1 Vả, khi loài người khởi thêm nhiều trên mặt đất, và khi loài người đã sanh được con gái rồi,
And whanne men bigunnen to be multiplied on erthe, and hadden gendrid douytris,
2 các con trai của Đức Chúa Trời thấy con gái loài người tốt đẹp, bèn cưới người nào vừa lòng mình mà làm vợ.
the sones of God seiyen the douytris of men that thei weren faire, and token wyues to hem of alle whiche thei hadden chose.
3 Đức Giê-hô-va phán rằng: Thần ta sẽ chẳng hằng ở trong loài người luôn; trong điều lầm lạc, loài người chỉ là xác thịt; đời người sẽ là một trăm hai mươi năm mà thôi.
And God seide, My spirit schal not dwelle in man with outen ende, for he is fleisch; and the daies of hym schulen be an hundrid and twenti yeer.
4 Đời đó và đời sau, có người cao lớn trên mặt đất, vì con trai Đức Chúa Trời ăn ở cùng con gái loài người mà sanh con cái; ấy những người mạnh dạn ngày xưa là tay anh hùng có danh.

5 Đức Giê-hô-va thấy sự hung ác của loài người trên mặt đất rất nhiều, và các ý tưởng của lòng họ chỉ là xấu luôn;
Sotheli God seiy that myche malice of men was in erthe, and that al the thouyt of herte was ententif to yuel in al tyme,
6 thì tự trách đã dựng nên loài người trên mặt đất, và buồn rầu trong lòng.
and repentide him that he hadde maad man in erthe; and God was war bifore ayens tyme to comyng, and was touchid with sorewe of herte with ynne;
7 Đức Giê-hô-va phán rằng: Ta sẽ hủy diệt khỏi mặt đất loài người mà ta đã dựng nên, từ loài người cho đến loài súc vật, loài côn trùng, loài chim trời; vì ta tự trách đã dựng nên các loài đó.
and seide, Y schal do awei man, whom Y made of nouyt, fro the face of the erthe, fro man til to lyuynge thingis, fro crepynge beeste til to the briddis of heuene; for it repentith me that Y made hem.
8 Nhưng Nô-ê được ơn trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va.
Forsothe Noe foond grace bifore the Lord.
9 Nầy là dòng dõi của Nô-ê. Nô-ê trong đời mình là một người công bình và trọn vẹn, đồng đi cùng Đức Chúa Trời.
These ben the generaciouns of Noe. Noe was a iust man and perfit in hise generaciouns; Noe yede with God,
10 Nô-ê sanh ba con trai là Sem, Cham và Gia-phết.
and gendride thre sones, Sem, Cam, and Jafeth.
11 Thế gian bấy giờ đều bại hoại trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời và đầy dẫy sự hung ác.
Forsothe the erthe was corrupt bifore God, and was fillid with wickidnes.
12 Nầy, Đức Chúa Trời nhìn xem thế gian, thấy điều bại hoại, vì hết thảy xác thịt làm cho đường mình trên đất phải bại hoại.
And whanne God seiy, that the erthe was corrupt, for ech fleisch ether man hadde corrupt his weie on erthe,
13 Đức Chúa Trời bèn phán cùng Nô-ê rằng: Kỳ cuối cùng của mọi xác thịt đã đưa đến trước mặt ta; vì cớ loài người mà đất phải đầy dẫy điều hung hăng; vậy, ta sẽ diệt-trừ họ cùng đất.
he seide to Noe, The ende of al fleisch is comen bifore me; the erthe is fillid with wickidnesse of the face of hem, and Y schal distrye hem with the erthe.
14 Ngươi hãy đóng một chiếc tàu bằng cây gô-phe, đóng có từng phòng, rồi trét chai bề trong cùng bề ngoài.
Make thou to thee a schip of trees hewun and planed; thou schalt make dwellynge placis in the schip, and thou schalt anoynte it with pitche with ynne and with outforth.
15 Vậy, hãy làm theo thế nầy: Bề dài tàu ba trăm thước, bề ngang năm mươi thước, bề cao ba mươi thước.
And so thou schalt make it. The lengthe of the schip schal be of thre hundrid cubitis, the brede schal be of fifti cubitis, and the hiynesse therof schal be of thretti cubitis.
16 Trên tàu ngươi sẽ làm một cửa sổ, bề cao một thước, và chừa một cửa bên hông; ngươi sẽ làm một từng dưới, một từng giữa và một từng trên.
Thou schalt make a wyndow in the schip, and thou schalt ende the hiynesse therof in a cubite; sotheli thou schalt sette the dore of the schip in the side binethe; thou shalt make soleris and placis of thre chaumbris in the schip.
17 Còn ta đây, ta sẽ dẫn nước lụt khắp trên mặt đất, đặng diệt tuyệt các xác thịt có sanh khí ở dưới trời; hết thảy vật chi ở trên mặt đất đều sẽ chết hết.
Lo! Y schal brynge `watris of diluuye ether greet flood on erthe, and Y schal sle ech fleisch in which is the spirit of lijf vndir heuene, and alle thingis that ben in erthe, schulen be wastid.
18 Nhưng ta sẽ lập giao ước cùng ngươi, rồi ngươi và vợ, các con và các dâu của ngươi, đều hãy vào tàu.
And Y schal sette my couenaunt of pees with thee; and thou schalt entre in to the schip, and thy sones, and thi wijf, and the wiues of thi sones schulen entre with thee.
19 Về các loài sanh vật, ngươi hãy dẫn xuống tàu mỗi loài một cặp, có đực có cái, có trống có mái, hầu cho ở cùng ngươi đặng giữ tròn sự sống;
And of alle lyuynge beestis of al fleisch thou schalt brynge in to the schip tweyne and tweyne, of male kynde and female, that thei lyue with thee;
20 chim tùy theo loại, súc vật tùy theo loại, côn trùng tùy theo loại, mỗi thứ hai con, sẽ đến cùng ngươi, để ngươi giữ tròn sự sống cho.
of briddis bi her kynde, and of werk beestis in her kynde, and of ech crepynge beeste of erthe, by her kynde; tweyne and tweyne of alle schulen entre with thee, that thei moun lyue.
21 Lại, ngươi hãy lấy các thứ đồ ăn đem theo, đặng để dành làm lương thực cho ngươi và các loài đó.
Therfore thou schalt take with thee of alle metis that moun be etun, and thou schalt bere to gidre at thee, and tho schulen be as well to thee as to the beestis in to mete.
22 Nô-ê làm các điều nầy y như lời Đức Chúa Trời đã phán dặn.
Therfor Noe dide alle thingis whiche God comaundide to hym.
