Khải Huyền 17
1 Một trong bảy thiên sứ gieo tai họa đến bảo tôi: “Lại đây! Tôi sẽ cho ông xem vụ đoán phạt người đại dâm phụ ngồi trên các dòng sông.
And one of the seven messengers who had the seven bowls came, and spake with me, saying—Hither! I will point out to thee the judgment of the great harlot, who sitteth upon many waters,
2 Các vua trên thế gian đã gian dâm với nó, dân cư trên mặt đất đều say sưa vì rượu dâm loạn của nó”.
with whom the kings of the earth committed lewdness, —and they who were dwelling upon the earth were made drunk with the wine of her lewdness.
3 Tôi được Thánh Linh cảm, thấy thiên sứ đem tôi vào hoang mạc. Tại đó tôi thấy một người phụ nữ ngồi trên lưng một con thú đỏ tươi, có bảy đầu, mười sừng, ghi đầy những danh hiệu phạm thượng.
And he carried me away into a desert, in spirit. And I saw a woman, sitting upon a scarlet wild-beast full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 Người phụ nữ mặc hàng đỏ thẫm và đỏ tươi, đeo đầy vàng ngọc và trân châu, tay cầm cái chén vàng đựng đầy những vật ghê tởm, gớm ghiếc.
And, the woman, was arrayed with purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearls, —having a cup of gold in her hand, full of abominations and the impurities of her lewdness;
5 Trên trán nó có ghi một danh hiệu bí ẩn: “Ba-by-lôn lớn, mẹ của các kỹ nữ và mọi điều gớm ghiếc trên thế gian.”
and, upon her forehead, a name written, a secret: Babylon the great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the earth.
6 Tôi thấy người phụ nữ say máu các thánh đồ và máu các nhân chứng của Chúa Giê-xu. Nhìn nó, tôi vô cùng kinh ngạc.
And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I was astonished, when I beheld her, with great astonishment.
7 Thiên sứ hỏi tôi: “Sao ông ngạc nhiên? Tôi sẽ giải nghĩa cho ông bí ẩn của nó và của con thú có bảy đầu, mười sừng nó đang cỡi.
And the messenger said unto me—Wherefore wast thou astonished? I, will tell thee the secret of the woman, and of the wild-beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns.
8 Con thú ông thấy xuất hiện trước đây bây giờ không còn nữa. Nhưng nó sẽ từ vực thẳm lên, để đi vào chốn hủy diệt vĩnh viễn. Những người trên thế gian không được ghi tên trong Sách Sự Sống từ khi sáng tạo trời đất, lúc nhìn thấy con thú đều kinh ngạc, vì nó đã mất rồi mà nay xuất hiện trở lại. (Abyssos g12)
The wild-beast which thou sawest, was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss, and into, destruction, goeth away. And they who are dwelling upon the earth whose name is not written upon the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be astonished, when they see the wild-beast, because it was, and is not, and shall be present. (Abyssos g12)
9 Điều này người khôn ngoan mới hiểu. Bảy đầu có nghĩa là bảy ngọn núi, nơi người phụ nữ cư ngụ,
Here, is the mind that hath wisdom. The seven heads, are, seven mountains, whereupon the woman sitteth;
10 cũng có nghĩa là bảy vua: Năm vua đã đổ, vị thứ sáu đang cầm quyền, vị thứ bảy chưa đến. Khi nào xuất hiện, vị này chỉ làm vua trong ít lâu thôi.
and they are, seven kings: the five, have fallen, the one, is, the other, hath not yet come; and, whensoever he shall come, a little while, must he remain,
11 Còn con thú đã tung hoành trước kia nay không còn nữa là vua thứ tám. Nó vốn là một trong bảy vua kia, và sẽ đi vào chốn hủy diệt.
and the wild-beast which was and is not. And he, is an eighth, and is, of the seven, —and, into destruction, goeth away.
12 Mười sừng có nghĩa là mười vua chưa lên ngôi. Họ sẽ nắm quyền hành, trị vì trong một giờ với con thú.
And, the ten horns which thou sawest, are, ten kings, —who, indeed, have not received, sovereignty, as yet, but, authority, as kings, for one hour, shall receive, with the wild-beast.
13 Rồi họ đồng lòng trao quyền hành và uy lực lại cho con thú.
These, have, one mind, and, their power and authority, unto the wild-beast, they give.
14 Chúng sẽ giao chiến với Chiên Con, nhưng Chiên Con sẽ thắng, vì Ngài là Chúa của các chúa, Vua của các vua. Dân Chúa là những người được Ngài kêu gọi, lựa chọn và trung thành với Ngài.”
These, with the Lamb, will make war; and, the Lamb, will overcome them, because he is, Lord of lords, and King of kings, —and, they who are with him, are called and chosen and faithful.
15 Thiên sứ lại bảo tôi: “Các dòng sông nơi kỹ nữ đó ngồi, tiêu biểu cho các đoàn thể, dân tộc, quốc gia, và ngôn ngữ.
And he saith unto me—The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are, peoples and multitudes, and nations and tongues.
16 Con thú và mười vua sẽ ghét bỏ kỹ nữ. Chúng sẽ tấn công, lột trần, ăn thịt và thiêu nó trong lửa.
And the ten horns which thou sawest, and the wild-beast, these, shall hate the harlot, and, desolate, shall make her, and naked, and, her flesh, shall they eat, and, herself, shall they burn up with fire.
17 Đức Chúa Trời thúc giục họ thi hành ý định của Ngài, khiến họ đồng lòng trao nước mình cho con thú để lời Ngài được ứng nghiệm.
For, God, hath put into their hearts, to do his mind, and to do one mind, —and to give their sovereignty unto the wild-beast, until the words of God shall be completed.
18 Người phụ nữ ông nhìn thấy là thủ đô lớn cai trị trên các vua thế gian.”
And, the woman whom thou sawest, is the great city, which hath sovereignty over the kings of the earth.
