Thánh Thi 107
1 Hãy ngợi khen Ðức Giê-hô-va, vì Ngài là thiện; Sự nhơn từ Ngài còn đến đời đời.
'Give ye thanks to Jehovah, For good, for to the age [is] His kindness:'
2 Các người Ðức Giê-hô-va đã chuộc Khỏi tay kẻ hà hiếp hãy nói đều đó,
Let the redeemed of Jehovah say, Whom He redeemed from the hand of an adversary.
3 Tức là các người Ngài đã hiệp lại từ các xứ; Từ phương đông, phương tây, phương bắc, phương nam.
And from the lands hath gathered them, From east and from west, From north, and from the sea.
4 Họ lưu lạc nơi đồng vắng, trong con đường hiu quạnh, Không tìm thành ở được;
They wandered in a wilderness, in a desert by the way, A city of habitation they have not found.
5 Họ bị đói khát, Linh hồn bèn nao sờn trong mình họ.
Hungry — yea — thirsty, Their soul in them becometh feeble,
6 Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Ðức Giê-hô-va; Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi đều gian nan,
And they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distress He delivereth them,
7 Dẫn họ theo đường ngay thẳng, Ðặng đi đến một thành ở được.
And causeth them to tread in a right way, To go unto a city of habitation.
8 Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Ðức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.
9 Vì Ngài làm cho lòng khao khát được thỏa thích, Khiến cho hồn đói được đầy dẫy vật tốt.
For He hath satisfied a longing soul, And a hungry soul hath filled [with] goodness.
10 Những kẻ ở trong tối tăm và bóng sự chết, Bị khốn khổ và xích sắt bắt buộc,
Inhabitants of dark places and death-shade, Prisoners of affliction and of iron,
11 Bởi vì đã bội nghịch lời Ðức Chúa Trời, Và khinh dể sự khuyên dạy của Ðấng Chí cao.
Because they changed the saying of God, And the counsel of the Most High despised.
12 Nhơn đó Ngài lấy sự lao khổ hạ lòng họ xuống; Họ vấp ngã không ai giúp đỡ.
And He humbleth with labour their heart, They have been feeble, and there is no helper.
13 Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Ðức Giê-hô-va; Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan,
And they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them.
14 Rút họ khỏi sự tối tăm và bóng sự chết, Cũng bẻ gãy xiềng của họ.
He bringeth them out from the dark place, And death-shade, And their bands He draweth away.
15 Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Ðức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.
16 Vì Ngài đã phá cửa đồng, Và gãy các song sắt.
For He hath broken doors of brass, And bars of iron He hath cut.
17 Kẻ ngu dại bị khốn khổ Vì sự vi phạm và sự gian ác mình;
Fools, by means of their transgression, And by their iniquities, afflict themselves.
18 Lòng chúng nó gớm ghê các thứ đồ ăn; Họ đến gần cửa sự chết.
All food doth their soul abominate, And they come nigh unto the gates of death,
19 Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Ðức Giê-hô-va, Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan.
And cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them,
20 Ngài ra lịnh chữa họ lành, Rút họ khỏi cái huyệt.
He sendeth His word and healeth them, And delivereth from their destructions.
21 Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Ðức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,
22 Nguyện chúng dâng của lễ thù ân, Lấy bài hát vui mừng mà thuật các công việc Ngài.
And they sacrifice sacrifices of thanksgiving, And recount His works with singing.
23 Có người đi xuống tàu trong biển, Và làm việc nơi nước cả;
Those going down [to] the sea in ships, Doing business in many waters,
24 Kẻ ấy thấy công việc Ðức Giê-hô-va, Xem phép lạ Ngài trong nước sâu.
They have seen the works of Jehovah, And His wonders in the deep.
25 Ngài biểu, bèn có trận gió bão, Nổi các lượn sóng lên.
And He saith, and appointeth a tempest, And it lifteth up its billows,
26 Ðưa cao đến các từng trời, rồi hụp xuống tới vực sâu: Lòng họ tiêu tan vì khốn khổ.
They go up [to] the heavens, they go down [to] the depths, Their soul in evil is melted.
27 Họ choáng váng xiêu tó như một người say, Sự khôn ngoan họ đều mất hết.
They reel to and fro, and move as a drunkard, And all their wisdom is swallowed up.
28 Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Ðức Giê-hô-va, Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan.
And they cry to Jehovah in their adversity, And from their distresses He bringeth them out.
29 Ngài ngừng bão-tố, đổi nó ra bình tịnh, Và sóng êm lặng.
He establisheth a whirlwind to a calm, And hushed are their billows.
30 Họ bèn vui mừng vì sóng êm lặng; Chúa dẫn họ vào bến họ ước ao.
And they rejoice because they are quiet, And He leadeth them to the haven of their desire.
31 Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Ðức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,
32 Người ta cũng hãy tôn cao Ngài trong hội dân sự, Và ngợi khen, Ngài tại nơi hiệp tập các trưởng lão.
And they exalt Him in the assembly of the people, And in the seat of the elders praise Him.
33 Ngài đổi sông ra đồng vắng, Suối nước thành đất khô,
He maketh rivers become a wilderness, And fountains of waters become dry land.
34 Và đất màu mỡ ra đất mặn, Vì cớ sự gian ác của dân ở tại đó.
A fruitful land becometh a barren place, For the wickedness of its inhabitants.
35 Ngài biến đồng vắng thành ao nước, Ðất khô ra những suối nước;
He maketh a wilderness become a pool of water, And a dry land become fountains of waters.
36 Ngài làm cho những kẻ đói được ở lại đó, Họ xây lập thành đặng ở.
And He causeth the hungry to dwell there, And they prepare a city of habitation.
37 Họ gieo ruộng và trồng nho, Ruộng và nho sanh bông trái.
And they sow fields, and plant vineyards, And they make fruits of increase.
38 Ðức Chúa Trời ban phước cho họ đến đỗi họ sanh sản nhiều thêm; Ngài không để cho súc vật họ bị hao hớt.
And He blesseth them, and they multiply exceedingly, And their cattle He doth not diminish.
39 Họ lại bị hạ số và phải cực lòng Vì sự hà hiếp, sự gian nan, và sự buồn rầu.
And they are diminished, and bow down, By restraint, evil, and sorrow.
40 Ngài đổ sự nhuốc nhơ trên vua chúa, Khiến họ phải lưu lạc trong nơi vắng vẻ không đường.
He is pouring contempt upon nobles, And causeth them to wander in vacancy — no way.
41 Nhưng Ngài vớt kẻ thiếu thốn khỏi hoạn nạn, Làm cho người ấy được gia quyến đông như bầy chiên.
And setteth on high the needy from affliction, And placeth families as a flock.
42 Các người ngay thẳng sẽ thấy điều ấy, và vui vẻ, Còn các kẻ ác đều phải ngậm miệng lại.
The upright do see and rejoice, And all perversity hath shut her mouth.
43 Phàm kẻ nào khôn ngoan sẽ chú ý về điều nầy, Và suy gẫm sự nhơn từ của Ðức Giê-hô-va.
Who [is] wise, and observeth these? They understand the kind acts of Jehovah!
