Ê-xơ-ra 5
1 Vả, tiên tri A-ghê và tiên tri Xa-cha-ri, con của Y-đô, nhơn danh Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên nói tiên tri cho các người Giu-đa ở tại xứ Giu-đa và ở Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Forsothe Aggei, the prophete, and Zacharie, the prophete, the sone of Ado, prophesieden, prophesiynge in the name of God of Israel, to the Jewis that weren in Juda and Jerusalem.
2 Xô-rô-ba-bên, con trai của Sa-anh-thi-ên, và Giê-sua, con trai của Giô-xa-đác, bèn chổi dậy, khởi cất đền Ðức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, có các tiên tri của Ðức Chúa Trời giúp đỡ.
Thanne Zorobabel, the sone of Salatiel, and Josue, the sone of Josedech, risiden, and bigunnen to bilde the temple of God in Jerusalem; and with hem rysyden the prophetis of God, helpynge hem.
3 Trong lúc đó, Tát-tê-nai, quan tổng đốc của xứ phía bên nầy sông, Sê-ta-Bô-xê-nai, và các đồng liêu họ, đến tìm dân Giu-đa, mà nói cùng chúng như vầy: Ai ban lịnh cho các ngươi cất cái đền nầy và xây vách thành nầy lên?
Forsothe in that tyme Tatannai, that was duyk biyende the flood, and Starbusannay, and the counselouris of hem, camen to hem, and seiden thus to hem, Who yaf counsel to you to bilde this hows, and to restore these wallis?
4 Chúng ta bèn nói cùng họ tên những người xây cất cái đền nầy.
To which thing we answeriden to hem, whiche weren the names of men, autours of that bildyng.
5 Con mắt Ðức Chúa Trời của chúng đoái xem các trưởng lão dân Giu-đa, nên họ không ngăn cấm chúng làm công việc, đành lòng đem việc ấy tâu lại vua Ða-ri-út, đợi đến khi vua giáng chiếu về sự ấy.
Forsothe the iye of God of hem was maad on the elde men of Jewis, and thei myyten not forbede the Jewis; and it pleside that the thing schulde be teld to Darius, and thanne thei schulden make satisfaccioun ayens that accusyng.
6 Nầy bổn sao lục tờ biểu mà Tát-tê-nai, quan tổng đốc của xứ phía bên nầy sông, Sê-ta-Bô-xê-nai, và các đồng liêu người, tức người A-phạt-sác ở bên nầy sông, tấu lên vua Ða-ri-út,
This is the saumpler of the pistle, which Tathannai, duyk of the cuntrey biyende the flood, and Starbursannai, and hise counselouris, Arphasacei, that weren biyende the flood, senten to kyng Darius.
7 như lời sau nầy: Chúc vua Ða-ri-út thái bình mọi vẻ!
The word which thei senten to hym was writun thus; Al pees be to the kyng Darius.
8 Chúng tôi muốn vua hay rằng chúng tôi có đi trong tỉnh Giu-đa, đến đền thờ của Ðức Chúa Trời rất lớn, thấy người Giu-đa xây cất cái đền thờ ấy bằng đá nguyên khối; sườn nhà đã gác ngang qua vách rồi, và công việc làm cách kỹ lưỡng và tấn tới trong tay họ.
Be it knowun to the kyng, that we yeden to the prouince of Judee, to the hows of greet God, which is bildid with stoon vnpolischid, and trees ben set in the wallis, and thilke werk is bildid diligently, and encreessith in the hondis of hem.
9 Chúng tôi có hỏi các trưởng lão ấy rằng: Ai ban lịnh cho các ngươi xây cất cái đền nầy và xây vách thành nầy lên?
Therfor we axiden tho elde men, and thus we seiden to hem, Who yaf to you power to bilde this hows, and to restore these wallis?
10 Chúng tôi cũng hỏi danh tánh họ, đặng tâu cho vua biết các tên của những người quản suất chúng.
But also we axiden of hem the names `of hem, that we schulden telle to thee; and we han write the names of men, whiche thei ben, that ben princes among hem.
11 Chúng đáp lời như vầy: Chúng tôi vốn là kẻ tôi tớ của Ðức Chúa Trời, Chúa tể của trời và đất; chúng tôi đang xây cất lại cái đền thờ, đã lâu năm trước đây có một vua sang trọng của Y-sơ-ra-ên lập lên và làm cho hoàn thành.
Sotheli thei answeriden bi sich word, and seiden, We ben the seruauntis of God of heuene and of erthe; and we bilden the temple that was bildid bifor these many yeeris, and `which temple the greet kyng of Israel `hadde bildid, and maad.
12 Song các tổ phụ chúng tôi chọc giận Ðức Chúa Trời, nên Ngài phó chúng vào tay Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, là người Canh-đê; vua ấy phá hủy đền nầy và bắt dân sự đem qua Ba-by-lôn.
But aftir that oure fadris stiryden God of heuene and of erthe to wrathfulnesse, bothe he bitook hem in the hond of Nabugodonosor, Caldey, kyng of Babiloyne; and he distriede this hows, and translatide the puple therof in to Babiloyne.
13 Nhưng năm đời Si-ru, vua Ba-by-lôn, trị vì, vua Si-ru truyền lịnh cất lại cái đền của Ðức Chúa Trời.
Forsothe in the firste yeer of Cirus, king of Babiloyne, Cirus, the king of Babiloyne, settide forth `a comaundement, that the hows of God schulde be bildid.
14 Vua Si-ru cũng rút ra khỏi đền thờ Ba-by-lôn những chậu vàng và bạc của đền Ðức Chúa Trời, mà Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa đã đoạt lấy khỏi đền thờ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, đem về trong đền thờ Ba-by-lôn; Si-ru giao các vật ấy cho danh Sết-ba-xa, mà người lập làm quan tổng đốc,
For whi kyng Cirus brouyte forth `fro the temple of Babiloyne also the goldun and siluerne vessels of Goddis temple, whiche Nabugodonosor hadde take fro the temple, that was in Jerusalem, and hadde bore tho awei in to the temple of Babiloyne; and tho vessels weren youun to Sasabazar bi name, whom `he made also prince. And Cirus seide to hym, Take these vessels,
15 và nói với người rằng: Hãy lấy các khí dụng nầy, đi để trong đền thờ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, để xây cất lại nhà của Ðức Chúa Trời trên chỗ cũ nó.
and go, and sette tho in the temple, which is in Jerusalem; and the hows of God be bildid in `his place.
16 Bấy giờ, Sết-ba-xa nầy đến, lập nền đền thờ của Ðức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; và từ lúc đó đến rày người ta đương xây cất nó, song chưa hoàn thành.
Therfor thanne thilke Sasabazar cam, and settide the foundementis of Goddis temple in Jerusalem; and fro that tyme `til to now it is bildid, and is not yit fillid.
17 Vậy bây giờ, nếu đẹp ý vua, xin hãy tra khảo trong kho vua tại Ba-by-lôn, xem thử thật Si-ru có ra chiếu chỉ xây cất lại cái đền của Ðức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem chăng. Ðoạn, cầu vua giáng chiếu dạy chúng tôi ý vua về việc ấy.
Now therfor if it `semeth good to the king, rikene he in the biblet of the kyng, which is in Babiloyne, whether it be comaundid of kyng Cyrus, that Goddis hows schulde be bildid in Jerusalem; and sende he to vs the wille of the kyng `on this thing.
