Rô-ma 12
1 Và vì vậy, thưa anh chị em, tôi nài khuyên anh chị em dâng thân thể mình lên Đức Chúa Trời vì tất cả điều Ngài đã làm cho anh chị em. Hãy dâng như một sinh tế sống và thánh—là của lễ Ngài hài lòng. Đó là cách đích thực để thờ phượng Ngài.
I plead with you therefore, brethren, by the compassionsof God, to present all your faculties to Him as a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to Him. This with you will be an act of reasonable worship.
2 Đừng đồng hóa với người đời, nhưng hãy để Chúa đổi mới tâm trí mình; nhờ đó anh chị em có thể tìm biết ý muốn của Đức Chúa Trời, và hiểu rõ điều gì tốt đẹp, trọn vẹn, hài lòng Ngài. (aiōn g165)
And do not follow the customs of the present age, but be transformed by the entire renewal of your minds, so that you may learn by experience what God's will is--that will which is good and beautiful and perfect. (aiōn g165)
3 Do ơn phước Đức Chúa Trời ban, tôi khuyên anh chị em đừng có những ý nghĩ quá cao về mình, nhưng mỗi người phải khiêm tốn tự xét đúng theo mức độ đức tin Đức Chúa Trời ban cho mình.
For through the authority graciously given to me I warn every individual among you not to value himself unduly, but to cultivate sobriety of judgement in accordance with the amount of faith which God has allotted to each one.
4 Thân thể chúng ta có nhiều chi thể, mỗi chi thể giữ một chức phận khác nhau.
For just as there are in the one human body many parts, and these parts have not all the same function;
5 Cũng thế, trong Chúa Cứu Thế, tất cả chúng ta hợp làm một thân thể, và các chi thể đều tùy thuộc lẫn nhau.
so collectively we form one body in Christ, while individually we are linked to one another as its members.
6 Trong ơn phước Ngài, Đức Chúa Trời ban ân tứ cho chúng ta mỗi người một khác. Người có ân tứ nói tiên tri, hãy nói theo đức tin mình.
But since we have special gifts which differ in accordance with the diversified work graciously entrusted to us, if it is prophecy, let the prophet speak in exact proportion to his faith;
7 Ai phục dịch, hãy hăng hái phục dịch. Ai dạy dỗ, hãy chuyên tâm dạy dỗ.
if it is the gift of administration, let the administrator exercise a sound judgement in his duties.
8 Ai khích lệ, hãy tận tình khích lệ. Ai cứu tế, hãy dâng hiến rời rộng. Ai lãnh đạo, hãy tận tâm lãnh đạo. Ai an ủi người đau khổ, hãy hết lòng an ủi.
The teacher must do the same in his teaching; and he who exhorts others, in his exhortation. He who gives should be liberal; he who is in authority should be energetic and alert; and he who succours the afflicted should do it cheerfully.
9 Tình yêu thương phải chân thành. Phải ghét bỏ điều ác và gắn bó điều thiện.
Let your love be perfectly sincere. Regard with horror what is evil; cling to what is right.
10 Hãy yêu thương nhau tha thiết như anh chị em ruột thịt, phải kính trọng nhau.
As for brotherly love, be affectionate to one another; in matters of worldly honour, yield to one another.
11 Phải siêng năng làm việc, đừng biếng nhác, phải phục vụ Chúa với tinh thần hăng hái.
Do not be indolent when zeal is required. Be thoroughly warm-hearted, the Lord's own servants,
12 Hãy vui mừng trong niềm hy vọng. Nhẫn nại trong lúc hoạn nạn, và bền lòng cầu nguyện.
full of joyful hope, patient under persecution, earnest and persistent in prayer.
13 Hãy chia cơm sẻ áo cho các tín hữu, hãy ân cần tiếp khách.
Relieve the necessities of God's people; always practise hospitality.
14 Hãy cầu phước cho những người bức hại anh chị em, chớ nguyền rủa họ; cầu xin Đức Chúa Trời ban phước cho họ.
Invoke blessings on your persecutors--blessings, not curses.
15 Hãy vui với người vui, khóc với người khóc.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
16 Hãy sống hòa hợp với nhau. Đừng kiêu kỳ, nhưng phải vui vẻ hòa mình với những người tầm thường. Đừng cho mình là khôn ngoan!
Have full sympathy with one another. Do not give your mind to high things, but let humble ways content you. Do not be wise in your own conceits.
17 Đừng lấy ác báo ác. Hãy thực hành điều thiện trước mặt mọi người.
Pay back to no man evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and seemly in every one's esteem.
18 Phải cố sức sống hòa bình với mọi người.
If you can, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with all the world.
19 Anh chị em yêu dấu, đừng báo thù. Hãy để cho Đức Chúa Trời báo ứng. Vì Thánh Kinh đã chép: “Báo ứng là việc của Ta; Ta sẽ thưởng phạt.” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán vậy.
Do not be revengeful, my dear friends, but give way before anger; for it is written, "'Revenge belongs to Me: I will pay back,' says the Lord."
20 Nhưng: “Nếu kẻ thù con có đói, nên mời ăn. Nếu họ có khát, hãy cho uống. Làm như thế chẳng khác gì con lấy than hồng chất lên đầu họ.”
On the contrary, therefore, if your enemy is hungry, give him food; if he is thirsty, quench his thirst. For by doing this you will be heaping burning coals upon his head.
21 Đừng để điều ác thắng mình, nhưng phải lấy điều thiện thắng điều ác.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome the evil with goodness.
