Thánh Thi 53

1 Kẻ ngu dại nói trong lòng rằng: Chẳng có Đức Chúa Trời. Chúng nó đều bại hoại, phạm tội ác gớm ghiếc; Chẳng có ai làm điều lành.

To the Chief Musician. On Mahalath. A Psalm of Instruction, of David. The impious hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have acted corruptly, They have wrought abominable perversity, There is none that doeth good: —

2 Đức Chúa Trời từ trên trời ngó xuống con loài người, Đặng xem thử có ai thông sáng, Tìm kiếm Đức Chúa Trời chăng.

God, out of the heavens, looked down upon the sons of men, —To see whether there was one that showed wisdom, Enquiring after God.

3 Chúng nó thay thảy đều lui lại, cùng nhau trở nên ô uế; Chẳng có ai làm điều lành, Dầu một người cũng không.

They all, have turned back, together have they become tainted, —There is none that doeth good, Not so much as, one!

4 Các kẻ làm ác há chẳng hiểu biết sao? Chúng nó ăn nuốt dân ta khác nào ăn bánh, Và cũng chẳng hề khẩn cầu Đức Chúa Trời.

Are the workers of iniquity, without knowledge? Devouring my people, [as] they devour food? Upon God, have they not called.

5 Nơi chẳng có sự kinh khiếp, Chúng nó bị cơn kinh khiếp áp bắt; Vì Đức Chúa Trời rải rắc cốt hài của kẻ đóng đối nghịch ngươi. Ngươi đã làm cho chúng nó hổ thẹn, vì Đức Chúa Trời từ bỏ chúng nó.

There have they been in great dread where no dread was, Because, God, hath scattered the bones of thy besieger, —Thou hast put [him] to shame, Because, God, had, rejected, them.

6 Oâi! chớ chi từ Si-ôn sự cứu rỗi của Y-sơ-ra-ên đã đến! Khi Đức Chúa Trời đem về các phu tù của dân sự Ngài, Thì Gia-cốp sẽ mừng rỡ và Y-sơ-ra-ên vui vẻ.

Oh that, out of Zion, were granted the salvations of Israel! When God bringeth back the captives of his people, Jacob, shall exult, Israel, shall be glad.
