Nhã Ca 3
1 Đêm khuya trên giường, em khao khát vì người yêu. Em mong mỏi nhưng chàng không đến.
On my couch during the nights I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2 Em tự nhủ: “Ta phải dậy và đi quanh thành phố, đến các ngã đường và từng khu dân cư. Ta phải tìm được người ta yêu dấu.” Nhưng chàng vẫn biệt tăm dù đã kiếm khắp nơi.
Oh, I must rise now, and go about in the city in the streets, and in the open places; I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
3 Lính tuần thành gặp em trên đường phố, em hỏi: “Ông có thấy người tôi yêu?”
Then found me the watchmen that walked about the city. “Have ye seen him whom my soul loveth?”
4 Chẳng bao lâu khi rời khởi họ, em tìm được người em dấu yêu! Em đã giữ và ôm chàng thật chặt, rồi đưa chàng về nhà của mẹ em, vào giường của mẹ, nơi em được sinh ra.
Scarcely had I passed away from them, when I found him whom my soul loveth: I laid fast hold of him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that had born me.
5 Hãy hứa với tôi, hỡi người nữ Giê-ru-sa-lem, nhân danh đàn linh dương và đàn nai đồng nội, đừng đánh thức ái tình cho đến khi đúng hạn.
I adjure you, ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye awaken not, nor excite my love, till it please [to come of itself].—
6 Bóng ai từ hoang mạc đi lên như cột khói? Ngào ngạt mùi nhũ hương và một dược, cùng mọi thứ hương liệu ấy là ai?
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all spicy powders of the merchant?
7 Xem kìa, đó là kiệu của Sa-lô-môn, chung quanh có sáu mươi người quả cảm, là dũng sĩ giỏi nhất của Ít-ra-ên.
Behold, it is the bed, which is Solomon's, sixty valiant men are round about it, of the valiant ones of Israel.
8 Tất cả họ đều thạo sử dụng gươm, là những tay kinh nghiệm chiến đấu. Mỗi người mang bên mình gươm sắc, bảo vệ vua lúc đêm tối hiểm nguy.
All of them are girded with the sword, are expert in war; every one hath his sword upon his thigh, because of the terror in the nights.
9 Kiệu Vua Sa-lô-môn được làm bằng gỗ quý hiếm từ rừng Li-ban.
A palanquin did king Solomon make for himself out of the wood of Lebanon.
10 Những cột trụ được làm bằng bạc, vòm che kiệu được tạo bằng vàng; đệm được bao bọc bằng vải tím. Nó được trang trí bằng tình yêu của các thiếu nữ Giê-ru-sa-lem.
The pillars thereof he made of silver, its coverlid of gold, its seat of purple: its inner part is arranged lovely, by the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 Hãy đến ngắm nhìn Vua Sa-lô-môn, hỡi các thiếu nữ Giê-ru-sa-lem. Vua mang vương miện mẹ tặng trong ngày cưới, đó là ngày hạnh phúc nhất của vua.
Go forth, and look, O ye daughters of Zion, on king Solomon, with the crown wherewith his mother hath crowned him on the day of his espousals, and on the day of the joy in his heart.
