Xê-ca-ri-a 3

1 Chúa cho tôi thấy thầy thượng tế Giô-sua đang đứng trước thiên sứ của Chúa Hằng Hữu, có Sa-tan đứng bên phải buộc tội người.

Then [Yahweh] showed me Joshua, the Supreme Priest, [who was] standing in front of the angel that Yahweh had sent. And Satan was standing at Joshua’s right side, [ready] to accuse him.

2 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán với Sa-tan: “Chúa Hằng Hữu khiển trách ngươi! Chúa Hằng Hữu—Đấng chọn Giê-ru-sa-lem—quở trách ngươi! Người này chỉ như củi đang cháy dở, được gắp ra từ đám lửa mà thôi.”

But Yahweh said to Satan, “Satan, I am rebuking you! I [am the one] who has chosen Jerusalem [to be my special city, and I] am rebuking you! This [man, Joshua], [has been brought back from Babylonia]; he is surely [like] [MET, RHQ] a burning stick that has been snatched from a fire.”

3 Khi đứng trước mặt thiên sứ của Chúa Hằng Hữu, Giô-sua mặc một chiếc áo bẩn.

Joshua was wearing filthy clothes while he was standing in front of the angel.

4 Thiên sứ Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo các thiên sứ đứng quanh: “Cởi áo bẩn của người ra.” Quay sang Giô-sua, thiên sứ nói: “Thấy không, Ta cất tội con đi, mặc áo tốt đẹp cho con.”

The angel said to those [other angels] who were standing in front of him, “Take off his filthy clothes!” [After they did that, ] the angel said to Joshua, “Look! I have taken away [the guilt of] your sins, and I will put beautiful clothes on you.”

5 Lúc ấy, tôi lên tiếng: “Xin Chúa bảo họ đội cho người một vành khăn sạch nữa.” Vậy, họ đội khăn sạch, mặc áo mới cho người.

Then I said to them, “Put a clean turban on his head!” So they put a clean turban on his head and put [new] on him, while the angel sent by Yahweh was standing there.

6 Thiên sứ của Chúa Hằng Hữu chỉ thị cho Giô-sua:

Then the angel said [this] to Joshua:

7 “Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán: ‘Nếu con theo đường lối Ta, tuân giữ huấn lệnh Ta, con sẽ được cai quản nhà Ta, giữ sân Ta, và Ta sẽ cho con đi lại giữa các thiên sứ đứng chầu Ta đây.

“The Commander of the armies of angels says that if you do what I want you to do [IDM], and obey my instructions, you will (be in charge of/have authority over) [what is done in] my temple and its courtyard. And I will allow you to speak at any time to the angels who are standing near to me.

8 Hãy lắng nghe Ta, hỡi thầy thượng tế Giô-sua, và các bạn ngồi trước mặt con, những người mang điềm lành, hãy nghe lời Ta đây: Ta sẽ đem Đầy Tớ Ta là Chồi Nhánh đến.

Joshua, [you are] the Supreme Priest, and your (associates/fellow priests) are sitting in front of you. They symbolize/represent things that will happen in the future. [Some day] I am going to bring someone who will work for me, someone who will be called the Branch.

9 Ta sẽ khắc chữ trên khối đá bảy mặt Ta đã đặt trước mặt con, Giô-sua, và trong chỉ một ngày, Ta sẽ cất tội lỗi khỏi đất này,’ Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán vậy.

Look at the stone that I have put in front of Joshua. There are seven sides on the stone. I will engrave a message on that stone, and in one day I will remove the guilt of [all the people of] this country.

10 Trong ngày ấy, Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán, mọi người sẽ có dịp mời anh em láng giềng đến thăm cùng nhau ngồi dưới cây nho, và gốc vả trong vườn.”

At that time, each of you will invite his friends [to come and sit] under his grapevine and under his fig tree. [That is what] the Commander of the armies of angels declares.”
