1 Hãy ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va, cầu khẩn danh của Ngài; Khá truyền ra giữa các dân những công việc Ngài!
Alleluia. Confess to the Lord, and invoke his name. Announce his works among the nations.
2 Hãy hát, hãy hát cho Ngài những bài ca! Khá nói về các việc lạ lùng của Ngài.
Sing to him, and sing psalms to him. Describe all his wonders.
3 Hãy khoe mình về danh thánh Ngài; Nguyện lòng kẻ nào tìm cầu Đức Giê-hô-va được khoái lạc!
Be praised in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
4 Hãy cầu Đức Giê-hô-va và quyền phép Ngài, Hãy tìm kiếm mặt Ngài luôn luôn.
Seek the Lord, and be confirmed. Seek his face always.
5 Hỡi dòng dõi Aùp-ra-ham, là kẻ tôi tớ Ngài, Hỡi con cháu Gia-cốp, là kẻ Ngài chọn,
Remember his miracles, which he has done, his portents and the judgments of his mouth:
6 Hãy nhớ lại những việc lạ lùng Ngài đã làm, Các dấu k” và đoán ngữ mà miệng Ngài đã phán.
you offspring of Abraham his servant, you sons of Jacob his elect.
7 Ngài là Giê-hô-va, Đức Chúa Trời chúng tôi; Sự đoán xét Ngài ở khắp trái đất.
He is the Lord our God. His judgments are throughout the entire earth.
8 Ngài nhớ đến sự giao ước Ngài luôn luôn, Hồi tưởng lời phán dặn Ngài cho đến ngàn đời,
He has remembered his covenant for all ages: the word that he entrusted to a thousand generations,
9 Tức là giao ước Ngài đã lập với Aùp-ra-ham, Đã thề cùng Y-sác,
which he assigned to Abraham, and his oath to Isaac.
10 Định cho Gia-cốp làm luật lệ, Và lập cho Y-sơ-ra-ên làm giao ước đời đời,
And he stationed the same for Jacob with a precept, and for Israel with an eternal testament,
11 Mà rằng: Ta sẽ ban cho ngươi xứ Ca-na-an, Là phần sản nghiệp các ngươi;
saying: To you, I will give the land of Canaan, the allotment of your inheritance.
12 Lúc ấy họ chỉ là một số ít người, Không đông đảo và làm khách lạ trong xứ,
Though they may have been but a small number, very few and foreigners there,
13 Đi từ dân nầy đến dân kia, Từ nước nầy qua nước khác.
and though they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people,
14 Ngài không cho ai hà hiếp họ; Ngài trách các vua vì cớ họ,
he allowed no man to harm them, and he reproved kings on their behalf.
15 Mà rằng: Đừng đụng đến kẻ chịu xức dầu ta, Chớ làm hại các đấng tiên tri ta.
Do not be willing to touch my Christ, and do not be willing to malign my prophets.
16 Ngài khiến cơn đói kém giáng trong xứ, Và cất hết cả lương thực.
And he called a famine upon the land, and he crushed every foundation of the bread.
17 Ngài sai một người đi trước Y-sơ-ra-ên, Là Giô-sép bị bán làm tôi mọi.
He sent a man before them: Joseph, who had been sold as a slave.
18 Người ta cột chân người vào cùm, Làm cho người bị còng xiềng,
They humbled his feet in shackles; the iron pierced his soul,
19 Cho đến ngày điều người đã nói được ứng nghiệm: Lời của Đức Giê-hô-va rèn thử người.
until his word arrived. The eloquence of the Lord inflamed him.
20 Vua sai tha Giô-sép; Đấng cai trị các dân giải-tha người.
The king sent and released him; he was the ruler of the people, and he dismissed him.
21 Vua lập người làm quản gia, Làm quan cai trị hết thảy tài sản mình,
He established him as master of his house and ruler of all his possessions,
22 Đặng mặc ý người trói buộc quần thần, Và lấy sự khôn ngoan dạy dỗ các trưởng lão.
so that he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his elders prudence.
23 Bấy giờ Y-sơ-ra-ên cũng vào Ê-díp-tô; Gia-cốp ngụ tại trong xứ Cham.
And Israel entered into Egypt, and Jacob became a sojourner in the land of Ham.
24 Đức Giê-hô-va làm cho dân sự Ngài thêm nhiều, Khiến họ mạnh mẽ hơn kẻ hà hiếp họ.
And he helped his people greatly, and he strengthened them over their enemies.
25 Đoạn Ngài đổi lòng người Ê-díp-tô đặng chúng nó ghét dân sự Ngài, Lập mưu hại các tôi tớ Ngài.
He turned their heart to hate his people, and to deal deceitfully with his servants.
26 Ngài sai Môi-se tôi tớ Ngài, Và A-rôn mà Ngài đã chọn.
He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, the one whom he chose.
27 Trong xứ Cham, tại giữa Ê-díp-tô, Hai người làm các dấu k” và phép lạ của Ngài.
He placed with them signs of his word, and portents in the land of Ham.
28 Ngài giáng xuống sự tối tăm và làm ra mờ mịt; Còn họ không bội nghịch lời của Ngài.
He sent darkness and made it conceal, and he did not afflict them with his speech.
29 Ngài đổi nước chúng nó ra máu, Và giết chết cá của chúng nó.
He turned their waters into blood, and he slaughtered their fish.
30 Đất chúng nó sanh ếch nhiều lúc nhúc, Cho đến trong phòng cung thất vua cũng có.
Their land brought forth frogs, even in the inner chambers of their kings.
31 Ngài phán, bèn có ruồi mòng bay đến, Và muỗi trong các bờ cõi chúng nó.
He spoke, and there came forth common flies and gnats, in every region.
32 Thay vì mưa, Ngài giáng mưa đá, Và lửa ngọn trong cả xứ.
He gave them a shower of hail and a burning fire, in the same land.
33 Ngài cũng hại vườn nho và cây vả, Bẻ gãy cây cối tại bờ cõi chúng nó.
And he struck their vineyards and their fig trees, and he crushed the trees of their region.
34 Ngài phán, bèn có châu chấu, Và cào cào bay đến vô số,
He spoke, and the locust came forth, and the caterpillar, of which there was no number.
35 Cắn-sả hết thảy cây cỏ trong xứ, Và phá hại bông trái của đất chúng nó.
And it devoured all the grass in their land, and it consumed all the fruit of their land.
36 Ngài cũng đánh giết hết thảy con đầu lòng trong xứ, Tức là cả cường-tráng sanh đầu của chúng nó.
And he struck all the first-born in their land, the first-fruits of all their labor.
37 Đoạn Ngài dẫn Y-sơ-ra-ên ra có cầm bạc và vàng; Chẳng một ai yếu mỏn trong các chi phái của Ngài.
And he led them out with silver and gold, and there was not an infirm one among their tribes.
38 Ê-díp-tô vui vẻ khi dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đi ra; Vì cơn kinh khủng bởi Y-sơ-ra-ên đã giáng trên chúng nó.
Egypt was joyful at their departure, for the fear of them lay heavy upon them.
39 Ngài bủa mây ra để che chở, Và ban đêm có lửa soi sáng.
He spread a cloud for their protection, and a fire, to give them light through the night.
40 Chúng nó cầu xin, Ngài bèn khiến những con cút đến, Và lấy bánh trời mà cho chúng nó ăn no nê.
They petitioned, and the quail came; and he satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 Ngài khai hòn đá, nước bèn phun ra, Chảy ngang qua nơi khô khác nào cái sông.
He ruptured the rock and the waters flowed: rivers gushed in the dry land.
42 Vì Ngài nhớ lại lời thánh Ngài, Và hồi tưởng Aùp-ra-ham, là kẻ tôi tớ Ngài.
For he had called to mind his holy word, which he kept near to his servant Abraham.
43 Ngài dẫn dân Ngài ra cách hớn hở, Dắt kẻ Ngài chọn ra với bài hát thắng trận.
And he led forth his people in exultation, and his elect in rejoicing.
44 Ngài ban cho họ đất của nhiều nước, Họ nhận được công lao của các dân;
And he gave them the regions of the Gentiles, and they possessed the labors of the peoples,
45 Hầu cho họ gìn giữ các luật lệ Ngài, Và vâng theo những luật pháp Ngài. Ha-lê-lu-gia!
so that they might observe his justifications, and inquire about his law.
