II Sử Ký 5

1 Aáy vậy, các công việc mà Sa-lô-môn làm cho đền của Đức Giê-hô-va đều xong rồi. Sa-lô-môn đem đến những vật mà Đa-vít, cha người, đã biệt riêng ra thánh, tức là bạc, vàng, và các khí dụng, để vào kho của đền Đức Chúa Trời.

And so was ended all the work which Solomon made for the house of the Lord; and Solomon brought in the things sanctified by David his father; and the silver, and the gold, and all the vessels he placed in the treasuries of the house of God.

2 Sa-lô-môn bèn nhóm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem các trưởng lão Y-sơ-ra-ên, các trưởng của các chi phái, và các trưởng tộc dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, đặng rước hòm giao ước của Đức Giê-hô-va lên từ thành Đa-vít, là Si-ôn.

Then did Solomon assemble the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the divisions of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

3 Mọi người Y-sơ-ra-ên đều nhóm lại đến cùng vua nhằm k” lễ tháng bảy.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king at the feast which is [in] the seventh month.

4 Các trưởng lão Y-sơ-ra-ên đều đến, và người Lê-vi khiêng hòm đi.

All the elders of Israel came, and the Levites took up the ark.

5 Những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi đều đem lên cái hòm, hội mạc, và các khí dụng thánh vốn ở trong trại.

And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle: these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

6 Vua Sa-lô-môn và cả hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên đã nhóm lại với vua, đều đứng trước hòm, dâng những chiên và bò làm của lễ, nhiều vô số không thể đếm được.

And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, which could not be numbered nor told for multitude.

7 Những thầy tế lễ đem hòm giao ước của Đức Giê-hô-va vào nơi dọn cho hòm, tức trong nơi chí thánh của đền, dưới cánh chê-ru-bin.

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord unto its place, into the debir of the house, into the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim.

8 Hai chê-ru-bin sè cánh ra trên chỗ hòm, che hòm và đòn khiêng.

And the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its staves from above.

9 Đòn khiêng thì dài, nên đầu đòn thấy ló ra ngoài hòm, trước nơi chí thánh; nhưng ở ngoài đền thì chẳng thấy; hòm vẫn ở đó cho đến ngày nay.

And they had made the staves so long that the ends of the staves were seen [standing out] from the ark in the front of the debir; but they were not seen without; and they have remained there until this day.

10 Chẳng có gì trong hòm, trừ ra hai bảng luật pháp mà Môi-se đã để vào tại Hô-rếp, khi Đức Giê-hô-va lập giao ước với dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, lúc chúng ra khỏi Ê-díp-tô.

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses had placed [therein] at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

11 Khi những thầy tế lễ ra khỏi nơi thánh (vì phàm thầy tế lễ ở đó đều đã dọn mình ra thánh sạch, mà chưa giữ theo ban thứ nào),

And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place; for all the priests that were present had sanctified themselves, the divisions not having been observed; —

12 và các người ca hát trong dân Lê-vi, tức A-sáp, Hê-nan, Giê-đu-thun, cùng con trai và anh em họ, đang mặc quần áo bằng vải gai mịn, cầm chập chỏa, đàn sắt, và đàn cầm, đều đứng ở phía đông bàn thờ, với một trăm hai mươi thầy tế lễ thổi kèn.

And the Levites the singers, all together, of Assaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east side of the altar, and with them were one hundred and twenty priests blowing on trumpets; —

13 Xảy khi kẻ thổi kèn và kẻ ca hát đồng thinh hòa nhau như một người, mà khen ngợi cảm tạ Đức Giê-hô-va, và khi họ trổi tiếng kèn, chập chỏa, nhạc khí lên khen ngợi Đức Giê-hô-va, rằng: Ngài từ thiện, lòng thương xót Ngài hằng có đời đời, thì đền của Đức Giê-hô-va bị mây lấp đầy;

And it came thus to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice [accompanied] with trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and in praising the Lord, For he is good; because unto everlasting endureth his kindness: that the house, even the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud;

14 đến đỗi những thầy tế lễ vì mây không thể đứng đó hầu việc được, vì sự vinh hiển của Đức Giê-hô-va đầy lấp đền của Đức Chúa Trời.

And the priests were not able to stand to minister because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.
