Sáng Thế 15
1 Sau các việc đó, trong sự hiện thấy có lời Đức Giê-hô-va phán cùng Aùp-ram rằng: Hỡi Aùp-ram! ngươi chớ sợ chi; ta đây là một cái thuẫn đỡ cho ngươi; phần thưởng của ngươi sẽ rất lớn.
After these deades ye worde of God came vnto Abram in a vision saynge feare not Abram I am thy shilde and thy rewarde shalbe exceadynge greate.
2 Aùp-ram thưa rằng: Lạy Chúa Giê-hô-va, Chúa sẽ cho tôi chi? Tôi sẽ chết không con, kẻ nối nghiệp nhà tôi là Ê-li-ê-se, người Đa-mách.
And Abram answered: LORde Iehouah what wilt thou geue me: I goo childlesse and the cater of myne housse this Eleasar of Damasco hath a sonne.
3 Aùp-ram lại nói rằng: Nầy, Chúa làm cho tôi tuyệt-tự; một kẻ tôi tớ sanh đẻ tại nhà tôi sẽ làm người kế nghiệp tôi.
And Abram sayd: se to me hast thou geven no seed: lo a lad borne in my housse shalbe myne heyre.
4 Đức Giê-hô-va bèn phán cùng Aùp-ram rằng: Kẻ đó chẳng phải là kẻ kế nghiệp ngươi đâu, nhưng ai ở trong gan ruột ngươi ra, sẽ là người kế nghiệp ngươi.
And beholde the worde of the LORde spake vnto Abram sayenge: He shall not be thyne heyre but one that shall come out of thyne awne bodye shalbe thyne heyre.
5 Đoạn, Ngài dẫn người ra ngoài và phán rằng: Ngươi hãy ngó lên trời, và nếu ngươi đếm được các ngôi sao thì hãy đếm đi. Ngài lại phán rằng: Dòng dõi ngươi cũng sẽ như vậy.
And he brought him out at the doores ad sayde. Loke vpp vnto heaven and tell the starres yf thou be able to nobre them. And sayde vnto him Even so shall thy seed be.
6 Aùp-ram tin Đức Giê-hô-va, thì Ngài kể sự đó là công bình cho người.
And Abram beleved the LORde and it was counted to him for rightwesnes.
7 Đức Giê-hô-va lại phán cùng Aùp-ram rằng: Ta là Đức Giê-hô-va, Đấng đã dẫn ngươi ra khỏi U-rơ, thuộc về xứ Canh-đê, để ban cho ngươi xứ nầy làm sản nghiệp.
And he sayde vnto hym: I am the LORde that brought the out of Vrin Chaldea to geue the this lande to possesse it.
8 Aùp-ram thưa rằng: Lạy Chúa Giê-hô-va, bởi cớ chi tôi biết rằng tôi sẽ được xứ nầy làm sản nghiệp?
And he sayde: LORde God whereby shall I knowe that I shall possesse it?
9 Đức Giê-hô-va đáp rằng: Ngươi hãy bắt đem cho ta một con bò cái ba tuổi, một con dê cái ba tuổi, một con chiên đực ba tuổi, một con cu rừng và một con bò câu con.
And he sayde vnto him: take an heyfer of. iij. yere olde and a she gotte of thre yeres olde and a thre yere olde ram a turtill doue and a yonge pigeon.
10 Aùp-ram bắt đủ các loài vật đó, mổ làm hai, để mỗi nửa con mỗi bên đối với nhau, nhưng không mổ các loài chim ra làm hai.
And he toke all these and devyded them in the myddes and layde euery pece one over agenst a nother. But the foules devyded he not.
11 Có những chim ăn mồi bay đáp trên mấy con thú chết đó, song Aùp-ram đuổi nó đi.
And the byrdes fell on the carcases but Abra droue the awaye.
12 Vả, khi mặt trời vừa lặn, thì Aùp-ram ngủ mê; nầy một cơn kinh hãi, tối tăm nhập vào mình người.
And when the sonne was doune there fell a slomber apon Abram. And loo feare and greate darknesse came apon hym.
13 Đức Giê-hô-va phán cùng Aùp-ram rằng: Phải biết rằng, dòng dõi ngươi sẽ ngụ trong một xứ chẳng thuộc về chúng nó, làm tôi mọi cho dân xứ đó và bị họ hà hiếp bốn trăm năm.
And he sayde vnto Abram: knowe this of a suertie that thi seed shalbe a straunger in a lande that perteyneth not vnto the. And they shall make bondmen of them and entreate them evell iiij. hundred yeares.
14 Nhưng, ta sẽ đoán phạt dân mà dòng dõi ngươi sẽ làm tôi mọi đó; rồi khi ra khỏi xứ, thì sẽ được của cải rất nhiều.
But the nation whom they shall serue wyll I iudge. And after warde shall they come out wyth greate substace.
15 Còn ngươi sẽ bình yên về nơi tổ phụ, hưởng lộc già sung sướng, rồi qua đời.
Neuerthelesse thou shalt goo vnto thi fathers in peace ad shalt be buried when thou art of a good age:
16 Đến đời thứ tư, dòng dõi ngươi sẽ trở lại đây, vì tội lỗi của dân A-mô-rít chưa được đầy dẫy.
ad in the fourth generation they shall come hyther agayne for the wekednesse of the Amorites ys not yet full.
17 Khi mặt trời đã lặn, thình lình sự tối mịt giáng xuống; kìa có một lò lớn khói lên, và một ngọn lửa lòe ngang qua các xác thịt đã mổ,
When the sonne was doune and it was waxed darke: beholde there was a smokynge furnesse and a fyre brand that went betwene the sayde peces.
18 Ngày đó, Đức Giê-hô-va lập giao ước cùng Aùp-ram, mà phán rằng: Ta cho dòng dõi ngươi xứ nầy, từ sông Ê-díp-tô cho đến sông lớn kia, tức sông Ơ-phơ-rát,
And that same daye the LORde made a covenaunte with Abram saynge: vnto thy seed wyll I geue thys londe fro the ryver of Egypte even vnto the greate ryver euphrates:
19 là xứ của các dân Kê-nít, Kê-nê-sít, Cát-mô-nít
the kenytes the kenizites the Cadmonites
20 Hê-tít, Phê-rê-sít, Rê-pha-im,
the Hethites the Pherezites the Raphaims
21 A-mô-nít, Ca-na-an, Ghi-ê-ga-sít và Giê-bu-sít.
the Amorytes the Canaanites the Gergesites and the Iebusites.
