Xê-pha-ni-a 2

1 Hỡi dân chẳng biết xấu hổ! hãy nhóm hiệp lại, phải, hãy nhóm hiệp lại,

Come together, yes, gather together, you worthless nation—

2 trước khi mạng lịnh chưa ra, ngày giờ chưa qua như trấu, trước khi sự nóng giận của Đức Giê-hô-va chưa đến trên các ngươi, trước khi ngày thạnh nộ của Đức Giê-hô-va chưa đến trên các ngươi.

before the decree is issued, before you wither and die like a flower, before the burning anger of the Lord falls on you, before the day of the Lord's anger comes on you.

3 Hỡi các ngươi là mọi kẻ nhu mì của đất, làm theo mạng lịnh của Chúa, hãy tìm kiếm Đức Giê-hô-va, tìm kiếm sự công bình, tìm kiếm sự nhu mì, hoặc giả các ngươi sẽ được giấu kín trong ngày thạnh nộ của Đức Giê-hô-va.

Look to the Lord, all you people of the land who are humble and who follow his commands. Look to do what is right; look to live in humility. Perhaps you will be protected on the day of the Lord's anger.

4 Thật vậy, Ga-xa sẽ bỏ hoang, Aùch-ca-lôn sẽ hoang vu; người ta sẽ đuổi dân cư Aùch-đốt đang lúc giữa trưa, và Eùc-rôn sẽ bị nhổ đi.

Gaza will be abandoned, Ashkelon will become desolate, Ashdod will be emptied by noon, Ekron will be ripped up.

5 Khốn thay cho dân cư ở miền biển, tức là dân tộc Cơ-rết! Hỡi Ca-na-an là đất của người Phi-li-tin, lời của Đức Giê-hô-va cũng nghịch cùng các ngươi; ta sẽ hủy diệt ngươi cho đến không còn dân cư nữa.

What disaster is coming to you Philistines, you sea-people who live along the coast and in the land of Canaan! The Lord has passed judgment on you. I will destroy you—there will be no survivors.

6 Miền biển sẽ trở nên đồng cỏ, với những lều của kẻ chăn và chuồng của bầy chiên.

Your seacoast will become pastures, with meadows for shepherds and sheep pens for flocks.

7 Miền ấy sẽ thuộc về phần sót lại của nhà Giu-đa; chúng nó sẽ chăn trong các nơi đó, ban tối sẽ nghỉ trong các nhà của Aùch-ca-lôn; vì Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời chúng nó sẽ thăm viếng chúng nó, và đem phu tù chúng nó trở về.

It will belong to those who remain of the people of Judah. They will graze their flocks there, and the shepherds will sleep in the abandoned houses of Ashkelon. For the Lord their God will be with them and make them prosperous again.

8 Ta đã nghe lời Mô-áp chế báng, lời con cái Am-môn sỉ nhục, chúng nó xỉ vả dân ta, khoe mình nghịch cùng bờ cõi nó.

I have heard the mocking taunts of the Moabites and the scornful derision of the Ammonites who have insulted my people and made threats against their territory.

9 Vậy nên, Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, tức là Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, phán rằng: Thật như ta hằng sống, Mô-áp chắc sẽ giống như Sô-đôm và con cái Am-môn sẽ giống như Gô-mô-rơ, thành ra một nơi đầy gai gốc, một hầm muối, một chỗ hoang vu đời đời; những kẻ sống sót của dân ta sẽ cướp bóc chúng nó, phần sót lại của dân ta sẽ được chúng nó làm sản nghiệp.

Consequently, as I live, declares the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, the Moabites will become like Sodom, and the Ammonites like Gomorrah. Their land will become a place of weeds and salt pits and ruins forever. Those who remain of my people will plunder them and occupy their land.

10 Điều đó xảy đến cho chúng nó vì chúng nó kiêu ngạo, xỉ vả và khoe mình nghịch cùng dân của Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân.

This is what they will receive for their pride because they mocked and threatened the people of the Lord Almighty.

11 Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ tỏ ra là đáng sợ cho chúng nó; vì Ngài sẽ làm cho các thần trên đất chịu đói; và người ta ai nấy sẽ từ nơi mình thờ lạy Ngài, dầu hết thảy các cù lao các nước cũng vậy.

The Lord will make them terribly afraid as he starves to death all the gods of the land. Every nation will worship the Lord wherever they are—all around the world.

12 Hỡi dân cư Ê-thi-ô-bi, các ngươi cũng sẽ bị đâm bởi gươm ta.

You Ethiopians will be killed by the sword.

13 Đoạn, Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ giang tay về phía bắc, sẽ hủy diệt A-si-ri, làm cho Ni-ni-ve hoang vu, thành ra một chỗ khô khan như đồng vắng.

The Lord will strike the Assyrians in the north and destroy them. He will make Nineveh desolate, a dry wasteland like the desert.

14 Những bầy thú vật sẽ nằm ở giữa nó; hết thảy các loài thú khác, cả đến chim bò nông và con nhím cũng ở trên những đầu trụ nó. Tiếng chim kêu nghe nơi cửa sổ, sự hoang vu ở nơi ngạch cửa, và những mái gỗ bá hương đã bị dỡ đi.

Herds will lie down in the middle of the city. It will become the home for every kind of wild animal. Eagle owls and screech owls will roost on its columns. Their calls will echo through the windows. Rubble will block the doors, and the cedar woodwork will be exposed.

15 Kìa, thành vui vẻ nầy đã ở yên không lo lắng và nói trong lòng mình rằng: Ta đây, ngoài ta không còn ai hết! Nó đã trở nên hoang vu, làm chỗ nằm cho loài thú vật là dường nào! Phàm kẻ đi qua sẽ khoa tay mà nhạo cười!

This is what will happen to this triumphant city that thought it was so secure. “Look at me!” it said proudly to itself. “There is no city as great as me!” But it has become a desolate place—just a home for wild animals. Everyone who passes by will point their finger and laugh in derision.
