Khải Huyền 18
1 Sau đó, tôi thấy một thiên sứ khác từ trời xuống, có uy quyền rất lớn, hào quang chiếu khắp mặt đất.
After these things I saw another angel descending out of the heaven, having great authority: and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 Thiên sứ lớn tiếng tuyên bố: “Ba-by-lôn lớn sụp đổ—thành vĩ đại sụp đổ hoàn toàn! Thành này đã biến thành sào huyệt của các quỷ. Nó là nơi giam giữ tà linh và các loài chim dơ dáy, gớm ghiếc.
And he cried with a strong voice, saying, Great Babylon has fallen, has fallen, and has become the habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hated bird;
3 Mọi dân tộc sụp đổ vì đã uống rượu gian dâm điên cuồng của nó. Các vua trên thế gian đã gian dâm với nó. Các nhà buôn làm giàu nhờ sự xa hoa quá mức của nó.”
because all the nations have drunk of the wine of the fury of her fornication; and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have been enriched through the might of her luxury.
4 Tôi lại nghe một tiếng khác từ trời: “Dân Chúa! Hãy ra khỏi thành để khỏi dính dấp vào tội lỗi nó mà mang họa lây.
And I heard another voice out of the heaven saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye have not fellowship in her sins, and that ye do not receive of her plagues:
5 Vì tội lỗi nó chồng chất đến tận trời, và Đức Chúa Trời đã nhớ lại tội ác nó.
for her sins have been heaped on one another up to the heaven, and God has remembered her unrighteousnesses.
6 Nó đối với các con thể nào. Hãy đáp lại nó thể ấy. Hơn nữa, hãy báo trả gấp hai những việc nó làm. Chén nó đã pha cho các con, hãy cho nó uống gấp đôi.
Recompense her even as she has recompensed; and double [to her] double, according to her works. In the cup which she has mixed, mix to her double.
7 Nó đã sống vinh hoa, xa xỉ thế nào, hãy cho nó chịu đau đớn khổ sở thế ấy. Nó nói thầm trong lòng: ‘Ta là nữ hoàng ngự trên ngai báu. Ta nào phải là quả phụ, và ta chẳng bao giờ phải khóc than.’
So much as she has glorified herself and lived luxuriously, so much torment and grief give to her. Because she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and I am not a widow; and I shall in no wise see grief:
8 Cho nên mọi tai họa sẽ giáng trên nó trong một ngày— nào đói khổ, tang chế và diệt vong. Nó sẽ bị thiêu trong lửa, vì Chúa là Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng Toàn Năng sẽ đoán phạt nó.”
for this reason in one day shall her plagues come, death and grief and famine, and she shall be burnt with fire; for strong [is the] Lord God who has judged her.
9 Các vua thế gian, là những người đã gian dâm và sống xa hoa với nó sẽ khóc lóc than vãn khi thấy khói thiêu đốt nó bay lên.
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication, and lived luxuriously with her, shall weep and wail over her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
10 Khiếp sợ vì nỗi đau đớn của nó, họ đứng xa than thở: “Khốn nạn cho kinh thành vĩ đại, Ba-by-lôn hùng cường đệ nhất! Chỉ trong một giờ sự phán xét của Đức Chúa Trời giáng trên ngươi.”
standing afar off, through fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour thy judgment is come.
11 Các nhà buôn trên thế giới cũng khóc lóc than vãn, vì chẳng còn ai mua hàng hóa của họ nữa.
And the merchants of the earth weep and grieve over her, because no one buys their lading any more;
12 Hàng hóa gồm đủ loại: Vàng, bạc, đá quý, trân châu; vải gai mịn, vải màu tía, lụa, và vải màu điều; các loại gỗ thơm, các phẩm vật bằng ngà, và gỗ quý; đồng, sắt, và cẩm thạch.
lading of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet dye, and all thyine wood, and every article in ivory, and every article in most precious wood, and in brass, and in iron, and in marble,
13 Quế, hương liệu, nhang, nhựa thơm, trầm hương, rượu, dầu ô-liu, bột, lúa mì, gia súc, chiên, ngựa, xe, và nô lệ—tức linh hồn người ta.
and cinnamon, and amomum, and incense, and unguent, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of bodies, and souls of men.
14 Họ sẽ nói: “Mọi bảo vật nó ham chuộng đã lìa xa nó. Mọi cảnh xa hoa lộng lẫy cũng đã tan biến, chẳng còn trông thấy nữa.”
And the ripe fruits which were the lust of thy soul have departed from thee, and all fair and splendid things have perished from thee, and they shall not find them any more at all.
15 Các nhà buôn làm giàu nhờ giao thương với nó, cũng khiếp sợ vì nỗi đau đớn của nó, đứng cách xa than thở:
The merchants of these things, who had been enriched through her, shall stand afar off through fear of her torment, weeping and grieving,
16 “Khốn nạn cho kinh thành vĩ đại này! Nó mặc toàn vải gai mịn đỏ tía và đỏ tươi, trang sức bằng vàng, đá quý, và trân châu!
saying, Woe, woe, the great city, which [was] clothed with fine linen and purple and scarlet, and had ornaments of gold and precious stones and pearls!
17 Chỉ trong một giờ, sự giàu sang phồn thịnh kia tan biến!” Các thuyền trưởng, hành khách, hoa tiêu, và các nhà buôn đều đứng từ xa.
for in one hour so great riches has been made desolate. And every steersman, and every one who sailed to any place, and sailors, and all who exercise their calling on the sea, stood afar off,
18 Nhìn thấy khói thiêu đốt nó bốc lên, họ kêu la: “Còn thành nào vĩ đại như thành này không?”
and cried, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city] is like to the great city?
19 Họ sẽ vãi bụi đất lên đầu than khóc: “Khốn nạn, khốn nạn cho thành vĩ đại này! Tất cả chủ thuyền trở nên giàu có nhờ sự di chuyển tấp nập trên biển của nó. Nhưng chỉ trong một giờ nó đã hoang tàn.”
and cast dust upon their heads, and cried, weeping and grieving, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, in which all that had ships in the sea were enriched through her costliness! for in one hour she has been made desolate.
20 Hãy vui mừng về nó, hỡi bầu trời, cùng các thánh đồ, các sứ đồ, và các tiên tri! Vì Đức Chúa Trời đã xét xử nó theo cách nó đã xét xử các ngươi.
Rejoice over her, heaven, and [ye] saints and apostles and prophets; for God has judged your judgment upon her.
21 Một thiên sứ uy dũng nhấc một tảng đá như cối xay lớn quăng xuống biển, và tuyên bố: “Thành Ba-by-lôn lớn sẽ bị quăng xuống như thế, chẳng còn ai trông thấy nữa.
And a strong angel took up a stone, as a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall Babylon the great city be cast down, and shall be found no more at all;
22 Tiếng hát ca, tiếng đàn hạc, tiếng sáo, hay tiếng kèn sẽ không được nghe từ thành này nữa. Chẳng tìm thấy thợ thủ công hay kỹ nghệ nào. Cả tiếng cối xay cũng im bặt trong thành này.
and voice of harp-singers and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters shall not be heard any more at all in thee, and no artificer of any art shall be found any more at all in thee, and voice of millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee,
23 Không còn thấy ánh đèn, Không còn nghe tiếng cô dâu chú rể nơi đó nữa. Các nhà buôn của nó từng nổi tiếng khắp thế giới, và nó dùng tà thuật lừa gạt mọi quốc gia.
and light of lamp shall shine no more at all in thee, and voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard no more at all in thee; for thy merchants were the great ones of the earth; for by thy sorcery have all the nations been deceived.
24 Máu của các tiên tri và thánh đồ, cùng máu của mọi người bị giết trên thế giới cũng tìm thấy tại thành này.”
And in her was found [the] blood of prophets and saints, and of all the slain upon the earth.
