwile.
Thus also that faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being by itself.
18 Lino umuunhu jumonga ndepoonu iiti, “Ulinulwitiko, najune nilinili namaghendele amanofu.” Unihufie ulwitiko lwako ulusila maghendele, najune nikukuhufia ulwitiko lwango ulunyamaghendele ghango amanofu.
(But someone will say: “You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith by your works and I, by my works will show you my faith [what he believes].”
19 Vitike kuuti kwale uNguluve jumbo; uli nuvulweli. Nike amapepo ghikwitika vule vule kuno ghitetema nuludwesi.
You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder!)
20 Asi ghulonda pikagula, uve ghwe munhu ulinjasu, ndavule ulwitiko uluo kisila maghendelelo ghano ghaghanilue?
But you need to know, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is dead!
21 Asi nawe nkuulu ghwitu u Abrahamu alyambalile ihaki kumaghendele ghano alyantavuile unswambe u Isaka pakitekelelo?
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
22 Lino mulolile ulwitiko ulwaa Abraham vule luvombike mumaghendele ghaake, muuluo ulwitiko lwake lukakwilana vwimila amaghendele ghake.
You can see that faith was acting together with his works, and the faith was made complete by the works.
23 Uluo uluo lukakwilanisia amalembe amimike Ghana ghiiti, “U Abraham alyamwimike u Nguluve, ulwitiko lweluno lukampelela uNguluve am'balile kuuti mugholofu pa Mason ghake, muuluo uNguluve akantambula uAbrahamu kuuti mumanyaani ghwaake.
And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “So Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called ‘friend of God’.
24 Lino mulolaghe mulolaghe kuuti umunhu ivalilua kuuva mugholofu vwimila amaghendele ghaake amanofu, nakwekuti vwimila ulwitiko lwene.
You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Fyelulyale naju Lahabu umughenda mwalu, alyavalilue kuuva mugholofu vwimila amaghendele ghaake amanofu, pano alyavuupiile avanhu vano valyasung'ilue, akavasoona vakile isila ijinge?
Similarly, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by a different way?
26 Lino ulwitiko kisila maghendele amanofu, lufwileluuva ndavule umfimba unsila vwuumi.
For just as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
