Châm Ngôn 15
1 Lời đáp êm nhẹ làm nguôi cơn giận; Còn lời xẳng xớm trêu thạnh nộ thêm.
A soft answer turneth away fury; but a mortifying word stirreth up anger.
2 Lưỡi người khôn ngoan truyền ra sự tri thức cách phải; Nhưng miệng kẻ ngu muội chỉ buông điều điên cuồng.
The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge acceptable; but the mouth of fools sputtereth out folly.
3 Con mắt Đức Giê-hô-va ở khắp mọi nơi, Xem xét kẻ gian ác và người lương thiện.
In every place are the eyes of the Lord, looking on the bad and the good.
4 Lưỡi hiền lành giống như một cây sự sống; Song lưỡi gian tà làm cho hư nát tâm thần.
A healing [word] of the tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a breach to the spirit.
5 Kẻ ngu dại khinh sự khuyên dạy của cha mình; Còn ai giữ theo lời quở trách trở nên khôn khéo.
A fool contemneth the correction of his father; but he that observeth admonition will become prudent.
6 Trong nhà người công bình có nhiều vật quí; Song trong huê lợi kẻ gian ác có điều rối loạn.
In the house of the righteous there is much treasure; but in the income of the wicked is trouble.
7 Môi người khôn ngoan rải sự tri thức ra; Nhưng lòng kẻ ngu muội chẳng làm như vậy.
The lips of the wise scatter knowledge; but the heart of fools is not reliable.
8 Của tế lễ kẻ gian ác lấy làm gớm ghiếc cho Đức Giê-hô-va; Song lời cầu nguyện của người ngay thẳng được đẹp lòng Ngài.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination of the Lord: but, the prayer of the upright [obtaineth] his favor.
9 Đường lối kẻ ác lấy làm gớm ghiếc cho Đức Giê-hô-va; Nhưng Ngài thương mến người nào theo sự công bình.
An abomination of the Lord is the way of the wicked; but him that pursueth righteousness will he love.
10 Sự hình phạt nặng nề dành cho kẻ bỏ chánh lộ; Và kẻ ghét lời quở trách sẽ chết mất.
An evil correction is [destined] for him that forsaketh the [right] path; he that hateth admonition will die.
11 Aâm phủ và chốn trầm luân còn ở trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va thay, Phương chi lòng của con cái loài người! (Sheol h7585)
The nether world and corruption are open before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol h7585)
12 Kẻ nhạo báng không ưa người ta quở trách mình; Hắn không muốn đến cùng người khôn ngoan.
A scorner loveth not that one should admonish him: unto the wise doth he not go.
13 Lòng khoái lạc làm cho mặt mày vui vẻ; Nhưng tại lòng buồn bã trí bèn bị nao sờn.
A merry heart cheereth up the countenance; but when the heart feeleth pain the spirit is depressed.
14 Lòng người thông sáng tìm kiếm sự tri thức; Còn lỗ miệng kẻ ngu muội nuôi lấy mình bằng sự điên cuồng.
The heart of the man of understanding seeketh knowledge; but the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.
15 Các ngày kẻ bị hoạn nạn đều là gian hiểm; Song lòng vui mừng dự yến tiệc luôn luôn.
All the days of the afflicted are evil; but he that is of a cheerful heart hath a continual feast.
16 Thà có ít của mà kính sợ Đức Giê-hô-va, Còn hơn là tài sản nhiều mà bối rối cặp theo.
Better is little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure and confusion therewith.
17 Thà một món rau mà thương yêu nhau, Còn hơn ăn bò mập béo với sự ganh ghét cặp theo.
Better is an allowance of herbs when love is there, than a stall-fed ox and hatred therewith.
18 Người hay giận gây điều đánh lộn; Nhưng người chậm nóng giận làm nguôi cơn tranh cãi.
A man of fury stirreth up strife; but he that is slow to anger assuageth contention.
19 Đường kẻ biếng nhác như một hàng rào gai; Còn nẻo người ngay thẳng được ban bằng.
The way of the slothful man is like a hedge of thorns; but the path of the upright is a levelled [road].
20 Con khôn ngoan làm vui vẻ cha nó; Còn đứa ngu muội khinh bỉ mẹ mình.
A wise son causeth his father to rejoice; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 Kẻ thiếu trí hiểu lấy sự điên dại làm vui; Song người khôn sáng sửa đường mình ngay thẳng rồi đi.
Folly is joy to him that is void of sense; but a man of understanding walketh straight forward.
22 Đâu không có nghị luận, đó mưu định phải phế; Nhưng nhờ có nhiều mưu sĩ, mưu định bèn được thành.
Plans are frustrated without consultation; but through a multitude of counsellors canst thou maintain thyself.
23 Miệng hay đáp giỏi khiến người vui vẻ; Và lời nói phải thì lấy làm tốt biết bao!
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; and a word [spoken] at the proper time, how good is it!
24 Con đường sự sống của người khôn ngoan dẫn lên trên, Để tránh khỏi âm phủ ở dưới thấp. (Sheol h7585)
The path of life [leadeth] upward for the intelligent, in order that he may avoid the nether world beneath. (Sheol h7585)
25 Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ đánh đổ nhà kẻ kiêu ngạo; Nhưng Ngài làm vững chắc các mộc giới của kẻ góa bụa.
The Lord, will tear down the house of the proud; but he will set up firmly the boundary [-stone] of the widow.
26 Các mưu ác lấy làm gớm ghiếc cho Đức Giê-hô-va; Song lời thanh sạch đẹp lòng Ngài.
An abomination of the Lord are the thoughts of the bad man; but pleasant speeches are pure [before him].
27 Người tham lợi làm rối loạn nhà mình; Còn ai ghét của hối lộ sẽ được sống.
He that is greedy after gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts will live.
28 Lòng người công bình suy nghĩ lời phải đáp; Nhưng miệng kẻ ác buông ra điều dữ.
The heart of the righteous reflecteth to answer; but the mouth of the wicked sputtereth out evil things.
29 Đức Giê-hô-va xa cách kẻ ác; Nhưng Ngài nghe lời cầu nguyện của người công bình.
The Lord is far from the wicked; but the prayer of the righteous doth he hear.
30 Sự sáng con mắt khiến lòng vui vẻ; Và một tin lành làm cho xương cốt được béo tốt.
[What is pleasant to] the light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: a good report giveth marrow to the bones.
31 Kẻ nào nghe lời quở trách của sự sống Sẽ được ở giữa các người khôn ngoan.
The ear that heareth the admonition of life will ever abide in the midst of the wise.
32 Ai từ chối sự khuyên dạy khinh bỉ linh hồn mình. Nhưng ai nghe lời quở trách được sự thông sáng.
He that rejecteth correction despiseth his own soul; but he that heareth admonition acquireth intelligence.
33 Sự kính sợ Đức Giê-hô-va dạy dỗ điều khôn ngoan; Và sự khiêm nhượng đi trước sự tôn trọng.
The fear of the Lord is the correction for wisdom; and before honor there must come humility.
